Even though you have to switch insurance companies, you might still get to keep your doctors. Be sure you check that stuff out before you switch around. I know we need to work on our health care system in the states bc there are far too many people without insurance, and the price of purchasing your own insurance, plus the price companies have to pay to keep their employees insured, is astronomical. BUT, you have to carefully evalutate the health care systems in other countries, and their overall economic state, to thoroughly determine what would be best for our country. A lot of times they can't see who they want either, and they have to have certain procedures done in certain hospitals, and you don't get that choice. Then, who pays for it? Ultimately, you don't want it to fail anyone. So, I would hope they get it right the first time setting it up.
YAY for Aquaphor in small sizes to keep in your purse! But, doesn't he know the purses today are HUGE and probably could keep that full-size one in it without a problem!
The meds that my insurance company wouldn't cover were a brand of BP, not NeoBenz, but some other one that had a better buffering system so it was less irritating. Also I think Retin-A because I was over the age (I forgot what it is) that they said it would then be used for wrinkles and not acne over that age. So, my derm had to send them a letter stating the reason was not for wrinkles. Otherwise, they wouldn't pay for it. The insurance company could have just looked into my file and seen I had other topicals in the past that were used for acne and not wrinkles, ummm, duh!
Have a good day!

Have a good day!
Insurance is very complicated...
lol I was able to keep my large aquaphor in my purse because my coach bag is big!
I remember last year they wouldnt cover another bp face wash for me either. I forget the name of it but its a reputable one.
So you did end up getting the medications after them giving you and youre dr a difficult time?
You too! Bye for now 🙂
haha I told my husband that you could easily fit your Aquaphor in your Coach bag and he laughed and said he's seen some mighty big handbags so he KNEW you could too! hahaha
YES! After my derm wrote a letter to the insurance company explaining I had been going to him for years for acne not wrinkles lol, they approved it and we never had another problem until the BP haha. Then for the next time I needed the BP, he simply said "no substitutions" on the prescription form. Sometimes the insurance companies say you can pay the difference between the generic (which they will cover) and the brand name. So that's even fine I suppose.
Have a great day!

this isnt a hand bag. Its a shoulder bag which is much better and they are different 😛
Why couldnt he just call the insurance company? Why did he have to write a letter and wait for a response?
I  they approve of this bp so I dont have to resort to uv light therapy
Im gonna go to bed now. My job has been very stressful lately and it has been making me exhausted! I will post on my log at 11:30ish tomorrow morning
Im breaking out in places I hadnt broken out in a looooooooooooooong time! I have a two zits on the bridge of my nose. One has been there for like a week. I also have two zits on my chin adjacent to one another probably from either the peanut butter I ate, the potato chips I ate, and or the french fries I ate the day I had my last day of classes to renew my CNA liscence.
lol... he called it a handbag but I know they are shoulder bags that if you were to carry it in your hand, it would probably touch the ground haha!
Well the derm had to write a letter bc the insurance company requested one to keep in their files. This way, in the future, they had a letter to review so we wouldn't need to go through that mess again.
Since you're breaking out in spots you haven't broken out in a long time, perhaps you could visit the holistic threads and begin a healthy diet switch to see if it really DOES help your skin and you in general with stress, etc. I know tons of people have experienced better skin with better types of food choices, so that's something you could consider.
Also, the uv light therapy treats the entire face and might be something you would want to try if you don't clear up via the food route and NeoBenz. Obviously you don't want to keep sliding backwards by getting new zits in places you haven't had before. That would signal the regimen by itself is not entirely working and it needs something more. BUT, it's good you still have some options to try! I've found that regimens have the best success rate when a holistic approach is taken with exercise and proper eating. Then, you can have your 'bad' foods occasionally for a treat as a reward for sticking to good eating habits.
Have a good day, take care of that burn, and I hope that insurance company handles it quickly!

lol Yeah I hate handbags. I mean lets say I have a bunch of grocery bags in my hand, I dont want to have to carry a purse in my hand or on the bracial of my arm either! The shoulder is much for convenient. '
Oh I understand. That makes sense to me now why the derm wrote a letter instead of calling.
Im not really willing to change my diet. I do give up on things though that I know for sure break me out. I never eat bananas anymore because I know for a fact those break me out terribly especially around my lips. You know what speaking of lip line pimples, I havent had a single one since switching to this mac lipstick and mac colored lipgloss! Maybe the septra has to do with that too and my cleanser! I think this regimen is working because I do not have as many pimples. The pimples that are on places I didnt have them before are very small. They are not red and inflamed. The amount of pimples Im getting has really been cut in half.
Im thinking of saving money to buy my own UV lamp rather than fork over $600 for treatments that might not even work! My derm said it was $150 but that he would give me a discount. I think he really likes me and pitties me because nothing hes given me has worked for me and if it did work for me it made me mental.
I called my walgreens pharmacy and they are gonna fax my derm.
Thank you! My burn is healing somewhat nicely. That is the last thing on my mind though. Work has been making me so tired and its been so stressful I could just cry. Have you ever been so tired you could cry Melanie?
Im so tired of my face I have very large pores near my nose and on top of those large pores, I have a new nodule and a new papule and theyre very close to one another. I just applied my clay mask to that area. I am gonna instead of washing it off after ten minutes, Im gonna sleep with it on and see if that helps.
I break out everyday and its just not fair and its too much for me to handle.
So around 8:00 I washed my face and the clay mask off. My nodule is slightly smaller and my papule is now a very small pustule. I think Im gonna make some roobios tea, wrap it in a paper towel, and hold it on those two pimples on and off for fifteen minutes
I also have two pimples that have formed scabs I wont pick at them. I will wait until the fall off. Those two pimples were on my chin, Ive been massaging some neobenz micro (from the sample my derm gave me) all over my face morning and night since I saw my dermatologist on Monday. It really is amazing stuff
I called my dermatologists office today to find out if the insurance had approved my medication. The medical assistant told me she wont know until Monday. She said if they do not approve it, she can give me a supply of samples that will last me two months
I still hate the way my burn looks It doesnt hurt anymore though. Its brown around the edges and pink on the inside
Hey!
It seems to me that it is your BIRTHDAY (4/26)!!! So.....
HAVE A VERY VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
I'm SO glad your skin is behaving! That is so nice that you can always get those samples from the derm that will last you 2 months! You use that stuff sparingly which is perfect to make the samples last such a long time. Which percentage do you like the best?
So now that your skin is mostly clear, do you like the way the Everyday Minerals looks on it? And that's SO good you don't have to worry about your lipstick and lip gloss since you found the ones that don't make your lips break out!
Have a wonderful birthday and be sure you eat something fun and do something even more fun lol!

