My face is looking a lot better these days except the blackheads on my nose.My sunburn is very itchy now and I pray it doesnt scar
It must feel SO good for you to have great skin now! I was checking in to see how your sunburn was doing and I'm sure it won't scar. It will just peel away the layers of skin until you have fresh new baby skin underneath lol just like you gave yourself a little chemical peel! Did it at least turn somewhat tan for you to enjoy lol?!?

The lower parts of my arms are tan but the top is red, flaky and very itchy. I feel like I am crawling out of my own skin
ugh I can only imagine how that must feel, especially since your skin can get very itchy normally! Just be sure you keep using your fav moisturizer on your arms that you love bc that will help to keep your skin looking and feeling the best it can while it's going through its peely stage. haha I remember when I would see some people with reallllllly sunburned backs that were massively peeling - it looked like a snake shedding lol! It's just a good thing your oven burn wasn't affected by it! Enjoy your weekend!
My sunburn isnt itching as much today and its healing quite nicely. It is just taking longer than I thought though. The sunburn happened not last thursday but the thursday before that
I have a big two headed pustule. I applied the bp to it (Im getting used to the bp because I skipped a day and now Im back to using it only at night) and then I moisturized and then I applied the skinceuticals masque to it. I will let the masque sit on it over night.
hi there, maybe if you are wanting to wean off the antibiotic, you go to every other day for a while and then every 2 days, etc., etc., give your body a chance to adjust. Just a thought.....
I changed my mind and I started it back up again. I will probably be on it for six months total. On the fifth month is when I will start weaning off of it.
As Dawn suggested, weaning off slowly is probably your best bet. Get your skin nice and clear again using the regimen that has worked the best for you. Then, slowly wean off the Septra in approx two-week intervals. You might actually find you don't need to take it as often, or hopefully, not at all! Also, even though you might break out more often than when you were on the Septra, your breakouts might not be as bad as they originally were so you would be able to maintain good skin through usage of your topicals! That would be great!
Yeah, antibiotics won't help with blackheads at all (since there isn't any bacteria involved with blackhead formation).
I hope you stay clear off the medcation! How long had you been on the Setpra? It doesn't seem like you have been on it very long? You might want to take a probiotic in order to replenish the "good" bacteria in the gut that the antibiotics kill off.

I was on septra for about four months. The reason Im off of it now is because I ran out of it 😆 and the pharmacy isnt close to my apartment. I will have go on my day off to get it. I dont know when that will be.

Ah, so this is only a brief hiatus from the medcation then? I'd still recommend a probiotic, You can take it while you are taking antibiotics. I wish I had done then when I was on tetracycline for all that time.

haha I thought you stopped bc you wanted to again lol. Well then, this will be the PERFECT time to give it a try simply bc you can't get it!!! Good luck!

lol thank you sweetie
I am very sad As much as I love SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser I have to stop using it because of money problems. I only know of a plaec where I can order it on line and its quite expensive. Plus, I only use a credit card on line. I dont really like paying with credit cards. I like debit cards because the money is taken out of my account pretty much right away, whereas with a credit card, I have to pay it off later. I went to Nordstrom today and Im gonna try the Mario Badescu Acne Cleanser. It also has salicylic acid in it but its 6oz for $16 and I get to pay for it with my debit card. I also bought from a kiosk a peel called Onsen Pure A-Peel. I was able to convince them to give it to me for $29.00 but on line its almost $89. Thats ridiculous for 1.7 oz!
In about half an hour, Im gonna take my first septra again
I was thinking about this goal of yours to eventually stop taking antibiotics. Once you get your skin back to looking happy and clear, the way you have been on your regimen, if you want to try and eliminate the Septra, just go about it slowly. There might then come a point where you notice you don't have to take it at all bc the topicals are working fine, OR, you might need to take it, just not as often as twice daily. Also, keep in mind that your skin will change at different times of the year, and even different times in your life, just as it changes at different times of the month. I think if you arm yourself with products that help you get through breakouts quickly and without much fanfare, you will be able to (hopefully) ease up on the amount of Septra you take, having achieved your goal! Just don't get frustrated if it doesn't happen as quickly as you would like. Taking care of your skin the best way you know how is really a lifelong goal; and believe it or not, if you look at it in a certain light, it can even be fun!
