Hey I just read a bunch of your log :) I noticed that ya said that you keep breaking out around your mouth, and sometimes I do too. I looked into it and found that bacteria can survive on your lipstick or chapstick, and even if it isn't the main cause of your breakout, once you do have a pimple along your lipline, using the same lipstick will collect ithe bacteria, and thus help spread it. (Or something like that hehe) So here's what I learned to do, and it really has helped the pimples heal faster for me when they do happen! :):

Take anything sharp and sterilize it with alcohol. Adjust you lipstick to only show the very edge of it, and then cut off the tip. Then grab a cotton ball and put some alcohol on it also, and clean around the edge of the lipstick container thingy, and also the inside of the cap.

Hope this helps ya :)

Besides a spiro initial breakout, I think I have figured out what is giving me numerous painful pustules along my lip line, burt bees beexwax lip balm. I just threw it in the garbage. It has a lot of comedogenic ingredients

My face is really hurting! Ive never had my face hurt this much and I am having a difficult time figure out what is causing it. Maybe the lac hydrin five doesnt agree with me  My pimples are large and inflamed.

My mom has recommended to me for months to not moisturize. She goes, "I never did. I think moisturizers make your skin more oily. I really think you should stop using them" I guess I will take her advice and see what happens

Im not gonna use finacea for a week or moisturizer and see if it helps at all. I am not gonna wear make up either. I have an appointment next Thursday morning with my dr. Hopefully, he can give me a new prescription of finacea then

oh...i see. do you think the finacea has helped at all? are you still breaking out? if so, what do you think may be causing it? have you ever considered going on an antibiotic? i was breaking out horribly this past summer and finally went on minocycline and a new regimen. i've seen improvement with it.

Im hesitant to go on minocycline again. I think Im immune to it and it gave me a yeast infection. Also I am already on three medications and already have a hard time remembering to take my second dose of spironolactone.

No I dont think the finacea has helped at all. In fact, when I put it on, it made my face incredibly itchy. Yes, Im breaking out horribly and thats why my mom agrees I need to see the derm.

My face is still pretty red today and it is very painful. It feels like its burned. I dont have as many new pimples today as I have the past four days but it still hurts like a son of a bitch. There are a lot of redmarks. I just popped three pimples using my paper towel method. I did not moisturize or use finacea. I dont think I will ever moisturize again. My zits seem to dry faster when I dont moisturize and I think the lac hydrin five might have burned my skin, along with the finacea. Next Thursday, I have a derm appointment so I can talk to him about all the concerns I have

I just decided to put on my prescriptives make up since I am gonna go out. My face looks aweful! I didnt put on moisturizer because I think it is contributing to my breakouts. The make up is all dry, cracked and disgusting. The only reason Im wearing it is because Im about to go shopping and because I dont want people staring at me. People at work already stare and make comments. I dont need it from strangers. Anyway, Im off!

I'm sorry you're having a hard time! And I should have listened to you earlier and stopped Cetaphil, lol. I'll be taking your advice from now on.

Hi Molly,

I'm having problems with makeup too at the moment, or is it self-esteem, I don't know.

Do you put lip balm or anything similar on your lips at night. I know sometimes I've had problems with stuff rubbing onto the skin aroiund my lips and blocking pores. One time I picked something that was just below my lip and I ended up with a scab that made me look like I had pierced my lip, not a good look.

Try putting vaseline on your lips at night and try to avoid colored lip glosses except for during the day. I use one from the body shop and I like it 🙂

I have a similar type of spot on my chin. I've been having a hard time not touching it as well! Haven't had one of these buggers in months.... But we know messing with them only makes it worse, right????? 😉

Hopefully your derm will give you a good skin care plan on Thursday. You might also ask the doctor for recommendations for a cleanser and moisturizer, since you haven't found products that work as well for you as you'd like.

I couldnt help myself today and I popped that yellow head. I know it doesnt make it better but I think its totally disgusting to leave it there. Thatd be like if I have a buger running down my nose and I didnt whipe it

He will probably give wont give me good advice for cleansers. He will probably just tell me to use anything from the drugstore

I have a list from Face Reality that lists common makeup and skincare products as to whether they are ok to use or not. I could give you a few suggstions from the list if you'd like (its a hard copy, so I can't post or email it). Let me know and I will look at their list and give you a couple of suggestions.

And yeah, my chin spot was bugging me too. I had it extracted during my facial today though, so its starting to heal now. They do heal MUCH faster when I get them extracted - it probably cuts the pimple's lifecyle by at least half.

That would be fantastic if you can please do that for me. Do you know if prescriptives virtual matte foundation with spf 15 is appropriate for someone with extremely sensitive skin? What are examples of make ups which are not appropriate? What are examples of make ups that are? Thanks Kim!
