There aren't any trader joe's around here :(. What are the ingredients in the soap? I avoid s.a and b.p washes also because it's too irritating.

I used to be on medication for social anxiety and I know it's 99% connected to my acne and self-esteem. I'm not on the pills anymore and feel a lot better but each person is different.

I would go to a library and find a book on acne and diet. Dr. Perricone was the first acne/diet book I read and it opened my eyes. He talks about inflammation foods and other things. I don't eat salmon which is says is the main thing for his diet because of the iodine content in salmon.

I'm back! I had to buy another pack of the soap because I ran out so here are the ingredients: Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Water, Glycerin, Tea Tree Oil, Sodium Chloride, Pentasodium Pentetate.

Are any of those ingredients bad?

How funny, I have Dr. Perricone's book! I bought it when I went through my terrible cystic breakout in January. I tried to follow his diet, but not to the letter. It got too expensive to buy wild salmon though. I do really like salmon and I would eat it more often, but it's not very cost-efficient.

No, I think the soap is fine. Some of the ingredients might be harsh but if it works for you then that's all that matters. I don't like TTO. It burned my skin too much even when diluted. I don't think I need to dry out my skin. I like that the soap doesn't have coconut oil in it. I might look into it.

16 oz of salmon cost me $4 a week. Not a lot but I'm not a big fan of salmon. I always thought when I ate it my skin would become oilier. It might have been from the omega 3 fats. I get huge cystic zits when I take fish oils.

Wow. The Radiance Day Creme made my skin SO SOFT. I washed my face last night and it literally shocked me how it felt like silk.

The acne pock marks really bring me down. I never realized how bad they have gotten. I asked a doctor's office I have been to before and their TCA peels are $400 each session. I'm not looking for a miracle but there are no natural ways to help pock marks. I'm so not doing it by myself. I already learned my lesson doing a peel at home because I broke out in cystic acne everywhere I put it!

The only new breakout I have are locations I can trace back to accidentally touching my face or my blanket. I'm sure slathering on Neosporin over an irritated/burn part of my face added some break outs. White petroleum clogs my pores. I had ground turkey yesterday.

One place says their chemical peels are $100-$165 yet other places have said $1500 and $400! Confusing.

I am glad the blackheads on my forehead are gone.. last time I checked. I started using the Green Tea AcneFree lotion on my nose and forehead. Hopefully it'll stop some oil like it says because my makeup looks like a total greasy mess in this weather!

Oh and I just bought Ayush Herb Face Pack online. It contains:

Neem

Manjishta

Tumeric powder

Indian glacial clay

Rose powder

Mentha piperita

Sandal wood powder

I'm a little worried about the peppermint. That's probably it.

I had a pimple coming up and I dabbed oregano oil on it and the next time I checked the mirror, it was gone. Pretty nice.

This is a picture I took today with makeup on:

I'm not sure if a chemical peel will take away the pock marks. I only have them bad on that one side. Odd.

Is that what pock marks look like? If so, then I have a lot of them on my right cheek where I break out the most, and some on my left cheek. I'll try to take a picture that will accurately portray them. Where did you take your picture, inside, natural light?

Yeah, they have different names/types though like ice pick scars, rolling, box scars. It was right in front of a window. In natural light they tend to show up more in pictures because of the sun being overhead.

The rice cheese I have been using has iodine ingredients. Soy, agar agar and carrageenan is positive for iodine. Yes, I know iodine is an essential mineral but for acne it is bad.

Avoid These Foods and Ingredients

a Iodized salt, sea salt, and any foods containing

iodized salt and sea salt.

a Seafood and sea products (fish, shellfish, seaweed,

seaweed tablets, carrageenan, agar-agar,

alginate, nori and other sea-based foods or

ingredients).

a Dairy products of any kind (milk, cheese, yogurt,

butter, ice cream).

a Egg yolks or whole eggs or foods containing whole

eggs.

a Bakery products containing iodine/iodate dough

conditioners or high-iodine ingredients. Lowiodine

homemade and commercial baked goods

are fine.

a Red Dye #3. (E127 in the UK)

a Most Chocolate (due to milk content). Cocoa powder

and some dark chocolates are allowed.

a Some molasses (if sulfured, such as blackstrap

molasses). Unsulfured molasses, which is more

common, is okay. Sulfur is a term used on labels

and does not relate to iodine.

a Soybeans and soybean products such as tofu, TVP,

soy milk, soy sauce. The NIH diet says to avoid

some other beans: red kidney beans, lima beans,

navy beans, pinto beans, and cowpeas.

a On some diets, rhubarb and potato skins (inside of the

potato is fine).

a Iodine-containing vitamins and food supplements.

a Some beans besides soybeans. The National Institutes of Health diet says to avoid these beans: red

kidney beans, lima beans, navy beans, pinto beans, and cowpeas. Other diets do not limit beans.

