Hello, I am new to this forum and I need some advice. About four months ago I had this big black head on my cheek, and I decided to try to squeeze it out. (I now realize this was a horrible idea) I got really annoyed with it and I had to squeeze really hard before about half of it came out and a little blood started seeping out of my skin around the blackhead so I quit picking at it. A few weeks later it formed sort of a scab, dried up, and went away, but it left a nice red mark about 1/4 inch in diameter. When I stretch my skin, the redness goes away, but it comes right back. It's basically flat, unless it's a really, really, shallow scar. I'm just not 100 percent sure what it is if it's a red mark, a scar, a pseudo-scar or what; does anybody have any idea what it might be? And also would ACV help get rid of it? Thanks

It sounds more like a scar bc if you stretch a redmark they usually do not fade but if you stretch a scar sometimes they look like they arent there... sooo you can try ACV but it does not get rid of scars .. infact nothing can. They do have stuff that helps made deep scars like Mederma you could give that a go if ACV doesn't work.

I figured I would update on my current situation.

I haven't been using ACV since I have become pregnant not because I do not think it could harm the baby but when I found out it was such a shock and alot happened that I just stopped all of my regimen completely. I don't live at home anymore either, I live with my boyfriend. I am also still in college which is stressful enough and now I am having a baby its like double stress and my skin is def. showing it. My face has calmed down alot I get a few here and there but nothing major .. the weird thing is I never really had acne on my shoulder or back just a few every now and again but since becoming pregnant that is what has broken out the worst. I finally ahve that under some control. I don't have any BP or ACV soo all my b/f has at his house for acne is some oxy wash and hydrogen peroxide .. I hate hydrogen peroxide bc it does make your skin wicked dry but for right now it will have to do. Oh and the Oxy wash is a peice of crap lol honestly those acne body washes really do not work.

I def. will get into the habit of using ACV its just right now I doubt it will help much atleast with the pimples and oily skin bc my hormones are fluctuating like crazy soo its like having my period for 9 months which every girls knows the week before or during there is almost always a breakout. So keeping my skin under control isn't exactly easy.

I do believe though that food has nothing to do with acne ... I didn't eat exactly the way I should have been months ago and my skin was perfectly fine .. now that I am pregnant I am eating as healthy as I possibly can and now I have acne lol .. I do believe hormones play the biggest part in getting acne thats why it is so damn hard to keep it away bc you can't control hormones.

I hope everyone is having success with this ... and please before asking questions like how is this done, where can I buy it, can I do this basically everything is on the first page and repeated questions are very annoying so If no1 replies to you it isn't bc any1 is being rude its bc the questions ahs probobly been answered atleast 20x already.

Good Luck Everyone!

yes it will lighten your complexion making it more radient bc it gets rid of all the dead skin. IDK what an essense mask is but I know ACV would work better than a mask.

i've started using ACV 50/50 with water as a toner with Dan's Regime and so far i've had some promising results!

I don't know if you all saw this, but this is a post on how to mask the smell of ACV using green tea. This is a lot easier for me because I still can't find any of the essential oils you were all talking about in my grocery store.

http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php...=137823&hl=

I saw a post at Makeupalley that has a way of getting rid of the awful smell by using green tea:

1. Place the tea bag in a heat proof measuring cup.

2. Pour boiling water into the cup to the desired amount. (I make 30 ml.) Let the tea stand till it is cooled to room temperature.

3. Pour the cooled green tea into the prepared sterilized bottle.

4. Pour in the same amount of Raw ‚œ Unfiltered Organic Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar into the bottle (30 ml for my case) so the ratio is 1:1.

5. Store the ACV/Green Tea solution in a dark, cool place. NOTE: This doesn‚„t need refrigeration.

6. Shake well before using.

7. Make a fresh batch weekly as it's very cheap. (I pour any leftover on the plants in the garden. :P)

Has anyone used this? Does it sound effective and safe?

Just add a squeeze of lemon juice to the ACV and it hides the smell

Sorry if this has been posted dozens of times but i read to about page 8 and cudnt see this probably my mistake like anyways...... So is this ACV best if you add water doing the whole 50/50 thing then dap it onto a cotton pad and wipe it onto your face? until your skin absorbs the stuff frm the cotton pad?

soem ppl have used a spray bottle that would be best for your back bc its hard to get at but for chest, shoulders and face I just use a flat cotton pad.

^ Leave it on your face :)

How long was it until people started seeing results on red marks??

I've been using it for a week, and seen no difference at all. Thanks :D

I used it for a month before it began to fade some of my fresher red marks last year but it differs from person to person.

Give it at least 6-8 weeks before giving up on it.

its great for acne, oily skin and red marks. Just pretty much the perfect toner IMO.

Yes as I stated a couple pages back must use 50/50 starting out .. go back a few pages to understand why.

wow, i tried it tonight and will surely continue since everyone is raving about ACV it seems :) oh i just have two questions. i am from austria and my dictionary is confusing me a bit. is apple cider vinegar the same as cider vinegar? and can i just fill the toner in a random bottle so i don't have to mix it every evening? does it have to be a glass bottle or would plastic also be okay? how long is the lastingness if i keep it in a bottle?

i just recently bought braggs acv and i noticed that this stuff smells way worse then the filtered white house stuff i been using. the smell fades but when i sweat or shower i can smell it again and man it smells like shit. no really straight shit. but anyway i was wondering if maybe i added jojoba to it would that help the smell? i actually started to use the white house during the day and braggs at night. :D

Hi,

Thanks for starting this thread Rebecca! ACV is a really good tip, i've been using it for just a few days, and i think already i am noticing improvements. Just wondering - should i store my ACV in the fridge?

thanks! :)

Hey, I've been reading this, and now I'd really like to try ACV.

I have mild acne, and more dark (hyperpigmentation) spots then red spots.

Do you think ACV would help both?

No don't worry ACV doesn't need to be in the fridge unless you like the feel better .. I guess if my skin was irritated cold ACV might feel alot better. It your choice.
