Long time no update. My skin was relatively clear thus the lack of updates. However because my skin was so clear I slacked on my skin regimen and started eating whatever, whenever, wherever and now my face is suffering.
I had a bit of emotional eating fit and consumed gelato, cookies, fried chicken, and hard liquor and now my face is showing it. For the first time in months a pimple popped up on my cheek. My usual break out area is my chin due to that time of month. At the moment I applied some black currant tea leaves on there and had some black currant tea. (I ran out of green tea) I ran out of jojoba oil so maybe my lack of moisture also contributed to my break out.
Pretty much it was bad diet + slacking in skin regimen = BREAKOUT
Let share some thoughts with everyone. Still using Retin-a and it is pretty much useless for my face. I do not see diminishing in blackheads and I've been using Retin-a for years! The only reason why I'm still using it is because it's suppose to help with wrinkles when you're older. So I'm just using it as an early preventative measure.
I've bumped up on the TCA peels using 15% now and there is no burning or peeling or anything. Guess my skin is really tough. I need to restock on my arsenal of peels.
Been drooling over a new toy. The Personal Microderm. Can't purchase right now bc still trying to pay off my credit card from my last emotionally charged shopping spree. But this baby is next on the list!
Been breaking out on my chin again. Like underground cystic pimples. I tried my PMD and I love it! It suctions all the dirt, dead skin, sebum right out. My clarisonic exfoliates but my PMD sucks all the clogged pores out AND exfoliates with the blue disks. I'm so excited. =)
Started using Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum. I think it broke me out. It's either that or the PMD. But I'm leaning towards the serum that's been breaking me out. It works good as a primer for my makeup but I've broken out i huge cystic zits on both my cheeks and on my chin. Slathered on some honey now and leaving it over night. It's the flu season so I've been really sick.
Been slacking on my vitamins. Definitely will start taking my Vitamin C, nicotinamide, and fish oil on a daily basis. Being sick left my skin peeling like crazy. I've been bed ridden this whole weekend so I've just been doing masks the whole weekend.
Friday night I left a honey mask on.
Saturday I steamed my face and put green tea leaves all over my face for the whole day. The leaves shrunk my cystic zits. Finished off with the Aztec Healing Clay at night then put more green tea leaves on the cystic zits.
Sunday I washed my face off and moisturized with jojoba oil and then did a yogurt mask at night. Used my pretika red light. I need a new one since I've had this for three years and it's falling apart =(. Unfortunately, pretika discontinued.
Need to restock on my peels. I feel like the TCA peels just aren't effective anymore. My blackheads are still there and my pores havent shrunk and my skin texture hasn't improved. It just dries my skin out a lot.
Still searching for a serum and daily SPF sunscreen that isn't too oily.
The huge cystic zit erupted on my nose probably formed Friday afternoon after a long outdoor event. I slathered on Cervae AM underneath my Cover Girl Tinted moisturizer. All the sweating mixed the sun lotion and TM was probably the perfect recipe for cystic zit. It was an underground pimple forming Friday and it erupted on Saturday. It's humongous and bright red.
Monday
Aspirin mask on cyst over night (no change Tuesday morning)
Tuesday
Green Tea mask, left green tea on cystic zit over night (No change wednesday morning)
Wednesday
Purchased Visine to remove redness

Will leave aztec mask over cystic zit over night
This cystic zit will not shrink or budge and it's driving me crazy. I can't remember the last time a zit popped up on my nose.
A cystic zit popped up underneath my chin which is so weird because I never break out there. The cystic zit on my nose has shrunk a little but it is still there and obvious. Came home and did an aztec clay healing mask and moisturized w/jojoba oil and then used aczone. I hope my vitamins come in soon. Really think that my break outs are attributed to not taking my vitamins for the past 4 months...
It's June. I had a slight accident w/my PMD end of May and ended up scraping off some skin unintentionally. Been breaking out on my chin, right cheek, and nose again. Derm gave me acanya. It feels like a higher dosage of Aczone so I've been using that lately. Using Nicazel instead of nicotinamide now since insurance doesn't cover.
Are you still using the TCA peel a couple of times a week?!
Any website or derm that you talk to would never advise to use them that often! It doesn't just exfoliate the top layer of skin, it is a controlled burn! They suggest 2 weeks between 8% and only 3 consecutive peels 4 weeks apart for anything higher percentage wise! They suggest that you only do that once or twice a year. Even MUAC, the website you ordered it from, has it all over their site AND the directions that they send along with the product. [Edited link out]
Also, TCA self neutralizes 5-8 minutes, so leaving it on longer does not make it more effective, it's just irritating your fragile skin.
