Wow I do notice a little improvement! Like a poster said above me, a zit went down significantly! I'll keep trying this

Right now I just take a little cup and pour a little bit of ACV and a little bit of water, soak a cotton ball with it and apply all overmy face. How many asprin tablets do you use in relation to how much of an ACV/water mixture?

Thanks!

maybe ill retry this since people have been having such good results. i tried the whole acv thing a little over a year ago (straight from the bottle) and it did squat for me!! are your marks very red or persistant to begin with? anyone else with tough skin like mine but has used this sucessfully?? maybe it doesnt work on me as well b/c my marks take more than a simple vinegar solution...

i have really really tough red marks. every single pimple i have had has left a red mark...even the very first one! i see much more improvement on newer marks than older marks though. try diluting it 50/50 which is what i do.

i use a cleanser which contains AHA, then put ACV, then another AHA product and it hasnt bugged me. just make sure your face is dry before putting it on.

Apple cider is definitely NOT the same as apple cider vinegar, hence, yeah, it's a problem. They probably have different effects on your skin.

sorry, i tried looking but i can't find a difference between apple cider vinegar and apple vinegar. i know ACV also goes by cider vinegar, but I've never heard it go by "apple vinegar". look at the ingredients in your bottle. my bottle says "apple CIDER vinegar and water".. what does yours say?

The smell didn't bother me too much (it reminded me of french fries LOL)

WHAT THE HELL KIND OF FRENCH FRIES WERE YOU EATING!? so i can avoid getting them 🙂

lmao, i agree

pumpkin- i think that as more people are starting to try this (smart people!), try editing your original post. i feel like more and more people will try it as more and more people continue to get great results (it's inevitable!) cause people are asking the same questions over and over. that way, people will know exactly why ACV works, how much to dilute it to, adjustments, 5% acidity, etc...

I changed the name and my first page post .. does all that sound okay? I hope that answers people's questions.

Wow I do notice a little improvement! Like a poster said above me, a zit went down significantly! I'll keep trying this

Thanks!

depends on how large your astringent bottle is .. I would say 2 or 3 .. the aspirin will just literally turn to mush .. dissolves much better in ACV than water. Everything is on my first post now .. all the steps.

Im sorry if this has been asked before, but can i use BP after the ACV?

IMO i would say yes .. i currently use BP and I see no "bad" results from using both only greta results IMO it is the best combo ACV + BP + Moisturizer .. it is incredible.

I think using anything with AHA is over doing it bc ACV is also a natural exfoliant. Too much exfoliation leads to dull skin, loss of skin barrier that retains moisture and dehydrated skin! It happned to me and since i stopped exfoliating so much my skin has improved alot!

everyone says it works but where are the pics? I used this stuff for about 3 months...dont remember if there was a difference, it there was it was very minimal. Might have made it redder i believe.

I usually dont have time to take pix everyday of my progress, too many things to do with college and all. I am not making excuses bc it doesnt work but too many ppl have seen results for it to not be. Some ppl's skins are tougher than others and ACV just won't be strong enough .. other unfortunately will need to do something drastic .. maybe a facial peel, laser surgery. This by no means is for everyone, all depends on your skin. So if it hasn't been working chances are you have missed a step or your skin is to tough for this.

poopy!!!! i just realized ive been using apple vinegar not applecider vinegar. do uthnik this is a problem ? cause apple cider is jsut pure apple juice so would jsut apple vinegar work the same?

Apple Cider Vinegar is apparenly made from Apple Cider .. i think apple vinger and acv are the same thing? Look it up and let us know; I am curious. I haven't looked into where ACV comes from or how it is made .. I have just looked into the benefits.

SmashingPumpkins - I have been using Dan's regimen for almost 2 months now, and it seems to be helping. I'm down to only 4 or 5 active pimples to date, but just about every pimple I have had in recent months has left a red spot. It looks like I have so many more pimples then I actually do! Anyway, I read your thread about ACV and want to try it, but I'm worried about adding something new to my regimen before I give it enough time to really see results. Since the pimples have slowed down, the red marks look like they are fading, but it's soooo slow! I think some of them are several months old. They are especially bad because my makeup doesn't cover them well. Do you think it would be safe to start the ACV now, or should I wait another month or two for the regimen to take full effect? Also, I read Delna's thread (from a while ago) about exfoliating with baking soda, then toning with ACV, as well as a protein mask of egg whites and lemon juice. Do you know anything about the baking soda and egg thing? Sorry for going on forever...this is my first post and I had to give you all my details! Thanks SP! :wavey:

BP actually slows down your skin's healing process so red marks last even LONGER! Way to long IMO. I think adding ACV would be fine, you may experience a small break out .. I did but I am not quite sure if it was the ACV or hormones, but nonetheless it didn't last long at all. I do not recommend using the baking soda or egg white method while doing ACV + BP + Moisturzing because that is wayy to much, you want ti to be as simple as possible. ACV already helps exfoliate your skin, makes your skin's healing rate faster and neutralizes .. that is what is so greta about ACV because it is like 5 different products in one, it can evene replace a moisturizer in some cases because thats how well it balances out your skin. If I were you wait until those last 5 active pimples are gone which may be a week or two then add this into your regimen.

