I just got my sea water in the mail. It's purified by filtering without heat and it's still cold in the bottle! IT was like $10 with shipping and everything for 32oz. I look forward to using it... so should I just rub it on my face for a few minutes?
Haha, my mom is PISSED that I PAID for sea water.

Well most sea salt products are like scrubs or cleansers ... it's in products that you wash off, not stuff you leave on. Same with sea water, since you just wash it off, it shouldn't be a problem. Obviously it would be comedogenic if you leave it on because... well, seems pretty obvious that salt would clog your pores!
and... salt in general(not sea salt) is very comedogenic because they have to put Iodine in it. That is government regulated in most developed countries, because if people lack iodine, they get thyroid problems, and goiters. But too much iodine causes acne. or so i've heard.
I remember going on holiday to Spain few years back during summer and my skin looked awesome with all the sun and sea water. I would love to spend all my time at the beach but coming from gloomy old Scotland that aint really an option (unless I wanted to get frostbite as well as glowing skin, lol)
Sea salt baths I tried, but just wasn't the same really.
I've recently soaked my face in water with sea salt in it. It seems to be helpful to me....But, I boiled the water with the salt in it first, so it would dissolve in it. Of course I cooled it, & put it in a clean bowl for the soak. I just figured that the salt at the beach is dissolved in the water. I know I left it on my face lots of times before having the opportunity to rinse it. Never seemed to clog my pores then. *shrug*
Orginally, I wanted to do that every morning, but it's doubtful due to the time factor. I think I'll add it to my occasional pampering list, like with clay masks.

For those of you who don't live by the sea (I live in Ohio!), all you have to do is buy a huge container of sea salt (really cheap! i got mine at Kroger). After vacationing to the beach and realizing a huge improvement in my complexion after hours in the ocean, I had to find an alternative. I mix a little sea salt with hot water in a small cup, mix, and then dip a cotton ball in it and spread it on my face. I also find that tanning a little bit mixed with the sea salt treatment helps amazingly well. Check this out, you'll love the results!
PS- sea salt does not contain iodine.
Hope this helped!

I live about 45 mins away from the Outer Banks in North Carolina and in the summer my friends and I spend almost every day there, and during the summer I have absolutely no acne whatsoever and no redmarks either. Swimming in the ocean and being out in the sun just totally make it go away!
