Interesting to see that they are opting to make it portable. I guess they'd have to at first. It's not like all hospitals will have 3d printers yet. It clearly says "reduces," scar formation. I wonder to what degree? It seems to be full thickness skin. Time will tell I guess.

dont worry about the margin its happen becuase they remove the dead skin with excision in 3 degree burns . In the case of small atrophic scars or acne acne scars i think they will find other ways to regenerate the skin maybe with the direct use of skinTe and the propagation of skinte into scars as they say.....

What part of the forward looking statements do you guys not understand? Every thing they write is going to be overly optimistic. They aren't writing peer reviewed papers. They are trying to get investors. This isn't a bad thing. They need money. The truth is it could be a year, two years, five, years. We have no idea. You getting all impatient is hilarious. I've said it a million times too. Acne scars isn't their immediate priority. Burns, facial reconstruction, etc... is. As in life threatening, actually disfiguring scars, etc... All you can do is be patient.

On another note, they seemed to have found a way to regenerate human skin at the University of Pennsylvania. Take it for what its worth. See article below:

https://www.pennmedicine.org/news/news-releases/2017/january/using-fat-to-help-wounds-heal-without-scars

They have done this for rats as of now. Somehow, they converted fibroblasts which are collagen producing cells that migrate to the injured area at first. Unfortunately, fibrosis which results from the fibroblasts ceiling the wound generates granulation tissue which matures to scar tissue. Most humans regenerate skin tissue as long as the dermis is not lost. With acne small lesions on the surface can go deep into the skin and destroy the dermis thus creating craters because the fibroblasts don't produce enough collagen. Also the collagen is only parallel in one direction and not the basket weave in normal skin.

However, if you can convert these fibroblasts into fat cells the skin regenerates and soon hair follicles grow. Basically fibrosis never happens. One catch though is that it's for new wounds and we don't know what happens with existing scars. Also, I don't know how the immune system will be affected.

There's millions to be made from this so hopefully some other scientists jump on this. SkinTE looks promising but others out there have made bold statements but failed to deliver.

I have many scars from cuts, burns, scrapes and lacerations. Many of them vanished while the bigger ones have stuck with me over the years although they have shrunk a little. I don't care about these. They are part of who I am.

The ones I really hate looking at are those from my 20 year ongoing battle with acne. The only places thankfully I never got it on were my chest, abdomen and neck. The rest of my body has some sort of scar left from these disgusting lesions which prevented me from living.

I posted in another forum about how big cysts on my back were giving me back pain and preventing me from walking. I had also joint pain as a teenager because of it. I do believe I suffered from the rare acne fulfimans but it went misdiagnosed. Anyways those years have passed and no longer have the joint pain or back pain.

I refused Accutane because of family mental history. I decided to continue living with it and landed several degrees and successful jobs.

Fortunately,it has subsidied over the yrs with some lifestyle issues or simply because my hormones are normal levels now but my shoulders, back, thighs and buttocks are left scarred. I seem to scar less easily than others so my scars left behind are thousands of small white raised little bumps all over. My face also has multiple ice picks and some boxscars. I have learned to own the ones on my face and over the years the ice picks look like large pores. They have shrunk in size while the boxscar ones are the ones that I would love to eradicate or reduce to the size of an open pore. What's left of my normal skin which has naturally open pores which is probably why my acne was intense.

I have regretted not doing so many things when I was younger simply because of my acne scars and acne.

I have seen many posters here complain about a 1 mm hole on their face while I have thousands of those and couldn't care less of them. I am sorry to tell you however that my back and shoulders look as if someone burned me by throwing at me thousands of small acid droplets on my skin.

I hope that whatever they come up will fix my back so I can at least take off my shirt.

It's amazing that I come back to see people just constantly repeating the same thing that was talked about several pages ago which was around a month ago.

If you go a couple of pages back on this thread you can see a more detailed explanation on the margin, human trials, and method of administering.

So the most recent news worth mentioning is that they pushed the market and commercialization date up from 1H 2018 to 2H 2017. Pushing a date forward like that for commercialization giving themselves only months to hold true to their word is a ballsy move and definitely not a plot to attract investors anymore. They're past that stage. They're positioning themselves to attract the early adapters now in my opinion and if their patent gets enough market penetration, then the company will truly take off.

Let'snot forget that they will only market it out to a limited number of clinics for the 1st year and then gradually expand after.

you are totally like me I have scars on face and back from severe cystic acne, like you I refused accutane(this was the biggest mistake of my life). I did not have any good doctor to tell me the consequences of these acne.

Now im depressed and suicidal, I do not get out of the house I dont go in pool or beach from my scars in back. Im 21 years old and for me this condition is suicidal.

You can't say you didn't find a good doctor. Most dermatologists are hard to come by. I have seen thousands of them and they put me on antibiotics but they failed. I do believe one antibiotic I took helped clear part of it. I was 23 at that time. Also, at the time my face had mostly cleared up too on its own. It took some time for the redness to dissapate. At that time, I was able to assess the damage and it wasn't pretty. About 20 or so small ice picks and some 3 or so boxscars on my temples and cheeks. My jawline had white little raised scars which looked like hypertrophic scars but according to this forum it's follicular macular atrophy. Most of these had already formed from years ago. Taking Accutane at 23 was a lost cause because I already had most of my severe scars from it from my teenage years.

