ok cool. well today i had a break out on my cheeks but it was nt to bad. did you all get this to. im thinking since my forehead is nowhere near was oily as my cheeks and i never put anything on it it has to be because of what ive been putting on it. i usualy let cold water run down my face iun the shower like 10 seconds a night is this bad?

No, it's not bad. If it's working, stick to it. If you still don't see results in a month, try no water at all.

Is this a long term solution to acne and oily skin? Once the oil decreases will it stay like that?

Yes, it is. The main thing to get clear is to try and not touch your face. When the deadskin mask comes, its not going to be fun haha. It sucks cause its brown and kind of noticable but if you dont touch it, it heals faster. I don't wash my face and i feel it works better because the mask stays on your face and heals instead of getting washed off and returning. i know i wrote a little more than expected haha but im just giving you some advice. If you have any questions pm me.

I understand that. But Im not always going to have a deadskin mask on my face. How many weeks before the dead skin mask is through with? Im willing to go through it once or twice but not more than that. Once your skin heals and you start beginning to lightly wash with water again, does it still come back?

The dead skin mask can last months on your face, it lasted two on mine but i took it off and it came back >.<. I'm not sure, I didnt have success with this yet. I'm still waiting for the mask to come off and then see what happens.

Yea IMO the dead skin mask will only come back if you removed it too early and your face still needs time to heal. I still have the dead skin mask in some areas but it's not as nearly as bad as it was a month ago. Also, can anyone help me. I used to have completely clear skin and started using this 2% Salicylic Acid acne wash and washed twice a day sometimes more for a few months and my face now looks like a have a horrible sunburn. I'm talking deadskin mask, some pimples, (maybe 2-3 on whole face) and very red, damaged and unhealthy looking skin. I've been reading on Salicylic Acid and it said that Salicylic Acid if used too much actually mimics what a sunburn does to your skin, and I was wondering since Aloe Vera is used to treat bad sunburns and bad skin should aloe vera help heal my skin? Any input on Aloe Vera including your experience will help. Reading all this I went out and got this stuff from Vitamin Shoppe called Aubrey's Organic Pure Aloe Vera and it says it is all natural and the only ingredients are Aloe Vera and some like Grapefruit extract or something which only contains Vitamins C & E. And it is also different because it contains no thickeners to make it a gel so it is liquid it's kinda weird but at least I know it doesn't have all these chemicals and it shouldn't make things worse. Anyways, any input on Aloe Vera is helpful, thanks.

The same thing happened to me i didnt even have pimples but i used salicylic acid too much and it made my cheeks and nose look like i was sunburned. I'm not sure about the Aloe Vera but i just took the mask off of my cheeks and theyre a bit red so im thinking about putting some on it. When i got real sunburn over the summer i used it and it worked pretty well so give it a try.

Thanks. Yea but I have been applying the Aloe Vera 2-3 times a day for the past couple days and have actually noticed a little improvement in redness but not dead skin. Skin still got that "sunburnt" look but the redness is lessening little by little I am noticing. Surprised to see what my skin will look lke after a week or two and especially after a month. Hopefully this is what it'll take to finally help heal my skin. Because seriously I don't even really have pimples my whole face just looks really sunburnt and has dead skin patches and pigmentation in some places is uneven. I haven't used any cleanser containing SA or any other harsh chemical in about a little over 2 months, but I keep reading on the internet that Aloe vera plant has SA in it along with other chemicals, is this true?

Thats very good. Have you noticed that when you wake up the deadskin is flaky as if you touched it or rubbed your face on your pillow in your sleep? And,there's 6 antiseptic agents in aloe vera and SA is one of them.

Hi! :D I just wanted to stay I stoped washing my face also. I have been using Cetaphil at first but it has been irritating my skin! I ended up trying The oil cleansing method yesterday night for the first time, and while I did it, it took off my dead skin while I rubbed the oil in. I am going to see how this works!

It helps people with acne due to irritation..

Yea that's what the skin looks like when I wake up in the mornings. Like it's not completely off but it lokos like it is barely attached and ready to some off. Using this Aloe Vera I've also noticed that thee areas that were red and irritated aren't as red and it looks like there is dead skin forming over them. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing?

