I don't know how long its been but I haven't been wearing foundation or tinted moisturizer on a daily basis for MONTHS. All through out summer since May I suppose. Make up is all in the head. You THINK you look disgusting without it out on but physically you don't look any difuaferent.

My skin is still not perfect. I still have black heads, enlarged pores, pigmentation, dry skin, and breaking out. Right now my regimen has been using GoW Mandelic acid at 15% on Mon, W. The rest of the time i use my Duac.

I've been sick for weeks now. I think almost 3. I must have some really bad virus or something. My eyelashes are growing from using the generic Latisse but I havent been keepin up with it daily. I skip days.

I'm on my period now so that my ahve explained my crazy break out last week. Also tried a new suncreen the Shesheido 55 spf from sephora. I think it broke me out. Trying to find a SPF that doesnt break me out. Olay breaks me out. Neutrogena sensitive skin sunblock 75 breaks me out

I forgot to change my signature but my routine currently is

Morning

Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser

Cetaphil Moisturizer

nicotinamide

fish oil

Night MWF

Cetaphil w/ Clarisonic

GoW mandelic acid

nicotnamixe

Night Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun

Cetaphil w/clarisonic

Duac

Cetaphil moisturizer (sometimes)

nicotinamide

Today I realized my skin is HORRIBLE. I went to a bathroom with different lighting and examined my face closely. I was horrified by the apperance of my skin. My blackeheads and pores were so enlarged and distinct that I couldn't continue looking.

I thought my skin was getting better but apparently not. Now I'm on the quest to achieve clear skin.

so many blackheads and enlarged pores. Using the TCA 8% PEEL and leaving it on over night. The mandelic acid is no longer effective =(

So far my routine has just been cleansing w/clarisonic and cetaphil at night and then applying MUAC 8% TCA peel and leaving it on over night. In the morning just wash with cetaphil by hand and apply AcZone and Cetaphil Moisturizer.

Did a yogurt and honey mask today. Then duac and moisturized with the Egyptian Magic. My skin has been peeling lately. I've been laying off the clarisonic just to give my skin a break.

Still frustrated with the black heads. TCA peel 8% and GoW mandelic acid 15% hasn't really done anything for my blackheads. Will purchase a higher dosage of TCA peel and I suppose wait until spring break to do the peel...

I purchased the Aztec Healing Clay green mask. Will try the mask on my day off.

Hello! I ran across your thread here and I just can't help but sympathize with you. I feel your pain!! It looks like you started this blog a year ago with almost no improvements.

Have you tried balancing your hormones at all? It seems my cystic acne is linked to hormonal activity. I've had cystic acne for a long time and here's what's been working for me so far: vegan diet (dairy is an especially horrid offender!) and 25mg zinc/day. I also use Dr. Bronner's lavender soap on my skin. It seems to like it :) My skin isn't perfect but it's improved noticeably with these changes. Oh, and not touching my face throughout the day also helps..although this is very difficult! :)

It seems that since your skin hasn't found much relief with the methods you've tried, I just wanted to give my 2 cents. I'm not an expert but I definitely feel your pain! I'm getting married in June and am doing anything to get my skin clear for the wedding. Right now I have terrible hyperpigmentation from my past acne breakouts...its so frustrating.

Let me know if you would like to know my full routine and I'll post it on here!

Hello! Thank you for your response. My acne has actually cleared up quiet a bit from when I started this blog. Right now I'm battling with blackheads and enlarged pores but occasionally a cystic pimple will pop up. I am struggling to find a good routine and my Nicotinamide has 25 mg of Zinc in it. Currently I'm experimenting with acids and peels to achieve perfect skin and get rid of my blackheads. Thank you for suggestions!!! I hope your skin finds some relief before your big day! Perhaps try some mandelic acid for your hyperpigmentation?

Right now I just have a cystic zit on my chin. My chin has been breaking out with white heads and cystic zits. I think it's because of my period but I never apply any make up on my chin.