Thank you! I love when people wish me a happy birthday especially people named Melanie 😀
Yes, that was a very sweet offer! I will most definitely take the two month supply if indeed my insurance company wont pay for it. I like the 5.5% because its not too drying yet its affective.
Yes, I do love the way the everyday minerals looks on my skin. However, I do wish it would last longer on my face. I sweat in the nursing home and it gets worn off by the middle of my shift. The lipgloss and the lipstick are fantastic! I wouldnt have known about MAC if it were not for people on this site raving about it.
Ive already eaten birthday stuff. Today my parents bought two delicious tarts for me to bring to work to share with my co workers. It was quite delicious and they enjoyed it too. Filipinos love their mango! It had mango, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, kiwi, custard, and of course the crust. Tomorrow, I am getting a white cake with thick white frosting and stredded vanilla. We are also gonna go to an Italian restaurant in San Francisco.
Oh Molly you are making me drooooooool! hahaha Those tarts sounds absolutely fantastic!!! I've had some mighty good tarts too and I just LOVE the way the berries taste with the custard! And... they use a great crust for the tart too! OMG.... That was SO sweet of you to bring them in for your co-workers to enjoy! Very sweet of your parents for doing that for you!
That cake you mentioned... you said thick white frosting with shredded vanilla... did you mean shredded coconut or do they have vanilla beans that are shredded? I've seen vanilla beans finely ground up and sprinkled on frosting but I was thinking coconut when you said shredded.... which I might add.... I LOVE coconut!!!
Then, you're going to what I'm sure is a great Italian restaurant for your birthday! I can't wait to hear what you ordered and how it was! And one more time...Happy Birthday! Enjoy your day!

lol yeah they really are delicious! It was my idea to bring this in. My mom thought I should bring in lumpia but I thought that was stupid. All my co workers are filipino. They eat those all the time and I bet some of them even know how to make it themselves! Thats not a very unique idea of something to bring =/
Im actually not sure which one she bought. I am hoping it is shredded white chocolate though since I am a chocohlic 😆
I love Italian food! I most definitely will tell you what I ordered as I know you love food too 😆
I know this sounds silly because we only exchange written words, but you are one of my best friends 🙂 I dont have very many friends so but you and I have a very close on line friendship and that really means a lot to me! I hope someday we can actually met in person! What state do you live in?
Im gonna go to bed since tomorrow is my big day and Im dead tired. Im also gonna have a pretty big day on Sunday too because I am going out with an acne.org member for our birthdays. She is only six days younger than me, yes we are the same age. Later in the day, I am gonna go visit you know who
Well, my parents are about to pick me up and we gonna eat the yummy Italiano food. I put on some make up but I did it a little bit differently today. I used my prescriptives foundation with my prescriptives brush, I then used the same brush to apply EM multi tasking foundation, I applied my MAC lipstick with my MAC colored lipgloss over it and here I am

That combination of your Prescriptives and Everyday Minerals will probably give you a very long-lasting coverage. Since you like to save your expensive Prescriptives for special occasions, you might have discovered a wonderful way. Let us know how it holds up for you!
Also, you have officially made every single person reading your log hungry - I hope you know that! And I agree with you, the tarts were a special treat for your co-workers, especially when they get lumpia all the time. What actually does lumpia taste like?
I thank you for the compliments but you're such a gregarious, inquisitive and loyal person that once you realize that about yourself and build your confidence, you will see you have more friends than you know. You have a lot of very admirable qualities and you work very hard at everything you do... uh... well... skip that about not eating bad food like chocolate haha... but you do work hard at everything else!! Besides, chocolate and bad food is oh-so-yummy sometimes! :hifive:
I hope you're enjoying your birthday and you get all the happiness you deserve on your very special day. Oh... what a GREAT picture of that present in your vivatar! LOVE IT!
Ciao!
Happy birthday! 😀

Isn't she great? She had a 2-hour show on QVC a few weeks ago.. And about two years ago she had a special on PBS which was really great.
ps- I'm a total QVC junkie here, I tune in all the time to watch it even though I don't buy anything :shifty: Which reminds me I gotta watch Saturday Night Beauty tonight.. With the adorable Patti Riley.
pps- Sorry for derailing the thread Molly- Hope you're having fun 🙂
