Left my Cerave moisturizer last week at friends house so I've been experimenting with samples that I've received. Philosophy Hope in a Jar smells like plastic chemicals and is so heavy that I feel like it clogs my pores. The Miracle Worker moisturizer is slightly better and a bit lighter similar consistency like to the Cerave moisturizer but still has this plastic odor to it. I think the Hope in a Jar broke me out bc a small pimple popped on my forehead. The DDF ultra-lite oil-free moisturizing dew was not a good choice either. Felt heavy and smelled too. I'll stick to CeraVe PM my HG moisturizer. Also used the Kinerase C8 Peptide Serum and it was more of a moisturizer than serum. Thicker than my CeraVe. Almost like Cetaphil Moisturizer consistency. It was okay. Didn't break me out but didn't really see instant results either. I'll see how it goes. I have really seen any instant improvements witht the Caudalie either.

Two weeks ago cystic pimple broke out bt my eyebrows and right t-zone area by my nose, The pimple by my nose diminished when I used my blue light. Tanda was too big to use bt my eyebrows. Breaking out in small little bumps around my cheeks I think due to my MAC mineralized blush. Any time I use blush or bronzer I always break out. I haven't been able to find cheek products that do not break me out. My period finished but I still have scarring on my chin from all the break outs I had previously. Been using my PMD w/out the discs to suck the gunk out of my pores. Works better than the blackhead remover tool.
My process
Wash face
Apply Honey
Shower to steam face
Use PMD w/out disks to suck out bores press down with a little pressure and rotate downwards. You can see the white gunk coming out when you press down and being sucked away.
Aztec Healing Green Clay with ACV
I keep breaking out in cystic acne on my chin. =( It's so itchy. Worst time to break out just before a big event. Did the honey, aztec healing clay, yogurt mask, green tea scrub today in the evening. I've been doing oatmeal scrub every morning. Feel like the Caudalie serum is congesting my pores as well may have to discontinue w/that serum.
Discontinued the Caudalie Serum. Trying to recover my skin from a nasty breakout. Still breaking out on my chin. I think I"m dehydrated and not drinking enough water. Broke out on a pimple on my right cheek which weird since I haven't broken out on my cheeks in awhile. The MAC blush I've been using have contributed to the nasty break out. I had two events this month outdoors + humidity + makeup = clogged pores. Purchased Wedderspoon Manunka Active 16+ honey from wholefoods and I slathered that on my breakouts. My skin has been dull and dry and yucky feeling. I need to do an intense facial this weekend.
My skin is still suffering. I'm continually breaking out with big, red, painful, cystic zits on my chin. It's hormonal and I haven't been able to find a solution to it. My skin is really dry and dehydrated lately. Sun spots are appearing around my eyes. Still broken on my cheeks from the blush I used in April. Started applying the caudalie around the sunspots and the philosophy turbo vitamin c powder with my Cervae.