I have my acne light & mini zeno on major discount.

I read that Stevia extract can heal wounds and kill a pimple. I tried it but I wanted BP instead because I didn't want to fool around.

I had a pretty big flare up on my chin and all of my pimples I have gotten are from hitting my face accidentally lol. Even when I itch my nose I got one under it. Just shows even washing your hands can't be enough. I slathered BP 10% all over where I normally break out. No harsh drying out. That'll probably be an every night thing for prevention. None of them were cystic though. I'm keeping meat out of my diet by the way.

This month I'll be 21. I hope this will end soon. I mean, I have it under control A LOT more than a year ago and having these hyperpigmentation from the past makes it seem worse than it is. The chemical peel lady can't be contacted till next week. Argh.

Skin is doing well. Some clogged pores but no cystic ones at all. Removing sugar from my diet completely might be the reason for better results. I used to eat apples and jams but not this week. I have started taking 2 probiotics instead of 1 before meals two.

I have been drinking 1 gallon of water a day. I used to only be able to drink 1/2.

i'm still trying to give away my acne light and zeno!

hmmmmmm. i am getting more random little clogged pores and i am not happy! i suppose it's from the burt bees lotion. it seems too rich even when i apply it wet to my skin and only a finger tip amount.

i ordered dermalogica active moist lotion. i am worried because it has dimethicone but the reviews are so good for it. i'm calling the lady tomorrow about the chemical peels. hopefully i can set up an appointment :)!!

last week i ate soy.dairy.gluten free chocolate chips and i don't see any big zits so that's surprising. the chips tasted great and i put them in my spelt pancakes.

I sold my Mini Zeno.

I got a zit on my chin but I know it's hormonal. I put a hot cloth over it for two days, it came head and popped by itself so I had to pop it more which I hate. I put some neosporin on it and it is healing now.

I got another zit on the right side of my face and a zit on each side of my lip. The one above my lip is going to be those HUGE zits that I used to get a year ago and is probably hormonal.

I got my Dermalogica Active Moist. I'm scared to put it all over my face! I'll just start slow by putting on my forehead and t-zone.

TUESDAY IS MY CHEMICAL PEEL!

I was living off spelt flour for like the last month for but for about two weeks I always had a gassy stomach and didn't know if it was my probiotic or the flour. I took it out of my diet and no more gas. I switched it to brown rice flour and it's nice.

Ouch. Don't use Aloe on a popped zit unless it's 100% and doesn't have citric acid as a preservative. I got a nasty burn from it.

I don't know if it was from the hot wash cloth alone or the Manuka honey but the big painful zit that was above my lip might be gone.

I am oddly getting little breakouts on the apples of my cheeks. Must be from the blush I use but the ingredients aren't that fishy. The active moist is going fine. I haven't put it all over but just on the t-zones and a little bit on the sides of my face and no greasy film anymore.

Two more days till my chemical peel. I am so nervous. I have no idea what type of peel or how much pain I'll be in. People who got a TCA peel looked like they were in hell.

Chemical peel tomorrow. I got a lot of breakouts across my forehead and cheeks but they're just red bumps. I think it's from me always itching there. I guess a bad habit. I bought some raw honey (not manuka) and left it over the irritation. I left it on for a couple hours and when I washed it off a lot of the redness was gone. For me, Manuka honey always burned or I just didn't see any difference.

I went to the office today. She seemed very hesitant to use a chemical peel on my skin because it is "young" which I can understand. She said my acne wasn't bad and barely had any.

She used microdermabrasion instead and I was expecting that to hurt but it didn't AT ALL! I was disappointed in it. I bet I could have gotten the same results from using smaller grained sugar and rubbing it on my skin. Oh well, atleast now I can say I tried it. The lady was nice enough to give me 50% off so it was only $50.

