Hey guys, I made a little ACV signature for everyone using ACV. So if you use ACV in any way, use it in your signature. (Smashing doesn't have to use it as we already know she does. :P)

It would just be interesting to see how many people are actually using it. I think this will also work as a promotion for the product.

Just copy and paste this URL into your signature in your profile options. Then apply the tags.

die_acne, I love the new ACV signature! What a great idea! Good job!

Do you think it is working for you? You should take pix outside and not so close, outside is the best .. pix always come out so clear.

Okay I think I may have figured out why I haven't gotten so much progress. Well I don't exactly moisturize every single day after applying the ACV, stupid I know. But I don't really have all the time to apply it, wait till it dries, apply BP, wait till it dries. You know what I'm saying? Well I think I'm gonna make time for the moisturizing. I think it will help. What kinds of moisturizers do you all recommend? Because mine isn't exactly doing the trick for me.

What a great thread!

I know someone who used ACV years ago and it worked for her,she told me to specifically use an organic brand so i went to Whole Foods and got some.I stopped using it because i developed some hyperpigmented marks after one session of V-beam and the ACV just made them appear more red than they already were.Hmm whatever, you've inspired me to give it a second chance! :D

You should still take a pix of what you look like now, do not wait until ACV has healed your redmarks then you will get crap and ppl will b like "i cannot believe that", "i need before and after."

lol, I just want to hear it from you. Yes I can see a difference, it isn't as red anymore, it is more pink, which is good. When red marks turn from a purple/red to pink you know you are doing something right  I just think taking pix outside is better only because you can see the progress much better. For some reasons pix taken outside always coem out so perfect.

Moisturizing is very good and BP will hinder your fading redmark progress. Since using BP that is what I noticed, my redmarks were not getting any lighter in the past week 1/2 or so, so this week I stopped using BP and noticed my redmarks fading again. It is a gamble I guess, so if you are using BP it will jus ttake alot longer to notice anything different. I don't breakout much so using just ACV is fine, but if you still breakout all the time ACV + BP + Moisturizing would be best. That way you tackle red marks and pimples at the same time. I also noticed that like BP, ACV has a drying effect on pimples.

Still breaking out a bit, the last major break out is just beginning its dying stages. Still getting dead skin on my cotton balls, and can see it on my face.

do you use anything else or just ACV? Is it full strength?

I use BP, cetaphil cleanser, and a moisturizer with SPF 15. its about a 3:1 ratio of acv to water. My skin is looking better, the breakout on my face's rigth side has almost subsided, and the breakout on my left side is getting better too.

I have been using the ACV for three weeks and my skin has been better, but all of a sudden my face is more red, the only thing I changed was washing my face with a scrub because I'm out of my Proactive cleanser, my next shipment is suppose to come soon, do you think it's the scrub or ACV that has been making my face red?

Its St.Ives Apricot Scrub, and I noticed that my pores are more open now. 😥

those scrubs arent all that great for your skin, they can do damage, creating small scratches, and making your skin irritated. The ACV alrdy exfoliates your afce so it isn't necessary to use any sort of manual exfoliation .. this explain the reddness.

Been on this for about 3 weeks now.... usin it mornin and night with about a 3:1 ACV to water ratio, seems to be helping alot with my old marks unforunately I had another breakout so I gotta wait till this subsides ( hopefully acv will make it quicker) and I wanna see my progress in another week. To the people using this full strength, do you use it full both day and night or just at night?

I'll keep updating with my experience, so far so good though.

Is there anything else that I can use to take off my makeup at night, because I'm out of my cleanser and got nothing else.

I only use full strength at night. Any pimples I get ACV dries them up quickly without leaving any redmark. I know when using just BP it would dry my acne up but usually left a redmark.

I'm interested in trying this - I've been using a scrub for a while and I'm now seeing it hasn't worked for me :(

do you do the cleanser / ACV / BP all at the same time? I'm hoping I can do it this way, since when I try to wait 10 minutes I end up doing something else and it works out to about an hour :P

also another thread reccommends using 50% Baking Soda / Water to exfoliate - should i ditch it? My face just looks like I'm really abusing it too much and I'm dubious about the benefits of baking soda

thanks in advance for the reply, and for giving me hope again :)

My experience with the baking soda is that if I do it too often, my face looks like I took sandpaper to it. So now I only do it once a week or so when I feel the need for extra exfoliation.

If you are going to use Baking Soda use it only a couple times a week and then apply ACV Toner because if you leave your skin alkaline you will break out, but using the ACV right after will make your skin acidic and balance the pH.

I cleanse, then dry and apply ACV. After my face is dry sometimes I apply BP, not always because my main mission is to get rid of redmarks. I only break out around menstruation and it isn't bad enough to use BP everyday.

I don't think Baking soda would dramatically make your skin alkaline.

I'm thinking of all the acidic things I put on my face now. Moisturizers, AHA lotion, ACV, lemon/egg white, and using a cleanser with probably a neutral pH.

It can go both ways now.

Baking soda felt like sand paper against my skin for like a week or 2? When I first started, I had to just put a shower thingy against my face and rinse it off that way or it would hurt.

ACV also took me more than a week to get used to it.

I think it helps...I'm not sure because I'm using a whole bunch of things, but baking soda does make my skin look fresh and clean afterwards.

It would make your skin alkaline because BS is alkaline and what alkaline does is it washes away your acid mantle, which is there too protect your skin form bacteria like acne. This is why ACV is so important because it will recreate that acid mantle so your skin doesn't work as hard to create more oil. Not all moisturizers are pH balanced and acidic mostly everything is alkaline, it is very hard to find a decent moisturizer. As far as AHA lotions I don't trust them because IDK what else is in the moisturizer. I am just skeptical about moisturizers, it has taken me years to find a decent brand.

Hello,

I'm an eighteen-years-old french student, I discovered this forum yesterday, I bought today apple cider vinegar 100% biologic 5% of acidity, is it good ?

What's BP means ?

Must I do something before and after apply the ACV ?

How many times must apply the ACV in a day (or in a week) ?

thanks

I want to start using AVC! How do you think I should add to my routine?

I currently use a aspirin and Avene Skin Recovery (my moisturiser) as a face mask on a evening. Do you guys think it'll be to much if I continue doing this with the AVC? or should I just stick the aspirin in with the AVC and forget the mask? How do you get it to totally dissolve? I always end up with tiny pieces in my face mask.

My regimen at the moment is:

MORNING

AVENE CLEANANCE SOAPLESS GEL CLEANSER

BP

AVENE SKIN RECOVERY CREAM

EVENING

AVENE CLEANANCE SOAPLESS GEL CLEANSER

ASPIRIN and AVENE SKIN RECOVERY CREAM MASK

BP

and finally a little more moisturiser!

Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks!!
