Lexia..
Did you use any soap or facial cleanser while there(in a shower or just washing face)? Or did you just use the sea water?
Hi!
I do use a certain cleanser and moisturiser which im probably going to stick to for a long time cause its never broken me out and its never made my face feel disgusting, yet its affordable- cheerin!
I use Neutrogena oil-free moisuriser (its a white and purple box/bottle) if u want me to find a photo of the bottle i will...
and the cleasner is Neutrogena Extra Gentle. Ive been using it since last yr july before i broke up pretty bad outa nowhere. I do this morning and night.... i only came in contact with sea water when in the water, never took some home with me.
Ps: HATE soap on my face and body yUK
Sea Water is great for clearing up acne bc as a teenager everytime I went to the beach I got a great tan which hid any marks I had and the sea water would dry up (along with the sun) any existing acne I had so I would come home looking so fresh .. well minus the sand lol. But, thsi is only a practical idea if you A) Live like 10min to a beach and B) It is beach weather all year round. I live in Rhode Island and you def. do not want to go to the beach now lol and even in the summer the water only reaches like 60 degrees so it is still pretty cold. Sorry for all of you who live in the midwest and can't experience what its like to be at the beach

First off, Lexia you're really pretty, don't worry about the marks!
Second, I agree that sea water does help! I spent 4 weeks in the Caribbean a few months ago and all my marks disapeared, was a combo of sea + sun.
You guys might want to try what I've been trying as its helped loads,
Every night I exfoiliate using a 'clearskin' scrub, although you can use baking soda or whatever. I then boil water from a kettle and pour it into a bowl and add some 'sea salt' and squeeze some lemon juice in the bowl. Then put my face over the bowl with a towl over my head and steam for 5-10 minutes. I then wash my face with really cold water to close the pores. Then i leave the bowl of water to cool down for an hour and just before i go to bed i wash my face in that water.
I don't use anything else, no spot treatment, no moisturizer, nothing
It's worked for me, give it a try!
Heyyy.... to the last two comments,
well guys, i personally think its the same. Its been around 7 weeks since my holiday.
But here is a photo i took RIGHT NOW just for you to decide. I put the photo of my left side when i got back from holidays, and the picture where u see green toilet cleaner in the background is the one i took NOW (hehe).
Let me know what you all think....
Ps: I havent been taking Roaccutane for a month now, ive got 3 more boxes to go through which will make up a total of 7... i just can't be bothered anymore, although i should start taking them, cause i rekon 4 months on tane just isnt quite enough.

Julie says in her faq that you should wash first with salt water for at least 2 weeks first only.
Its because the cleansers and other stuff that we use on our face strips the face of too much oil and thus vital proteins which are used to heal acne marks.
Afterwards you can use cleanser and stuff.
I don't know if this is right or not, but I'm trying this out right now. Just a cup of warm water and a table spoon of salt.
Its because I've been using products on my face for years and I noticed that my acne marks take forever to disappear compared to others.
"Oil is not your enemy. Almost every acne product on the market addresses the symptom of acne, not the problem. Stopping the flow of oil to your skin leaves your skin malnourished, dehydrated and chemically dependent. This is how acne marks are formed. Skin that turns purple or red after an outbreak of acne is from the lack of protein within the epidermis/stratum corneum lining. By using acne creams like benzoyl peroxide you are inhibiting the skin to repair itself. Face it, once a pimple pops you are left with a sore that requires scar tissue repair, collagen, elastin, melanin etc. Without these reparative proteins your skin is healing on its own which is why the scar is translucent and becomes atrophic. Most skin can recover from a pimple without pocking unless the body has been stripped of its natural occurring protein. This also means you begin to wrinkle and get lines even at 20 years of age the skin will wrinkle.
Oil is essential in transporting the correct antibodies to fight off bacteria infected sebum. The more you use chemicals to stop the oil, the harder your skin will work to produce it which accelerates your outbreaks. I call this man-made acne because you are causing about 90% of the trauma by over washing the skin or treating it with medications."
This is from her site. To me, it makes sense from my experience. My marks don't heal very well, so I'm trying the salt water method for 2 weeks. If successful, maybe a month. Also wanted to add that the few times where I had pimples on my body, the marks healed. Its only on my face where I put a lot of stuff on it where the marks don't heal. But she is also trying to sell her products, so take what you can.
I'm also back on the lemon/egg white mask and my skin is looking better. Other than that, thats pretty much all I'm doing.
Well ok im bak with some results to tell everyone. Im currently on month 3 of accutane and been going to the beach everyday for the last 2 weeks. Ive been spending about 30mins in the ocean and 30mins on the beach getting some sun. I do have a wicked tan now however it seems that the sea water doesnt really clean up the red marks at all. Just having a slight tan makes them less visible and its pretty much made no difference the sea water. So oh well, im thinking of starting to use Kosmea Skin Clinic now, which is supposed to help with the healing of red marks and scars. Does anyone know if its safe to use while on accutane?
Ahh thats a shame j0n! Guess it varies on skin types.
Anywayyyyy apart from battling these left over red marks i haeve.... ive now made myself another problem!!!!
Stupid me went to get my eyebrows waxed and re-shaped. It didnt even occur to me i shouldnt be doing it cause i was just recently on Roaccutane. (apparently u have to wait 6 months to wax) ive been off it not even a month! ANYWAY, it stripped off my skin and im left with this stiff new skin that wrinkles up everytime i scrunch my face up. It feels almost as if it will scab...... and the beautician said it might but will be gone in a couple of days. Its been 3 days now and its just gotten darker and stiffer.... im worried once it scabs and the skin peels itself off i might be left with scarring where ever my skin was stripped... and its like ALL AROUND BOTH eyebrows!

Has anyone ever done this before? any advice?