That's a good thing. When the deadskin comes back and you put the aloe vera on, in my opinion, i think it'll work even better.

Hey guys, I've been following this thread for a while now as a guest but I thought I would finally share my experience since I've been felling kinda down. I had nice skin up until I was maybe 18/19 (22 now). When I was younger I would only wash my face with warm water and a wash cloth but my skin was pretty nice. I might have gotten one or two small pimples that would go away in a few days.l I have also had oily skin since I was 13. A couple of years ago my face suddeny exploded with nasty pustule type acne. Of course I panicked and ever since have been trying all sorts of things to get my acne under control. I tried Dan's regimen which worked for a while but I believe it(and all the products I used in the past) has damaged my skin in the long term. It seems now whenever I get a pimple, no matter how small, I get a red mark that lasts for months afterward. I've tried a lot of things but my skin keeps going into bouts of these sudden breakouts. I have been trying the no wash regimen for almost 2 months but lately I've been cheating.... Initially I had a lot of purging on my chin. Right now my skin tone looks better but because of my natural oils moisturizing my skin but it feels terrible and I have a whole lot of red marks. My skin feels really tender and sensitive. It is very rough to the touch. If I gently scratch my skin (to check the dead skin mask) an incredible amount of skin comes up. Is this the same for other people? Lately I've been letting the water in the shower stream down my face and afterward I used a damp towel to wipe away the dead skin build up. I did this twice a week for the past three weeks. I don't recommend doing that to the other people here though. If anything it just irritated my skin and the skin build up came back.

So here's my problem which I don't know what I should do about. I know I have keratosis pilaris which means my skin doesn't shed skin cells quickly enough. I think I may have seborrheic dermatitis as well. My eyebrows, and upper lip and recently(past month) my forehead have been itching and these areas are breaking out as well. I remember that when my chin was purging it was soo itchy as well. I just tried using the ZNP bar today but I'm afraid I'm getting sucked into using products again. I'm not sure what to do. Should I just drop everything and hope my skin eventually fixes itself? Or do you think I should try something because I know I have keratosis pilaris and seborrheic dermatitis which complicate things :/ My acne/red marks recently have really stripped me of my self esteem... my brother looked at my skin and said it looks like a glazed donut and that I look like I have a beard and mustache of red marks (I'm a girl too!).. I know he's only teasing but it hurts.... :(

Anyway I was thinking maybe I should try out the ZNP bar for a bit and see if it has any effect. It's only meant to be used a few times a week so I'm going to try using it only one every 5 or so days to see if it resolves the itching. I also recently bought a zinc supplement because I stopped eating meat.

Hey everyone, I started this 2 days ago. i dont have acne just a few pimples here and there. I've used a lot of SA products so my face has a sunburnt look, (red nose and inner cheeks.) It looks as if the skin was stripped or irritated, i guess SA has that effect. Im just curious, will this no washing help my skin heal itself and get back my normal skin color?

I have this same problem. But yea that's the pretty much overall goal of this whole regimen is to stop irritating your skin and letting it heal itself back to normal.

So after a week of applying Aloe Vera to my face I've noticed that the redness has went down a little and that dead skin had been forming over the red spots. No huge changes really other than that. Oh well I will keep applying Aloe Vera about 2-3 times a day for another week and see what happens.

That's good jmaaan :surprised: . My skin is looking better, 2 small whiteheads on my left cheek, a few red marks, and redness on my inner cheeks but thats going down and I feel the deadskin coming back. My nose is a little pink with deadskin and my forehead is pretty much clear with deadskin. I just hate when I wake up and my skin is flaky because of me touching it or something in my sleep -_-.

Yea same here. I always wake up with the dead skin barely attached and it flakes off. Does anyone know if too much Aloe Vera is a bad thing for your skin?

Well since SA is one of the agents, its not like the best thing but it's okay for your skin. Try using it once a day and see what happens.

Ok already used twice today but starting tomorrow will do. I will put it on once in the morning after I get out of the shower and that's it.