I am quite literally cringing for poor skin.
To anyone else reading this, please do not use peels in this manner. Follow the directions that come along with the product.
I imagine that your skin barrier is completely obliterated and that's what's contributing to your acne.
Wow it's been almost half a year. I think because my skin cleared up i stopped posting. Last week a huge cystic zit erupted on the right side of my nose and forehead so I've been scrambling to treat it as quickly as possible. I want it gone by this weekend! I purchased a new toy the Tanda Luxe anti-aging light therapy. It's a lot more powerful then my pretika red light therapy. My poor pretika has lasted about 4 years now and has finally died out. I've been using the Tanda for two weeks now. I'll update next month to see how my skin has reacted to it. So far the results have been pretty good. I broke out on my chin due to PMS and the Tanda cleared up the break out there within a week.
My latest routine has eliminated the acids since I ran out and have not had the chance to reorder them.

I should've opted for the cortizone shot when I went to the Derm on Wednesday. This cystic zit on my nose hasn't budged for the past two weeks. I've tried everything on it. Asprin mask, honey mask, Aloe Vera plant (raw), clay mask, Tanda red light. But NADA. Last night I applied some aczone on it and proceeded to obliterate it with my Tanda Red light therapy. I just made the white stuff ooze out of the pores of the cystic pimple but it didn't shrink. Then I applied some honey on it and left it on over night. Researched Propolis. Will be looking into purchasing some of that next time I go to Whole Foods.
The cystic pimple on my nose is still there. It's deflated in size but still living. Three cystic pimples popped up on my left chin. They're so painful and raw it hurts. Been using the Tanda on my chin religiously so I was surprised when the zits erupted there. For some reason I don't think the power the Tanda red light is comparable to the Pretika. I feel like the pretika was stronger. I also read that the Atria red light trumps the Tanda and is more effective. Sigh.. too late now I've already purchased the Tanda and the blue light head is being shipped to my house as we speak. Went to Ulta today and purchased the Purity one step cleanser by philosophy as well as the Acne clarisonic brush head (it's the one with the green coloring). I read the reviews for the acne one and I thought it was be rougher or comparable to the normal one I was using. The bristles for the acne one is longer so it's less dense and is more gentler which I'm not use to since I was so accustomed to the normal brush head with the denser britles. I'll give the acne replacement head a try since I already purchased it from the store for $25 -_--
Came home today wiped of make up off with Jojoba oil on a cotton ball. Then rinsed face. Massaged philosophy Purity cleanser on to my face for 60 seconds and used my clarisonic with the acne brush head. Patted face dry. Applied honey all over face with q-tip. Left on for an hour while I ate dinner. Rinsed off honey and applied stonybrook organic low vanilla yogurt. My chin has been breaking out. It's all blotchy, tight, and dry feeling, with cystic zits erupting.
Last night I didn't use any retina just moisturized with Cervae PM and applied some Acanya to the cystic zits on my chin. This morning applied honey onto face then hopped into the shower. Steamed my face and showered. Then used the Personal Microderm to exfoliate. Applied yogurt to face afterwards to moisturize.
Purchased the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum duo [Edited link out]
I've been researching serums to incorporate into my night time routine and I've read good reviews about it. I was debating between the Caudalie and Estee Lauder serum. The Estee Lauder had alcohol in it and seemed to irritate reviewers skin so I opted out of of that. I also purchased the Philosophy Turbo Booster C. It's just a vitamin C powder to mix in w/my moisturizer. I'll start using that next week once I get a feel of the serum
Serum has definitely made my skin softer. Tanda blue light head arrived today. Excited to test the bad boy out. I have two cystic zits on my chin that has become full bloom. My period is ending now so maybe my chin will stop breaking out.
Was doing some reading and came across this. Blue light isn't effective on cystic acne. [Edited link out]
Cystic pimples on my chin have decreased in size and slowly healing. One on nose has flattened out but scar remains. Broke out small pimple on my left n right cheek. Caudalie serum has not reduced oiliness on tzone. Forehead texture is bumpy. Received .5mm microneedle will start using that soon. Continuing with blue and red tanda lights.
Skin has cleared up. I feel like my skin clears up when I go out of town don't do my regimen. All I do is wash face and apply moisturizer. My chin stopped breaking out an skin is calming down. My biggest problem is pore size and black heads. I use biore pore strips once every two weeks.
