Uhh, I calculated my calorie intake and it's over 3,500. It's 3,480 just for the brown rice flour I live on. I have a weird habit of eating the same thing every single day even though I know it means I'm not getting the variety of vitamins and minerals from other foods but oh well!

It takes 3,500 calories to gain a pound yet I am not gaining weight! How strange. Must be because my diet is low in fat. I hate how I feel and how oily my skin gets when I have fat in my diet.

The green smoothies are so much more tolerable now. They don't fill me up though but I know I shouldn't combine the fruits/kale with another meal because of digestion times.

The Everyday Minerals in Golden Fair matches me very well from what I swatched on my face. I'd like to avoid any type of makeup unless I'm hanging out with someone.

Thanks, but I spoke too soon! I started breaking out on my chin randomly and was surprised by it. I didn't know why but then I pin pointed the bananas that I use in my green smoothies. That's the reason I stopped eating them in the past and I forgot. Oh well, no more green smoothies for me :(. But good news, the manuka oil I used to spot treat the pimples made the pimples go away overnight and a lot of irritation I had.

Yes, I have. I went through an entire jar of it. I didn't really like it because it burned my skin. It burned popped pimples even worse. I heard it's because it gives off hydrogen peroxide.

I bought pine bark extract

http://www.healthline.com/galecontent/pine-bark-extract

"Pine bark extract is used to reduce the risk and severity of heart disease, strokes, high cholesterol, and circulation problems. It is used in the nutritional treatment of varicose veins and edema, which is swelling in the body due to fluid retention and leakage of blood vessels. Arthritis and inflammation have also been improved in studies using pine bark extract, as well as the uncomfortable symptoms of PMS and menopause. The OPCs in pine bark extract are recommended for various eye conditions that are caused by blood vessel damage, such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. Pine bark extract is recommended to improve the health and smoothness of the skin, including damage caused by overexposure to sunlight. Pine bark extract is a supplement used for anti-aging and preventive care as well."

If you have adhd it should also help you too. I don't think I have it so I'm just using it for my skin. The cheapest and best buy I found was on ebay for $17 for 100 mg & 120 capsules.

I have used "magical" antioxidants in the past like astathaxian but that didn't work for me.

I'm still loving the grapeseed oil. I only use two drops on a wet face and it's enough. My skin looks red, dry and irritated if I don't use it.

I think I have to stop Acnomel. I put it on a pimple that I thought was coming up since it hurt when I poked it and when I washed it off an hour or so later, it was red, flamed and kinda itchy. It resembled a mosquito bite but I know I wasn't bit. This happened before too. I put it on another what I thought was a pimple and got the same reaction, a big red bump with no pus in it. I dabbed some honey on it and it went back to normal an hour later. No more of that then. :/

The manuka oil is also breaking me out, not in big pimples or anything. I can just tell it's making little clogged pores like I got from the neem oil. I guess I should only use it on a pimple and not as a precaution for pimples that haven't come up yet.

I may be talking about a lot of different products but I'm still using the items listed on the first page which isn't a lot. I'm still only taking zinc and birth control.

I'm going to try acai. Another "super fruit". I have eaten goji berries in the past which tasted nice but they had way too much sugar in them and didn't notice any positive difference in my skin so I stopped. I'll probably try the pine bark extract FIRST and if I don't like it then I'll try the acai. I read somewhere that one person had heightened allergies after taking pine bark because she was allergic to outside which I am also. (ragweed, dust, etc) So, I hope that doesn't do anything to me.

I got the Acai pills in the mail today. It's a nice surprise reading that it was recommended to be taken with Pycnogenol (pine bark extract) on the bottle. Haha. The acai is a source of vitamin c and pine bark extract is supposed to enhance it. I want to take each at different times so I can pin point if I feel worse but maybe I'll combine them.

No actual big pimples, just random little pin sized ones probably from sweating and using my shirt to clean my face. Bad idea but they'll be gone.

The pine bark hasn't come yet so I took the acai for two days now. I have been noticing a weird tingly sensation. I thought it was something else but then I read, "However you need not worry about this tingling sensation as according to the label of Acai, it is the increased blood flow that brings about this tingling sensation."

My face is pretty tingly. Not a bad thing, just odd.

Started the pine bark extract with acai today. No actual pimples but I'll be expecting some in the upcoming days because I ate a lot of sugary cookies :P

I guess my skin is too oily for grapeseed oil. The pin sized zits won't stop! I love how it tones the rest of my skin though and is light. I hated jojoba oil in the past so I'm not using that.

No big pimples still and I had the cookies on Sunday.

Someone suggest Kukui nut oil for a lighter oil to use on my face. I bought 1 oz cold pressed on ebay for $6.

I use a mixture of Hazelnut Oil and Borage Seed Oil to moisturise and it's lovely 🙂

Hazelnut Oil is usually recommended for oily skin as it is a light oil, is easily absorbed, and is also known for its astringent properties (I don't have oily skin, but my pores look smaller from using it)

And Borage Seed is known to be "regenerative" for the skin... not sure what that means, but my face always glows after using it!

Let me know how the Kukui nut oil goes, I'm thinking about trying that out when my Hazelnut oil runs out... xoxo

PS: this has heaps of information on carrier oils

Ooo thank you for suggesting something. I get so lost on oils. I never thought of borage oil other than people taking it internally but I'll look up both oils.

That's alright! I was meant to send you a link but it didn't come up 🙁 (I'm a newbie haha)

My mummah is really into aromatherapy, always has been - I was one of those kids who would get a cold and be treated with Eucalyptus oil instead of cough medicine - and I've kind of inherited it 🙂 I know what you mean about getting lost on oils though!! I'm still experimenting!!

