Hi, AcneJean. I looked at the pictures of when your acne looked it worse, it looks a lot like how my face looked when I had a lot of zits. I felt like no one else had skin like mine. I'm going to use your shopping list of food and supplements. My skin has improved since I've been taking medication for hypothyroid. I also use a product called REN Clear-Calm Replenishing Night Serum. It's helped the redness and scarring, though not 100%. What is the name of the face peel that you use? I read that you like to use face peel to help with scarring and breakouts.
My skin still has breakouts, though mainly on my cheek and jaw area. I even recently had break outs on my forehead. I think I'm allergic to wheat/bread products, since I looked very bloated after eating any type of bread. It's very hard to not eat bread. I read that a product called Glutamine, is supposed to help your stomach digest bread, though I haven't tried it yet.
What's the name of the stores that sell the 'sprouted grain bread'? There's a natural health store, that's close to my house. I went to Trader Joes, though never seen 'sprouted grain bread'.
you have to keep positive.
otherwise you'll go insane.
i may have broken out badly but it isn't the end of the world.
there is redness by my mouth which might be from the alpha hydroxy so i should lay off it for a day to see any difference.
i do have painful and of course inflamed pimples on my jaw. it's most likely from the makeup primer. that really enrages me because i basically paid $15 to break out!
the tone everywhere else is very good and even so that surprises me and should take a positive.
yesterday i went grocery shopping and this is what i bought or already had:
sprouted grain bread [new. it tastes great.]
hormel sliced turkey without nitrates
turkey burgers
eggs [*the only breakfast meal i use. no cereal anymore.]
silk live yogurt[*]
bananas
plums
apples
grapes
blueberries
blackberries [new.]
almond milk [new.]
nuts
lettuce
carrots [new. i thought i was allergic to them but i guess not]
water
pomegranate, raspberry juice 100%
kiwi
beans
broccoli
i also bought ginger root and grape seed extract vitamins.
vitamin a,c,e,d
chromium
zinc
gse
ginger root
turmeric
flaxseed oil
fiber choice pills with added vitamins
alpha lipoic acid
magnesium
calcium
it's fine if i take all the others but i hate taking the a,c,e,d because they are separate.
i don't want to put the B complex back in because it says gluten. then again the bread most likely has gluten in it and i'm not tested for sensitivity. we'll see.
this is what i ate today:
breakfast
turkey burger
2 eggs
blue berries, banana, blackberries mixed with some soy live yogurt
green tea
-----
raspberry pom juice
-----
lunch
sprouted bread
lettuce
3 slices turkey
blueberries
carrots
it seems like a lot but i read how you need to eat more to get more bowel movements and it's not like i'm eating pizza.

I have used many peels. I have used salicylic acid, glycolic acid, tca, pumpkin peels. I don't recommend using peels if you have active acne.
Are you sure the serum you are using is not breaking you out? I would stop using it for a week and see if your skin changes at all. You never really know.
Please, get an allergy food test. It will tell you for sure if you have an allergy. It is very simple to do and fast.
The bread was called Ezekiel. It is sprouted WHEAT bread, therefore, I think you should avoid it.
Sorry I never got around to making a video. I don't think I can because Youtube hates my camera and it takes like an hour just to upload a 4 minute short video. I'd hate to see how it reacts with an 15 minute long video or something! I have a webcam, but not sure if that takes less memory.
Anyways, an update: Never had an actual pimple. Been having black heads/clogged pores, but it is bearable. This should be last month I'm on the antibiotic. I'll miss it.
One thing I have noticed is that when I got down to 106 pounds, all these pock marks I had never seen before popped up! Wth!! Yeah, so trying to gain weight to fill my face in.
Alright, so I wash off my makeup yesterday and feel a bump on the left side of my cheek. I think, "Oh no.. It's totally a cystic pimple." Thing is, I shouldn't be breaking out when on antibiotics and Spiro. I have eaten some crazy bad foods and put on makeup that should have broken me out, but didn't, so it is confusing me why this pimple formed. I think there is a smaller one forming on the other side, but not on the cheek.
Only thing that I did differently was use Mac Fix + spray. Oh well. Cortisone cream will flatten the cyst before it forms, so no big deal, just wondering why that happened.
Maybe it could that I used Ole Henriksen - Truth Serum. I got a sample of it and been using it on some areas. I am going to keep using it to see if I get a bad reaction. Maybe from touching my face too much and laying it on a pillow more freely. I used to avoid doing that in the past, but thought I could get away with it now.
Went on a date yesterday. The date was going downhill because I had a panic attack. I have social anxiety which I believe my acne is clearly connected to it. It ended up being a conversation about my social anxiety with him.
He asked me why I think I have it and I said because I am very insecure about my skin. He looked at me confusingly. He said, "What are you talking about..? Your skin looks fine to me." He seemed sincere in what he was saying. You know some people could say your skin looks fine with you having 20 cystic pimples on your face just to make you feel better. I did not have any acne on this date, just been insecure about the application/look of my makeup. Also because of my pock marks. He complimented me and told me he thinks I am blowing it up into something it is not. Idk. I thought I would mention on here because sometimes you really do blow things up with your skin since you become sensitive over time. For instance, one zit can ruin your whole week. Simple things like that should not be able to control your emotions.. but it does.
Got a travel size pack of Skinceuticals - Phyto Corrective Gel. I got it for $25. Hopefully it will help with my hyperpigmentation.
"Optimal for sensitive or problematic skin, this light oil-free gel contains botanical extracts with anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties to help soothe and calm irritated skin.
