Oh boy. I started reading through the whole thread with great detail and interest but only got to page 6, and kinda fizzled out. Haha.

You girls rock. I think I'm going to take some pics of my daily looks and post on here.

Right now I'm kind of obsesses with doing a little black liner (just towards the outer corner of my eye), shimmery whit shadow on lid, then a creamy rosey pink color in the crease and more shimmery white to highlight the brow.

Sounds weird, but I don't pile on a bunch of it, so it looks really cute. I'll hopefully post a picture tomorrow.

I'm definitely addicted to shimmer. Milani Eye Shadow in Lily White and Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Guava and Watermelon are my biggest beauty staples, probably.

I asked my hairdresser, she said she has no clue about it and she would only ever use professional lines.... lol. I love her, but ... no helping. 🙂

Lol go figure. I know some salons really push their services because they receive products/equipment if they have good sales. I have a cousin who is a great hair stylist and he told me semi-permanent dyes are just fine. Although you will be using a permanent, I'm sure you'll be fine!

Haha. Yeah. I bet. I can understand... it's just annoying, she could have looked at it and said yes or no... But ! Whateva. I will let you know if I end up doing it! And post before & after pics 😉

Which do you prefer-

matte or shimmery eyeshadows? Or something else?

Shimmery! but not glittery....

I feel like my eyes are kind of sunken in and matte shadows just worsen the effect. Shimmery shadows make my eyes "pop"

I like shimmery too! Yeah... matte eye shadows can be really deadening- it's gotta be the right consistency and color.

Going to see my possibly future school today!

Pink, peach, and coppery-gold.

Hahah we understand!! Please do post- the look you are describing actually sounds really pretty! Show usssss 🙂 A lot of people seem to like Burt's Bees lip shimmers. I will have to try them again. I got put off a long time ago when I accidentally got this brown orange color that looked hideous on me.

Well thank you ma'm! 😀

Makeup!! Lol.

Definitely do! For the record, I think a chestnut brown could look really nice on you!

I've been itching to change my hair color, baaaaadly!! I want to go a really light golden brown with natural blonde higlights. But I am terrified it will cost a LOT and I won't like it or it won't suit me. Then there's the whole issue of maintaining it. I just don't know... I've been thinking about it for months . I love my hair dark brown-black but I love making non-permanent changes like different hair styles, color, etc. - so I really want to try it...

Okay, so I'm a poor college student. I've been saving money the past 8 or so months by going to a nearby beauty school to get my hair cut/colored. They've never messed up, and I pay $15.... NO KIDDING $15 to get my hair cut and permanently colored. Haven't had highlights done yet, but I'm planning on it (for a pretty springy look). It's Empire Beauty School, and the girls who work in the salon are like the higher-up students, so they've already had to pass a bunch of tests to get to the level they're at.

There's always an experienced instructor checking in every 5 minutes or so to make sure the student isn't screwing up.

I was extremely scared the first time I went, but I've been very happy with the outcome.

Although that's just the place I go to...I can't say places elsewhere are going to be as good. Haha.

I've heard horrible stories from those who have gone to the beauty schools around here, unfortunately :( lol

Yeah. Then I would probably advise against it. 😛

Haha thank you!! :]

LOL! I tooootally know what you mean. I've never done anything except a single process full color (henna, demi, permanent) because the upkeep is waaaay out of my range! You know? It probably will cost a lot. I was going to suggest trying it at a beauty school for like 1/3 of the price but I see you ladies already got to that! The ones in my area get pretty good reviews- the school I am going to go to gets great reviews. Yay! Anyhow, check it out on Yelp and see if you can find any good ones. The teachers watch the whole time.

I've always wanted to see how I would look as a blonde... Traitorous I know 🙁

Haha I wonder too. I am too scared to try cause I know some people will take it as "why can't you be happy with yourself" or just think I'm superficial. I just love change, I love seeing new things - I am just curious! Not that I would go platinum blonde but yeah. I can always do it after I graduate and I won't have to face the same people lol

I'm having the very strong urge to perm my hair... This is a huge error in judgment... right?

Hahaha.

My hairdresser says never perm... 😛 You could always try it... lol but if it doesn't look good you are kinda out of luck for awhile. I understand the urge though 🙂

Haha me too. Poor college student is my official middle name.

That's so cool! I am starting at beauty school soon, to become an esthetician, but the one I am going to has really good reviews for the hairstylists. I might have to start using them. Sad though... I've been going to the same lady since I was 10. But it's a really good option for anyone to save money. For those of you who might be unsure I recommend going on Yelp, reading the reviews, and asking for someone that has been mentioned by name a few times in the reviews. That's your best bet if you are a little scared.

🙂

Ha, I know what you mean. Tell em to shove it! 😉

It's fun to have new hair/clothes/whatever. You can expressss yourself. My boyfriend might love it if I went blonde... dad would probably hate it. 🙂 Hahah. But yeah, I am going to save up a buttload of money before I even think about doing it. The upkeep is way more intense!

I spent a good portion of life in the 80s 😆 I just don't wanna do my damn hair everyday... *sigh*

I've been REALLY wanting to dye my hair blonde lately. I just want to try it out. Currently my hair is kind of a medium auburn, which is really pretty.

Idk. I doubt I'll ever be daring enough to try blonde.

Haha me either. I really don't even do it unless I am going somewhere important. It's sad. But it's so much work... long hair is pretty but a pain in the ass. And not pretty if you are lazy like me haha. You could get the Brazilian Blowout? Hahah. But that's like the opposite of a perm and expensive. 😛 Well... how much are perms usually?

idk - I haven't had one in at least a decade. The brazilian is supposed be laden with realllly bad ingredients... plus, I want curly hair. You have a natural wave don't you?

99% of the time my hair is in a bun

Same here, but my hair is super curly. It's hard to manage, so it often gets slicked back into a pony or bun. Be greatful for non-curly hair--my hair's so annoyingly hard to manage.

I hate to bring this up, but do you ladies suffer from stretch marks? I've got some pretty nasty ones, and I just REALLY want them to fade a bit before summer. Had any luck with any stretch mark treatments? :/

Yeah everyone is in a tizzy about it. Formaldehyde I think is what the bad one is. I love curly hair... wish a perm wasn't the only way to kind of permanently achieve it. Yes, my hair is naturally wavy. Sounds good in theory doesn't it? Hahaha. Seriously. My hair is up all the tiiiiime. It sucks because I have thin hair so it doesn't look good like that and it hurts my scalp!

🙁 🙁

I just got purple ones on the inside of my thighs. I've never had any that were this dark. I have no idea what to do. I feel your pain.