I use ACV atleast 3 times a day morning, afternoon and night. I only use BP either in the morning or at night. Don't be scared of a breakout because using the ACV and BP your active pimples won't last half as long .. sometimes I have a pimple or white head and the next day it is no longer ed just a white head which is better than any redness and inflammation. I also think that the ACV brings stuff to the surface because I will have no redness just like a hard white head that can be easily removed, and I noticed my blackheads seems to be coming to the surface. All I have to do is manually exfoliate my nose and they are gone 🙂

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just got 2 red marks already fading but I will take snap shot in a little while. I hate getting any acne on my cheeks because it always leaves a mark and for some reason I only get pimples large enough to leave a mark on my right side. Every once in a while a small white head on my left cheek will appear but it never leaves a mark.. ugh my poor right side. I can't take a pic right now because my sister wnats me to go in the pool, so when I get a chance I sure will and I will post until it is gone just to prove ACV works faster than anything else I have tried.

Thank You Jaimie (cucumber) for helping reply to these posts! How are your red marks? Are they fading? Or was it mostly Oily Skin you wanted to get rid of?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I feel bad for people who spend their money on this stuff http://shopping.msn.com/content/shp/?ctId=...ptnrdata=200291 when you can buy Dan's Gel for 8 dollars and ACV for what 99cents !! My Lord what a savings lol. I have tried alot of expensive crap all sorts of stuff from Online, or at CVS and nothing has given me results like this. I THANK ACNE.ORG! I am so glad I found this site! I wish I found it sooner, that is my only regret.

Hi Daughter of Eve 😉

I know Smashing Pumpkin advice you not to do the baking soda exfoliation and the egg-white/lemon mask since the ACV does a really good job. However; I've been doing BS exfoliation + 50/50 ACV/Water + BP in the morning, and the egg-white lemon mask + ACV + BP in the evening, for the last two weeks and I've noticed a huge change in the appearence and tone of my skin...It's just so smooth and nice and a lot less oily due to the ACV. Still battling the little "Colony/Settlement" of red marks on my right cheekbone, but they are definately fading..

Anyway, my point is that don't be too scared about the Baking Soda and the egg white mask, since the baking soda is extremely gentle as an exfoliater and the egg white helps to give a nice glow to your skin. The main point is that as long as you're using ACV (+BP) as the cornerstone of your regimen, you should definately be on the right track.

But, as SmashingPumpkin says; wait a few days/a week maybe (depending on the severeness of your latest outbreak) before adding ACV to your regimen.

In your situation I would start to add ONLY acv for the first week or two, then gradually add the baking soda and the egg white mask...It's pretty much down to experimenting a little to see what feels comfortable for you, since we all react a little different to each of the products.

Oh, and just for the record...I'm a 33 year old male, so my skin would also be a bit rougher in general, and therefore handles the daily exfoliation with Baking Soda really well. Whether there's a difference in that regard, I don't know for sure.. But you should definately try the egg white mask. It makes me look 25 instead of 33..

Best o' luck,

Cheers/Slainte

Spacebass

Do you just use egg white? Do you use the yolk at all?

The only reason I suggested in not using the Baking Soda is because ACV already like a AHA exfoliates your skin so adding too many AHA's or manual exfoliatiuon can cause alot of harm than good to your skin.

Thanks for the swift replies SmashingPumpkins and Spacebass! SP, I think the logic behind the baking soda AND the apple cider vinegar together was to balance out the skin's pH level. BS is basic, and ACV is acidic, so you need one to cancel the other out. I don't know if that is correct, but does it make sense?

the only reason ACV balances out our skin is because almost all the products we use on our faces are alkaline, so using something acidic would def. balance it out. I'll research it some more.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apple cider vinegar is rich in alpha-hydroxy acids, helping to dissolve fatty deposits on the skinAaas surface and reducing scaly conditions, promoting a softer, smoother appearance. This miracle fluid also regulates the pH of the skin. (But why does it regulate pH! lol)

1. Hair rinse: Apple cider vinegar gets rid of residue build-up on hair, leaving it soft and shiny. Mix 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar with 1 quart water and use as a final rinse after shampooing.

2. Stain remover: If your hands are stained from chopping berries, dab some straight apple cider vinegar on the stains and theyAaall disappear like magic.

3. Tired, swollen hands or feet: Rub a little apple cider vinegar on tired, sore, or swollen hands or feet and feel the soothing difference.

4. Overnight facial: Get rid of blemishes and make your skin more youthful by patting apple cider vinegar on your face before bed. YouAaall have softer, smoother skin in the morning!

5. Sunburn bath: If youAaave been singed by the sun, find soothing relief by adding a cupful of apple cider vinegar to your bath and soaking for 10 minutes.

6. Topical skin burns: apply ice-cold apple cider vinegar to prevent blistering.

7. Lightening age spots: Dab areas with straight apple cider vinegar and leave on overnight.

8. Dandruff fighter: Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar to 3 parts warm water to balance scalp pH and control dandruff. You can also apply undiluted vinegar to the scalp. Allow it to penetrate, then shampoo with a mild shampoo.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just found an excellent website on ACV never seen this one before!

http://www.hundmeister.com/acvbenefit.htm -- It is about dogs lol but there is still some great info

Wow afrter all the reading I have done .. after reading that website ACV is def. going to be something I use for the rest of my life. They laos do sell ACV undilutes and completely natural no preservatives! So visit this website and def. read everything .. the very bottom is where you can buy the undilutes ACV.

Awsome! another very informative website .. look at all the greatness in ACV lol http://www.ageless.co.za/200102_february.htm has so many minerals and vitamins and amino acids.

I read that ACV helps regulate the pH of our bodies and skin by making it not to acidic and not to akaline .. that is all I could find right now.