I read through some of your posts, it was a good read 🙂 I'm a long time vegetarian CONSIDERING veganism, so it was really helpful!

Do you use some oils to spot treat pimples? I always stick with the trusty bp 10% but like oregano or manuka oil. if you're vegetarian, it should be easy to go vegan because you should be avoiding dairy right now anyways with acne. eggs give me acne too because of the iodine content so it's easy.

I have been trailing off my diet because a staple food in my diet wasn't in stock at my grocery store. I didn't even break out from those cookies! Pretty cool. I've had fast food yesterday and today so I'll wait to see on that. Still waiting on that oil. Maybe I'll start adding in oats because I stopped when it came up at the "highest" on my allergy test.

I'm trying to find somewhere online where I can buy some (small bottle) hazelnut oil so if anyone can suggest, thanks.

p.s- i want to add that i dont condone eating junk food and fast food. it may not show on the outside but inside it's doing it's damage. but everyone is allowed to cheat a little. :P

high fructose corn syrup. i've read eggs are bad but you can search to be sure and most likely cheese too since it's dairy.

i have posted a list of foods they recommend.

http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php...p;#entry2314556

As far as a vegan diet/argument goes, dairy is much worse for you than eggs. Human beings have only been eating dairy for about 10,000 years, which isn't enough time to be able to fully process the food. Also, the only people who have been eating dairy this long are of northern european descent; other people didn't incorporate dairy until much later, and most of the world can't digest dairy properly or have allergies to dairy or are lactose intollerant. I mean, when you think about it, it seems kind of wrong for a human to drink milk meant for baby cows. Baby cows have quite different nutritional needs than us--they need lots of fat, lots of vitamins, etc concentrated in a relatively small amount of food. DON'T GET ME WRONG, cheese is delicious. it really is, but not so good for you.

Eggs, on the other hand, humans have been eating forever, basically (anatomically modern humans, that is--and we've only existed for about 200,000 yrs. that's nothing!). Eggs have lots of minerals, are high in protein, and considering how much they fill you up, low in calories. You just can't go overboard with eggs. And don't fry them if you're worried about fat! Eat them poached or hardboiled. I eat a hardboiled egg every once in a while when i feel i need a little extra protein.

I suggested it because my skin can't handle the eggs. I had them in my diet in the past and I would get nasty break outs. I believe it's from the iodine in it. I seem to be sensitive to foods with it. Probably one of the reason I break out eating salmon, soy and dairy.

I use tea-tree to spot treat! It works for me, but I do find it a bit drying because I don't dilute it hah... I probably should!

I want to try oregano oil!! In my essential oil kit atm is: Lavender, Lemon, Geranium, Rosemary, Clary-Sage, and Eucylyptus radiata. Do you have any other oils from your personal experience you would recommend??

Using geranium/lemon as a whole face treatment seems to make my skin glow.. I only use one-two drops for my whole face though!!

As for where to buy Hazelnut oil... hmm... I buy mine from Sydney Essential Oil Co which is online, they are the most reasonable with price and offer heaps of certified organic products. I live in Brisbane though.. I think you could try and track down a good aromatherapy place based in your country and go from there??

I've used tea tree oil in the past but didn't like it. Manuka oil is supposed to be similar but less drying. I haven't gone that far with essential oils. I have bought lavender oil but then I read it can mess up your hormones and photosensitive so I didn't use it more than once and don't remember if I got any results. I have bought peppermint oil too because it's supposed to help with oil control but it's also a skin irritant. Oregano oil has to be diluted a lot or it'll burn easily, otherwise I like it for it's antibacterial properties. It can take down a zit fast. I heard it's good to take internally but I'm not going to.

It's fine, I bought some hazelnut oil on ebay that was cold pressed :).

Hmm, I might try out Manuka oil next!! Thanks for that 🙂

The ones I listed is the first set of essential oils I bought, so I'm still experimenting with them!

Lavender doesn't do anything for me acne wise, really.. I just love the scent, and I love putting it on my pillow haha. It's meant to be great for other things too, like burns, mosquito bites, etc... but for skin care it's pretty useless (from my experience). But jeez, how does it mess up your hormones?! That's a bit scary, haha.

I've stolen my mums peppermint oil before, I only used it once so the jurys out but I love the smell hehe!

Oh okay that's awesome!! Did you end up trying kukui nut oil?? xoxo

PS: sorry for my lengthy posts haha, I'm a ranter 🙁

"The tests showed that lavender and tea tree oils may boost estrogen (a sex hormone that promotes female characteristics and is linked to breast development) and hamper androgens (sex hormones that promote male characteristics and inhibit breast growth)." I don't need anymore hormones! (even though lowering androgens is a good thing for acne..)

No, I haven't gotten the oils yet. I guess it's going to be longer since it's a holiday weekend here.

I was reading a health blog and she went on talking about how your skin absorbs everything you put on it. That's why some hormone creams, medicines or patches like with birth control or smoking works through the skin. Pretty scary thinking about all the stuff people (including myself) have put on their faces or body. Maybe that's why cancer is so high. I remember reading how some beauty product chemicals are found in tumors. That's a reason to not use cheap makeup online that is made from China. There's a website that has a pallet everyone loves but the ingredients are nasty. Same thing with foundations or lotions. It makes me want to only use organic products but I know it's pricey.

Idk, I thought I would share because it shocks me to realize it and will bring me more awareness when shopping at a drugstore and thinking of using some chemical laden body moisturizer with names I can't even pronounce.
