Bek - do you use lid primer? I just ordered Kat Von D's in Flesh, excited but very skeptical. I also ordered TheBalm's Sexy Mama and a metal lash comb, always wanted one. Any feedback?

The primer was inspired by your flawless looking shadow in the Vday pic btw  Mine always looks uneven after 2 hrs or so, tried monistat and some loreal decrease, nada.

Wish I had some feedback about your stuffs... I still love the heck outta that CG lippie, got 2 more shades - Heavenly and Coquette. Heavenly is a nude pink, it's a hair too pale for me, but I have very pigmented lips - no sparkles. Coquette is a mauve leaning towards a pale plum, some sparkles, cannot see them when it's on. If I put Coquette on in the morning and touch up with Heavenly it is the perfect MLBB shade. I am highly tempted to melt them down and mix them

Hey!

I do use a lid primer. Not every time... usually if I am doing something really pigmented or it's for a night out or something like that. Thank you :] flawless, wooo! Luckily my lids aren't oily or anything so my eyeshadow *usually* behaves. oooh, I haven't tried Kat Von D's.... let me know how you like it! I, of course, have the UD primer (in Eden). Oooh sexy mama looks cool! I have been looking for something like that. The only pressed powder I will use right now is MAC's studio fix foundation. I don't know why I have become phobic about pressed powder... I'm sure are some good ones. Let me know how you like it!

Ooooh, haha maybe you should mix them! They both sound gorgeous. I can't wear very many nudes, I usually have to go with a more pinkish nude haha otherwise I look corpse-y. I wanna go to Target soon and see them.

I am becoming obsessed with nail polish and manicures now... oh god :(. I just ordered 4 OPI polishes from Sephora, bought the new Essie No Chips Away top coat, and some Sephora cuticle oil. You would think I was wealthy or something! Lmao. Oh well.. I just want my nails to look really good. I got OPI in: Miss Bossy Pants (shimmering plummy pinkish purple), High Maintenance (orange red), Rumba Romance (shimmering bronze), and Caliente Coral (orange coral). I am wearing High Maintenance right now and, zomg, OPI really doesn't chip much! I had been using Revlon before... no bueno.

So the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics lip tars... hmmmm. They look super cool. I had never heard of them before seeing them on ACW, and they are apparently really popular with makeup artists. They seem to be forever-lasting, with the pigment level being so high that it literally takes a tiny dot to cover your lips. I think I am going to get one in "NSFW" - classic red. It's a color I can wear a lot to determine if I want to buy more. So excited! And the UD blushes... all the reviews I've read say they are awesome for the most part so I am gonna give them a try too. I love pink and peachy blushes!

that eye look is SUPER cute! I think that's my favorite look yet. How did you do it/what products did you use?

has anyone tried Alima mineral makeup? from what I can tell on the website (www.alimapure.com) and a couple reviews I've read they seem really nice. I think I'm going to order some foundation samples and maybe a lip balm.

Ahhh thank you! 😀

I used my Stila "It Girl" palette (large photo of it) and Smashbox limitless eyeliner in Java (chocolate brown). I also used my Urban Decay brow box and Diorshow mascara.

I used "Kitten" as an all over base shadow. Then I used the dark bronze color as a crease shadow. Then I layered the gold shadow onto just my lids. Then I used the Smashbox pencil to make a thick line with a small cat eye effect at the end. You can't see very much of the gold in the picture because of the eyeliner- but it becomes a subtle pop of color. After I finished that I went back with Kitten and added a few highlights to make my eyes pop. Curl eyelashes and add Diorshow! 🙂

Also I have not tried Alima! I'm gonna go look!

So I got the Olay pro brush today... so excited! I mostly want to use it for my keratosis pilaris on my arms and legs. If it works for that... words can't express how happy I will be. I am also going to use it on my face, if it improves facial skin that's a bonus! Wish me luck!

lol! I bought it yesterday

so the kat von d primer succcccccccckkkkkkkkksssssssssssss, like unbelievably badly. My eyeshadow lasted 1.5 hours before creasing, and not just a crease, but like a migration to everywhere but my lids. I look like a clown. Luckily, I never left the house, ha.

Sexy Mama :D me likey! I stayed unshiny all day, but not dead matte either. Totally translucent, no caking, weird pore tricks or other grossness.

Not sure how I have survived without the eyelash comb, it makes my cheapo mascara look great!

Ooh ooh ooh!! Do you like it? How do you use it? Are you supposed to put cleanser on your face and then put the brush to it or what?