Phyto Corrective Gel also contains natural alternatives to hydroquinone and other chemical skin lighteners to help diminish the appearance of brown spots and promote a clear, fresh-looking complexion"
Aqua, Botanical Glycosides, Uva Ursi (Bearberry) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Extract, Bioflavonoids, Phenoxyethanol, Herbal Fragrance
Haven't updated in awhile..
I'm still on the antibiotics and Spironolactone. Something bad was happening in my body. While I was not breaking out, my digestion was horrible. Everything gave me horrible gas. If food touched my lips, I would have a bubbly feeling inside. It was constant. I resorted to drink activated charcoal for a couple days until someone suggested to VSL 3 probiotics. It has 225 billion of bacteria and 8 strains in two pills. They are the highest on the market. They are EXPENSIVE. It cost me $54 for a 60 day bottle. It is worth every penny if it helps my digestion out. I read the antibiotics can ruin it because it makes it too acidic. Because I was drinking activated charcoal, I wasn't able to take my BCP, antibiotics (didn't want to touch them anyways) and the Spiro. AC cancels/absorbs any medication in the body. I noticed in those couple of days my oily skin came back! All from missing a couple doses of Spiro. That shows me it is working. Good to notice that.
Positive: Not breaking out
Cons: Horrible and constant gas. Avoided eating in fear it would upset my intestines.
I know antibiotics are bad for you.
I am trying out air brushing makeup so I can ditch the Bare Minerals.
I am still using Phyto Corrective Gel mostly every day. I am halfway through a little sample vile. Can't say I see any improvements. I don't expect any, but it would be nice if any change happened.
Had a real meal yesterday with no "reaction" ie: incredibly gassy and bubbly stomach. I had the VSL packets (different than the pills. This one has 450 billion bacteria). No more antibiotic. Still on Spiro.
I updated my gallery with a photo of me out and with makeup. It is Bare Minerals. It makes everyone look like a disco ball with a flash. I don't suggest it if you're acne prone because it breaks a lot of people out, including me, but only if I'm not on the antibiotics and all that. It hid all my acne scars in my photos though!
Hey we are in the same boat! For the past year I've had a little battle with food but now I am finally coming around to becoming even more strict with it all. I had gastro-intestinal problems last year because of antibiotics/birth control candida thing going on. It was not so fun.
I'm going to try out Neem oil! I don't get large cysts, but I do get decent sized inflamed pimples. I can also really relate to how you are feeling about a pimple ruining your day. My skin is at a really low point right now but even last year when it was better I was never happy with it.
I wish you the best of luck and I'll to continue to follow your log!

How were you able to combat the stomach problems? Did it ever go away? Yes, I love neem oil for imflamed pimples.
Went to the doctor to get my side effects from the antibiotic checked out. I HAVE GASTRITIS. I knew it. I Googled before the doctor's office and that came up. All from an antibiotic. He prescribed Prilosec, which is like a heart burn medicine. It will help with the stomach acid, I guess. I have to see him again in 2 weeks. He said if it goes away, he wants to put me back on antibiotics. Wth? It would be great if I could stay on them since it stops ANY break out, but I don't want to have this problem or make it worse.
Another food allergy, it seems. I can't digest sugar well at all. Sort of a good thing though, I suppose. I can't even eat cereal without feeling sick. It affects my stomach the worst.
I am breaking out still, but it comes and goes. Pins are the most amazing thing for a cyst or pimple. Poke it and squeeze the puss out. If you do it with no preset hole, you'll risk rupturing the skin too much. Also, hydrocortisone cream is amazing for cysts too.
Still using Neutrogena's combo/normal skin moisturizer, Phyto gel (almost done with the first sample vial), and then wash my face with DHC cleansing oil to take makeup off. If I want the oil off my face like in the morning, I just use water on a cotton pad.
I tried liquid foundation last week. I am trying to end my addiction to Bare Minerals since that always breaks me out. I don't know if I like the ways it looks. It is different than powder.
I have a couple popped zits on my chin, but they aren't that big. I always get them before they form completely.
I use spring water on my face (instead of tap) and wonder if using Maple tree water will do anything. They actually sell Maple tree water for $3 for a nice sized bottle. I thought it was way more expensive, but I was wrong. Doubt it will really help my health even though the site claims it. It tastes like rain or if you ate a snowball. Someone online said it tasted like drinking from the hose, which I can also see true. I used it on one side of my face and it doesn't seem as tight as if I used Spring water.
Yeah. not using maple tree water. The side I used it on was redder at the end of the day.
My gastritis is acting back up. That's the dark side of antibiotics. You get to stop breaking out, but then you don't digest food well. Always something. I haven't touched the antibiotics for two months it seems now. Maybe longer.
My skin is just healing now from the popped zits.
For me, I have great news. I'm back on Othrotricyclen, not the Lo version. Thank goodness. I was so sick of the Lo. version. I wonder if because this one has the normal amount of hormones, it'll help my skin again. They say the Lo version is the same as the regular, but then why the heck would they even make one with that name? Blah.
Back on the generic Prilosec. Stomach isn't as crazy as it used to be. Can't imagine going back on antibiotics ugh.
I bought Bare Minerals Matte even though in the past, I tried it before and I didn't like it. I'm desperate.
I wear a Bare Minerals regular version and people are always surprised when I say my skin used to be bad. It's good for covering up marks, but it is very oily and shiny. And it always breaks me out, so it is pointless.
So right now I'm on Orthotricyclen, Spiro and generic Prilosec..
It's really weird that from the BM, I break out on my chin mostly and maybe the jaw line. I'd expect it to be all over like the cheeks or forehead.