Daily nightly routine is super long

Remove make up with Jojoba Oil

Wet face and apply Cetaphil cleanser

Clarisonic brush on face

Put on Crest White Strips for Thirty minutes

Use Pretika Light on face

Remove Crest strips

brush teeth

Apply Topicals (Alternate between TCA Peel, Mandelic Acid, and Duac

Apply Latisse onto eyelashes

Moisturize with Jojoba Oil or Cetaphil Lotion

Skin still relatively clear of acne. Just bumpy on my forehead and still dealing with enlarged pores, blackheads, and dry skin. My routine has changed a little bit I haven't really been consistent. I've been using the MUAC TCA Peels and Mandelic Acid peels as well as Retin-A, Duac and Aczone. I rotate among those products. I use Aczone in the me morning and rotate among the other products at night. Tonight I'm using the mandelic acid 25%. Went to the derm last week or two weeks ago.

Sorry for the the late responses. I just read my inbox messages from December 2010...lol

Clarisonic is not a necessity but it's helpful. You can achieve the same results with a electric oral b toothbrush and just purchase a "sensitive' brush head.

I recently gave some of my Retin-a samples to my bff. He loves its and says he see's a difference in his skin. Retin-a has not really done anything for me over the years. My derm insists that it helps unclog pores and prevent wrinkles but I haven't really noticed a difference in my skin using Retin-A. I still have enlarges pores and blackheads.

I think it's because I've been on so many medications for such long periods of time that my skin have become immune. I still continue to use Retin-A since my Derm strongly encourages. I've been on RAM on and off since middle school so for about 8 years now since I'm 22 now.

Seriously contemplating about purchasing ANSR beam. My poor pretika red light is about to die any day now. I'm not sure if the redbeam will help with blackheads and pores.

I really do not know what to do with my skin. It hasn't been improving. My forehead is still bumpy and I still have super enlarged noticeable blackheads in my T-zone area (Cheeks, nose). =(

Still on the quest to achieve flawless, blackhead free skin. I did MUAC Mandelic acid 25% tonight after my redlight therapy. I had fried calamari for dinner.

Regiment tonight

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

Clarisonic Brush

Pretika red light for 30 mins

MUAC 25% Mandelic Acid for 25 mins

Wash it off, Pat dry

Retin-A Micro

Jojoba Oil

I am still unable to get rid of these blackheads on my cheeks and nose that have been plaguing me for almost half of my life. It destroys my self-confidence. I will update daily now with my nightly routine alternating between the TCA peels and Mandelic Acid.

Did a complete honey mask today overnight. Burned my forehead and right cheek a little with the acids the other night. Probably bc I did the red light first and proceeded to use the acids. Not very bright -_-

The TCA 15% made me flake a little but I didn't really see a difference. Broke out on my chin. Did an Aztech Healing Clay Mask and finished it off with a yogurt mask today.

Ate a sweet potato and green smoothie (frozen chopped spinach, banana, cup of orginal flavor almond milk and a spoon of all natural dannon yogurt) today

Today I purchased a twist and roll tweezer (it's like a my spring it http://www.musingsofamuse.com/2010/02/beauty-most-unusual-twist-n-roll-tweezer.html ) to remove facial hair on my upper lip. It's an easier form of threading. I used it on my forehead to remove the baby hairs and I saw a difference on how my forehead lightened up. After my session with the twist and roll and I lathered my face with cetaphil and used my trusty clarisonic.

After I finished exfoliating my face I noticed my forehead was super shiny. I always thought shiny meant I did a really job exfoliating. To my surprise when I googled it; shiny skin means I exfoliated TOO MUCH. [Edited link out]

I was horrified. But still proceeded my MUAC TCA 12% peel for about ten minutes and then rinsed it off with baking soda and water. Moisturized with jojoba oil. Waited for an hour and then moisturized with egyptian magic cream. I read Renee's blog and I learned so much. Such as the importance of moisturizing at night regardless of how oily you may believe your skin to be. Also, that the concept of over exfoliation truly exists and I have been over exfoliating. I shouldn't use my clarisonic everyday. Perhaps I will use it once every other day or when I use foundation.