Many dermatologists simply did not follow up with me and flushed me everytime I asked for a check up or a second consultation.Theirstaff would be rude to me everytime I called to book another appointment. At 20, they suggested Accutane for the first time but when I went for my appointment, the dermatologist was not there. I realized this derm was not for me. Most derms in America don't view acne as a serious condition. It is a cosmetic issue and anything cosmetic falls in another category. Attitudes have changed over the years because they rather have people develop the scars so they can make cash on fake scar revisions. The younger generation has better resources than I did. In my teenage years, they would tell me to use over the counter products which did zit for me and horrible antibiotics. If only Accutane was prescribed to me at 14, I would be cleared right now or maybe not. I can't say that this drug would leave me scarless or more scarred. I do not know.

My mother was against me taking this drug the first she heard of it. The number one reason I never took was because of her and the second reason mental illness in the family. The dermatologist told me to research it on the Internet and its possible side effects. He wasn't to happy about giving to me. At my second consultation, he forgot to come at his office.

I did find all those issues with dryness, impotence, hair loss and suicidal thoughts quite frightening as well. I realized that this drug was a bit like going on radiation therapy treating some sort of cancer. It was scary. At 20, I was a full time university student working entry level positions in big companies. This drug would of held me back. The scars had already formed on my face and back. I can tell you that a decade later my scars did not in no way prevent me from going out there and living. It's all really in my head and the same thing goes for you. The only thing I regret is not getting into a committed relationship with a girl because I thought she would reject me. The years have passed and now it's hard to find someone. I'm still self conscious of these scars. As I got older I realized that girls do not care about them. It's hard for me though to commit and stay with a woman long term because of these scars.

I had a period of remission from body acne between 20 to 22. At that point, most of it had cleared but since 22 it flared again and stuck with me. There are periods of remission and full blown break outs since then. Because of the remissions, I never took Accutane. I saw no point in it. I cut a bit of meat out of my diet, cut dairy and sugars competely, I exercised and I eat lots of veggies/fruits. I was able to control it with simple lifestyle changes. Over the last year, it has come back on my back, face, buttocks but not to the level of my teenage years and the lesions don't leave scars behind. I just want for these annoying things to stop growing in the first place. Being in my thirties and suffering from this affliction is much worse than teenage acne.

As for the scars, I am stuck with them. A reminder that I went through was a very unnecessary and stupid skin condition. I can only hope for skin regeneration to restore my skin.

This is true and I think it's becausemostderms deal with skin cancer. Anyway, I know for many of you English isn't your first language but like I said. Forward looking statements. We just have to wait for the first human trials, but we don't know when those will take place.

They had initially stated that they would try to bring this to market for limited commercialization for the 1st year in the 1st half of 2018 (1H 2018). They now seem to have pushed that date up to 2nd half of 2017 (2H 2017) and as we all are aware of, there's only a couple of months left for this year.

They also stated that they were going to begin human trials in the third quarter of 2017 (Q3 2017) and if you do the math well:

12 months in a year divide by 4 to get a quarter and you're left with 3 months per quarter; the third quarter (Q3) being the months of July, August and September.

So if they started human trials already then the latest they should conclude according to their patent is in December because they claimed that it takes 3 months for full regeneration from the point of administering. That's if they started recently; otherwise, they may be 1-2 months out from full results. So technically if all goes well, they really can commercialize this right before 2018.

Yeah you guys are all just hoping for this pie in the sky BS. I mean I'm trying to follow all your logic and just think. If there was a fucking CURE FOR SCARRING COMING OUT OR EVEN HINTED AT ACTUALLY COMING OUT by 2018 or 2020 or even 2025 this company would be the next GOOGLE. Follow the money folks. They're out there begging for money and it shows they can't prove any results in humans. It's not there yet. This is a start-up just doing PR for funding. I will provide my bitcoin account and you can provide yours and I'll bet you 10 000 dollars USD we won't see this by 2020.

He's kind of right, I'm not doubting the efficacy of the treatment like him because he is a debbie downer and just a pessimistic twat in general BUT, let's be honest they need money, r and d costs money, they aren't at a point where they can do human trials yet, it's planned more hypothetically right now.

I will provide my bitcoin account and you can provide yours and I'll bet you 10 000 dollars USD we won't see this by 2020.

They wouldn't be the new google because insurance companies control the fate of people in the United States. It's not pie in the sky, the pie in the sky part is that in 2-3 yrs they'll be able to get rid of their acne scars. Even if/when this becomes readily available doctors aren't going to shop of their skin and regrow new skin, the one million issues that could arisewon't be deemed worth it. Infection, poorly healed skin etc... Skinte will need quite a bit of human trials before then and those take quite some time

Polarity have updated their investor deck. Check it out. Human trials have begun and they are going to commercialize it by the end of this year. From what I have read the founders were already working in the technology at John Hopkins University before they started their company. @Rez77
They already got millions in funding and their board of directors are some of the best around. All this wouldn't have happened if the product didn't work.