Eeeeeek that sounds horrible!!! 🙁 I would totally try Urban Decay or Too Faced. Wow. Return that shiiiiit asap, lol. Smeary eyeshadow WITH primer underneath is ridiculous. I am going to have to try that! I have Sonia Kashuk's translucent pressed powder right now... gonna step it up a notch.

I have never used one! What does it do exactly? Separate the lashes?

I applied cleanser first, then went over my face for about a minute - very soft and nice feeling. I'm thinking it's gentle enough for at least every other day use - and apparently - it's compatible with the DDF's heads....? I read that on makeupalley, very cool if it's true.

I'm so returning it, might finally get around to returning that damned bare minerals (I was possessed I think). I forgot to say, my eyeballs have been burning out of their sockets all day well. Pleasant. I think I'll try whichever one comes in that adorable little genie bottle, I'm a huge sucker for cute packaging!

lol, I was kind of afraid of the comb at first, metal tines near my eyes and all, but I love it! It removes all the tiny little clumps and separates, but not that icky separation those new silicone brushes of recent mascara give. Just nice. My lights, camera lashes globs up on me pretty easy after 2 weeks or so, I think this would be ideal for that. What I used it on was rimmel extra super lash, haha

I really hope it works for me. I'm getting a few spots... do you think it's just an initial purge?

Maybe I will get the DDF refill too then.

Hahaha. Poor thing!! return all of it! You don't want to be burning or breaking out! That lash comb sounds awesome, I'm going to have to look into that for my arsenal! Heh!

I currently have 3 new spots, little, but damnit. I think it might be an IP. I bought the clarisonic years ago, and I gave up on it pretty quickly. I'm gonna try and stick this guy out, I have a history of breaking out at first from new stuff, and then normalizing.

I would assume it's just an initial purge. I broke out the first few days when I got my Clarisonic, but it's because it gets all the gunk out of your pores. After 6 weeks of using it my skin looks better than it ever has. I would think the Olay does the same thing.

kewl :D thanks! It's much less powerful than I remember the clarisonic being, but still.

I bought the clarisonic mia like 6 months ago and had it for 2 months. I didn't have any purging or whatever but I didn't see any miraculous improvement so I returned it (not spending $150 on something that isn't fab lol).

Maybe it works different for different people. I've had amazing luck with it. My skin is clear, my pores are smaller, my skin actually glows.

I'm going to keep using it! Purge away... lol. Because the rest of my skin looks awesome. I'm using it on my face, arms, chest, and legs. I'll probably need a shitload of batteries. Oh well. :)

I'm sooo late on reading this. Bek, your Valentine's makeup is killer. I so wish I could flick my eyeshadow out like that. Mine is usually thicker looking. I should post a picture sometime of it, lol. It looks so expertly done, clean, and neat! Gorgeous!

I sort of skimmed on the comments, but Ayla, have you tried urban decay's eye shadow primer? I love that one. I need to get some more of it though. :(

Lmao. Vampireninja09... usedtabe?

Anyhow, thank you so much!!! I used an eyeliner actually. Now that you say that, using eyeshadow is a good idea! It is hard to do... all the love in the air... must have been on my side. Lmao. Yes, please do post pictures! Thank you very much! 😀

My YSL mascara. If I wasn't so sloppy (lol) the ends would be more separated and spread out. But this gives you a good idea of the lift and volume it gives. Fullness... ehhh, it's more natural. You can always add on a thickening mascara if you want more drama.

Lol, yes, it is me. I'm changing back as soon as I can though. 😛 >_< bad name choice.

Whoa, you did!? It looks so much like eyeshadow (or maybe it's just me). It must have been on your side.

Ok - bought the too faced shadow insurance last night, applied 5 hrs ago with obnoxiously dark grey shadow, has not budged!! I may be in love. My eyes are burning, but I changed out 2 light fixtures and got a healthy dose of fiberglass insulation in my face  heh, thanks for the rec!

Also, my painted whore status compelled me to buy Revlon Matte lippies - meh. The feel is nice, the consistency is nice, but the colors suck. They are all orangey and warm, I look god awful in warms. Also the wear is gross - they last a good bit - but when they go it's in patches, very ugly.

(btw - i apologize for reviewing all my crap in you thread, is it ok???)

also - holy cow! The lift on that mascara is amazing! How long does that effect last?

Haha. Just different! Lol.

Yeah it was a brown eyeliner and I just lightly flicked it out so it wasn't too harsh! Yes, it usually is a lot darker but I figured it might look pretty drag queen-esque if I did it too dark.