Did a TCA 12.5% peel Saturday, June 15th. Also ordered a batch of peels from MUAC. Including 18% TCA, 21% TCA, Mandelic Acid 25%, Radiance Peel, Salicylic Acid 25%, Gly-luronic Acid Serum. MUAC recommends waiting 3 weeks between peels.
I applied my Gly-Luronic Acid Serum on my nose and cheeks yesterday and that caused some minimal peeling. I finally purchased a sunscreen hopefully it doesn't break me out.
Purchased a new sunscreen. I feel like it's been causing some congestion on my forehead where I've been testing it out. Despite the fact that I cleanse really well at night it still seems like the sunscreen is clogging my pores.
AM Routine
Cleanse face w/Oatmeal scrub
Caudalie Viatimine cream for eyes
Ceraeve PM moisturizer
Juice Beauty SPF 30 Sport Moisturizer (purchased from Ulta. Comes out in a nude color instead of white)
CoverGirl BB Cream/Tinted Moisturizer
PM
Remove make up with Jojoba Oil
Massage face with Purity
Cleanse with Clarisonic (to make sure my sunscreen fully removed so it doesn't clog pores)
Murad Radiance Serum on forehead
Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum on sunspots around cheekbones
Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture For Eyes
Ceraeve PM moisturizer
The Salicylic Acid caused me to break out in white heads like crazy all over my face especially the skin on my chin was all cracked, dry, red, and breaking out in whiteheads. The thing that helped the most was the manuka honey. I wore that for two days and I helped calm my face down. My chin recovered nicely. After 5 days I applied Retin-a micro and the next day I broke w/minor whiteheads. I'm going to discontinue with the retin-a. It never helps me always just dries my skin out and breaks me out.
Did MUAC Mandelic Acid 25% yesterday.
I went to the dermatologist today and I had an appointment with the PA. She kept pushing me on antibiotics, birth control, accutane, and spiro. Her words "accutane is the closest thing to cure acne." I'm against all of her suggestions.
I've been breaking out on my chin w/those horrible deep cystic pimples. I also have a pimple on my forehead which may be a result from my sunscreen that I've been wearing. The only reason I went to the derm was to get a prescription refilled and I could only do that if I went to the Derm. Sigh. Paying for a derm office visit is a waste of money. I would rather use that money on my prescriptions but I can't my prescriptions unless I go to the derm. I spent more time waiting in the sitting room then actually speaking with the PA. I had to a prescription for nicotinamide since my insurance doesn't cover nicomide or nicazel anymore which I repeated several times to her during the appointment. However when I went to go pay for the copay I noticed on the prescription said nicomide and I once again reminded her that my insurance doesn't cover it and she argued with me saying well it's I've been using for the past 6 months and I told her no I haven't because they were never filled. It was just back and forth. Sigh I've been going to the same derm for over 10 years. Its probably time for a new one seeing I never did get any results. Google educated me more than my dermatologist ever did and google is free.
Read this blog and it was very helpful. Wiser words than my derm. http://www.paleoforwomen.com/hormonal-acne-where-its-coming-from-and-what-to-do-about-it/
"In all cases, I do not generally recommend that women get on BCP, as it can cause worse hormonal dysregulation in the long run (sort of like handicapping a delicate hormonal system), and does not solve the underlying problem."
It's been a week and I've been aggressively treating the 3 cystic pimples on my chin. They've gone down tremendously. Combining red light with the natural masks I've been using helped a lot. Been using the manuka honey mask w/turmeric, green tea leaves, greek yogurt w/turmeric, aspirin mask, and aloe vera. Not all at once but one treatment each day.
Aczone helps the swelling to flatten the pimples as well. My diet has been pretty clean as well since I locked myself in not wanting to out with these monsters on my chin.
All I at today was
Lunch
Turkey sandwich w/tomatoes
Ginseng Tea
Green smoothie = Organic spinach, chobani greek yogurt, blueberries, and local honey, almond milk plain
Chocolate dreams peanut butter spread on a sliced of wheat bread
Dinner
Green tea
Grilled salmon
Greek yogurt, honey, blueberries, granola
I should cut out wheat, carbs, pasta, rice from my diet. But it's really difficult.
Did a mandelic acid peel on my cheeks Friday and applied MUAC salicylic acid on my tzone nose, forehead, and chin. Applied MUAC mandelic acid today all over face. My chin is still recovering from the horomonal breakouts. I've been taking B12 super complex every day and drinking green tea every night.
Saturday night- Manuka honey mask with Turmeric on spots and scarring.
Sunday night- Aztec healing clay mask with ACV followed with a greek yogurt mask
I just want the scarring on my cheeks to go away.
Broke out in a cystic pimple on my chin. It finally emerged Sunday. I did a Salicyclic peel yesterday. Still lots of pigmentation on my chin and cheeks and enlarged on my tzone pores and uneven texture on my forehead.
I've been drinking green tea every night. Tonight I did a Manuka honey mask with Turmeric
Types of mask I rotate -sometimes I just do a combo of the ingredients
Wedderspoon Premium Manuka Honey Active 16+ (Turmeric)
Asprin Mask (Manuka Honey)
Green Tea Leaves Mask
Plain Greek Yogurt Mask (Turmeric)
Oatmeal Mask
Aztec Healing Clay Mask with Apple Cider Vinegear or Green Tea for a gentler mask
My favorite moisturizing one is Turmeric with the Manuka Honey.
I do the green tea leaves to try out a pimple

Went out of town last weekend so my regimen was slacking. I went to the beach last Saturday and used my the Juicy Organics Sport sunscreen. The sunscreen is pretty thick in texture actually. Between the sweat, sunscreen, and three hour drive from the beach without washing my face led to clogged pores on my cheeks. I'm expecting a crazy breakout emerging. Arrived home Saturday night, showered, and immediately slathered on some Manuka honey with turmeric onto my face to prevent any breakouts.
Sunday: Tanda red light therapy
Monday: Manuka Honey Mask w/turmeric
Tuesday: Aztech healing clay w/ACV, followed with Manuka honey mask w/turmeric
Wednesday: Greek yogurt mask w/Turmeric. Exuviance Triple Collagen Serum
Thursday: Manuka Honey Mask w/aspirin
I had a temporary reprieve from breaking out on my chin when I was on my period last week. Guess my horomones calmed down? My period is over and I broke out in three massive cystic pimples on my chin. My skin okay right now except for the continuous break outs on my chin. Applied aspirin mask on the spots now.
Hi SpeciousHope,
It's interesting to read that you have a fibroadenoma and have continuous cystic chin acne. I also have many in my one breast and persistent chin acne that is on the nodulocystic side. I'm not sure if that's the right term, but it is the painful, deep ones that eventually form pus. Like you, it tends to clear up on my period, then flares up the rest of the time (yay for acne beard...). I'm interested in knowing if you have ever gotten bloodwork done for your hormones (sorry if you've mentioned this somewhere already).
I'll be turning 22 this year; I hoped my hormones would've straightened out by now!
Been breaking out on my chin. Period begins 7/23.
