i read some of posts about guys n sunscreen. rofl. i don't think i've ever met a guy who takes wearing it seriously. OR they apply it once at the beach, and then after spending 5+ under the sun, they complain to me why they got sunburned. REALLY?!? n my sis's husband only started wearing sunscreen @ the beach after having to go to the ER bc he got such a bad sunburn n it got infected. just wanted to share that. lol

switching topics, i have a ques about lashes. does anyone get lash extensions regularly? or use something that helps grow their own lashes with success? i keep hearing about castor oil, but i rather use something that comes with a mascara wand, and isn't as thick. i'm just fed up with applying mascara in the morning during the week. i don't want to deal with a curler when i'm trying to rush out the door. thanks for any input :proud:

Lash extensions? I need to look this up.... Those mascaras that are double sided where one has fibers to lengthen your lashes work well but that's not permanent.

I actually have a question about mascara, what's the best drugstore brand for volume and length? I want dramatic results! Otherwise I'll just use falsies for an event this weekend. I really like Covergirl Lash Blast, it gives me really thick looking lashes without being too clumpy but if there's something more dramatic I would love to try it out

I am loving Rimmel's lash accelerator! It was like $6 (target, Walgreens, CVS) and it seems to be working. lol, I seriously find that amazing. it's lengthening, but not volumizing. When I use it regularly my lashes fall out way less, and they look so frkn long. For volumizing I like Tarte's Lights, camera, lashes.

I have one Rimmel mascara now, Max Bold Curves. It's for lift and volume but it goes on so clumpy >_<! I just read a review on the one you mentioned and apparently all Rimmel mascaras are on the "wet" side. That's a perfect description for the one I have! So I guess I like drier formulas where you can build them up without the spider leg look :ermm:.

One thing I did for a while that works really well is L'Oreal's Double Extend - Beauty Tubes for length (it goes on really clean) followed by Covergirl's Lash Blast for Volume. Even with the price combined, I'm sure it's cheaper than the high-end brands and I really think it gives comparable results! I might just end up buying both - but if there is anything amazing for a cheaper price....

that bold curves stuff is awful, you wind up without about 3 fat lashes  I like most rimmel mascaras, the extra super lash one is really nice for a whopping $3 And the volume flash is a falsies effect, verrrry thick lashes.

(i'm a mascara whore)

Haha for some reason guys need to be cajoled usually into wearing sunscreen. Whenever my nephews come over I tell them if they want to go outside they have to use it. :) Hopefully mommy and daddy continue this at home at least some of the time.

So I got Queen Helene's Mint Julep mask! I've been skeptical for a long time haha but it's so cheap... I added it to my Ulta order. I am going to use it today, so excited. I also got an AHA "souffle" it says 12% Glycolic. But water is the first ingredient and then glycolic acid... Hmm. I think I am going to start using that on my chest area & neck since I have topicals for my face. Have you guys used the mask?

Also-

I have to reevaluate my mascaras! I used to get my lashes pretty long... what happened?!

I started using NYC Skyrise Mascara-I purchased it for like $2.00 or something stupid. And I am very surprised. It is actually pretty darn good! Maybe try it since it is so cheap? It is very lengthening and it does not clump. It has a nice brush.

bek/anyone,

for my birthday next month I'm going to have an 80s themed party, so if you could do a slightly costume-y 80s makeup tutorial I would love it!!! streaky blush and colorful eyeshadow for sure. I don't know what else is kind of trademark 80s haha. I'm so excited...going to tease my hair and rock a side pony! I will post pics for sure :)

Thanks Ayla! The blush is not bad--especially for summer. It has a bit of shimmer so on days I have breakouts or dry skin it doesn't look as good. On my good skin days, the color is perfect for my skin tone and it really brightens up my complexion. Do you like matte or shimmer blushes?

I've tried 1000 foundations and I always come back to Colorstay. It is not perfect by any means and sometimes my face feels really tight when I wear it (lol), but nothing has compared yet in terms of coverage and stay power. I will keep searching for THE ONE, too!

What foundation do you wear?

Right now I'm trying out Almay TLC but the color is too light for me. I like Colorstay but no one seems to have the Softflex formula for the color I need. The older formula is a couple shades too light for me. >:( Tried MAC (too orange), Estee Lauder (too pink), Shiseido (not enough coverage), Maybelline etc. I might have to give in and get matched at Sephora for MUFE HD foundation since they have so many shades. I'm only afraid of it breaking me out....and the price. O_O But it would be worth it if I could find something that matches.

Searching for the HG foundation sucks ass.

The Almay TLC is too dark for me! I haven't found anything that has matched me yet.

I like the coverage of MUFE HD, but it's the wrong color. Sephora wouldn't allow me to exchange it either, so that was a negative thing about it. So I'm stuck with a too dark of a color. I think alot of the problem, though, too is that I have rosaccea so it makes it look even darker. 😐

That kit that you got sounds so exciting too!