I don't plan on seeing any difference in my skin with that. I may even break out from it. She gave me Biomedic samples and they have amazing reviews even though the ingredients are on the "bad" list. I tried the cleanser on half my face so we'll see. I also got the conditioning toner and it was fine and didn't burn.

I might go back next week and try a glycolic peel.

Yay! I have another appointment next Tuesday. No new breakouts from the Biomedic wash. It makes my skin softer on the side I used it on. Not sure if it takes off makeup since I haven't worn it.

I am going to try and get microdermabrasion along with a glycolic peel.

Holy moly. Looking at old photos are horrible. I am so glad I don't break out like that anymore!!!!

Disgusting. That was from spirulina.

That was in 2007. No more big zits like that.

No big cheek acne either (notice the huge soda in the photo)

Today:

Front:

No inflammation! My face would always be red as if I was in a constant panic attack or was running a mile but now it's better.

Side:

(close up):

Other side:

To show pock marks:

It really does confuse me why a month ago (maybe) I would break out yet now I'm really not. Is it because I'm taking a probiotic with my meal? Is it the added sprouts with every meal? I haven't been really avoiding my allergy list 100% because I have been eating brown -->rice<-- flour. For me, tomatoes were a big culprit for break outs. When I was in Chicago for a week in May I ate a bowl of pasta with tomato sauce everyday and left Chicago with cystic acne. I love tomato sauce so much too.

I also lowered my fat intake from the past. Flaxseed or fish oils do NOT mix well for me. I guess I don't digest fat properly. Eating too much fat even healthy can raise hormones.

Wow. No chemical peel. The lady said she wouldn't do it on my skin because she believes it'll just create more inflammation (duh) and not work. However, she did suggest DERMABRASION AND ILP LASER. Ok, she doesn't want something as harsh as a chemical peel but she'd want a router tool to go across my face for dermabrasion or a laser that people have reviewed that it burned their face or created more hyperpigmentation?

I just thought that was funny. Oh well. I saved an hour drive, gas money and money on the procedure.

I ordered Naked Bee Facial Moisturizer SPF 18 for $13 and I might get it by next week. I also ordered Daisy Glow Serum from skincare central and it is known to lighten pigmentation. That was $22.

I tried the Radiance Day Creme again and it broke me out in little zits. Shame. The Dermalogica isn't giving moisture either.

My skin looks really nice imo regardless of the tiny zit.

Ok well I don't drink tea anymore. It's a slippery and confusing slope with finding a tea that may help. I don't really like the taste to keep up with it. Neem oil did clog my pores if I slathered it on my face. I only use it unless I get a huge cystic zit which hasn't been since May. Sea salt = grocery store.

Oh my gosh! I was looking through my acne log and I found a picture of my skin exactly 1 year ago today. Looking at the products I was using and what I was eating was cringe worthy also. Then again, in late July 2008 is when I really started changing my diet.

1 year ago (look at those sores!)

I can't believe that red mark on the left photo is still there a year later.

The Naked Bee SPF18 lotion has cocoa butter and some other ingredients that might break me out. Boo hoo. It was only $13 though. I'm still going to apply it but on the sides of my face and t-zone to see if I do break out.

I ordered Triple C Serum 1 oz from the same place I ordered the Daisy Serum. The website I'm on always raves about Vitamin C and it should really help my skin too. Hopefully it doesn't burn too much though. It was pricey at $42 but it's going to be expensive for good Vitamin C and 1 oz is enough. Hopefully I get the serum by next week. The Daisy Serum won't be back till August.

I currently only use the Biomedic wash and the AcneFree green tea lotion since the Active Moist gives no moisture and the Radiance Day Creme breaks me out.

Lovelyyyyyyyyyyyyy, the Naked Bee SPF broke me out. It took maybe 2-3 days to notice little zits popping up where I put it. Good thing I only used it on the sides of my face where I don't break out anymore unless it's a product's fault. Thankfully oregano oil zapped those zits. It really flattened them and NONE of them came up to head. Oregano kills bacteria. No drying except a little burning for maybe 5 minutes and then it's gone.

I'm going back to oils but just for a little bit. Pretty amazing how a drop can moisturize my face more than any lotion but oils don't work well with mineral makeup.

I'm getting the Triple C Serum in the mail today. Hopefully it doesn't irritate my skin.
