@fiksiI really appreciate your concerns but I do agree with jPablo,I feel like the pictures don't give a correct image. At the moment my whole face hurts when I move it because of the under the skin cysts that didn't come to the surface yet, and that you as consequence can't see on the pictures (yet)... And me being so young is maybe more dangerous but it also makes having acne really emotionally heavy. I have no confidence or self-worth left. Seeing all these careless teens... I can't deal with this in combination with uni and exams, relationships,... I don't want to come to close to my boyfriend so he won't touch my skin and feel the bumps, I don't go outside anymore, I just lay in bed, waiting for this to be over. I just want to live my life and if that means having to take a risk i am willing to do it. But anyway, I have 2 derm appointments with 2 different derms (to get a second opinion) and I will just see what they suggest, after all, they are the professionals, and if I can fix this without accutane that would be great, but I just can't do the trial and error for years anymore

I'm sure you know the ins and outs of it.
I know, I know. Mine was not really on face, but scalp and back. So I looked presentable, but suffered. You sleep on back, wear shirts... exercise.. you know what I mean.
15 years of this, I know everything. Indeed it was never a worry what people would say abotu me on beach, but more the pain and interference in life(it also leaked/blood can stain).
There are very extreme cases, cases unresponsive to all etc. but one must try all they can do. This is an awful disease. I only urge people to be careful with tane.

Absolutely agree. Seeing all these teenagers or people in their 20s rarely washing there faces, getting pished drunk, smoking doing everything that isn't good for You and have flawless skin..its a joke whilst I don't do anything of that. And i stand in my bathroom for like 1 hour a day trying to do a routine to keep my skin at bay.

Where the hell are all the acne sufferers? The board is full of people with troubled skin but in life I'm surrounded by glowing angelic faces.
My relapse has made this all the more difficult.

Severe form of acne is rare. Many suffer from very mild acne, that just passes... what we have here is a stronger form.
One derm once told me, to put some cream 3 times a day on my back... now where will I shower 4 times a day, and who will put the cream on? How will you work/school? Baloon boy? Lol.
I understand all acne problems... I only say route to tane is eliminatory. You try all you can before and then think. Even today, tane is used as chemo agent for some cancers- in this case you ofc have a potential benefit that exceeds damage. As I see you both want to try all other options before this, so this is good.
EDIT: Tane is used for neuroblastoma cancer(just so that my post is clearer).

Yeah I understand the strength of it, I've done a lot of research into it.
I've got 8 months to clear this, if it's what I need, I'm gonna take it.

There are cases far worse than you, with far more spread acne. I've seen cases to literally cry.
There is no guarantee tane will help, and if so, that it will not come back. If you are purely looking for speed, my experience is antibiotics clear it much faster- but it comes back after you stop(it may with tane as well).
I understand you have pain as well, and if your acne is refractory to everything else, then consider last options.
Also remember, there is life after acne...

4 months on antibiotics, they are doing nothing for me.

Have you tried minocycline? Have you tried all of them? (tetras mostly)
If none of these work at all, then your case is very refractory and you may be step closer to tane. This disease sucks... and it is a disease. People drink, smoke, many have not one. It simply is largerly genetic.
We need girls with 100% perfect skin to minimise chances of our kids suffering...

I've had lymecycline, tetrasyl And oxytetracycline tablets.
Zineryt lotion also.
My parents or sibling has never had acne as such, just the usual 1 or 2 pimples show up a month in their 20s like any normal person.

Funny thing, my parents did not have any big case either, but seems grandparents on both sides had some disorders... I just got this unlucky mix.
My bro has the same thing. Maybe an eg perfect skinned Asian girl can fix this, dunno.
Try minocycline. It worked for me, never any resistance. Both for flare ups and regular taking. The problem arises if you have to do this long term...
Does antibiotic reduce pain at least?
You may simply have a very refractory acne and not many choices but accutane. Did you test for fungi and such organisms? You can have a sample fo your skin tested for all organisms.
I feel like the antibiotics have turned on me and are just causing problems in there own sense, I.e. more acne. They seem like a waste of time.
I haven't been to a derm yet, the NHS is a shambles for appointments. I've got the docs on Tuesday and will request referral for private derm. I'm afraid if they suggest Accutane I'm going on it.
My face cannot look like this for August, you know as they say, getting married is the happiest day of your life..maybe if this shit is gone off my face.
Regards to pain, it can reduce it slightly I guess.

Have you ever done a skin test for organisms? If you happen to have fungi or something else, this is also treatable.
Antibiotics also come with side effects... bad acne have few good choices, I would say none are actually good at all.

Again, I haven't. I need to discuss this all with my doc.

Please do. If this test finds nothing, then you might not have much choice but accutane. It's always good to rule out all causes(even fungi).

Fuck this disease.

Given it's strange how resistant to antibiotics you are, I'd do a biopsy to confirm what may be causing this. If it is a fungus, or some specific organism, treatment could be simple. In this case tane is also of no use to you.
Acne can sometimes be caused by a specific organism, or stem from other disorder.
This may be speculation, but it's worth exploring because you do want maximum results and not keep takign something not helping you, be it general antibiotics or tane.

My back acne and chest completely cleared up with antibiotics from last year and they have stayed clear..would fungus or another disorder not have a more wide spread affect?
My face has just got gradually worse from when I started these useless pills.
Ah, I see- so antibiotics did help somewhat... just not the face. Yes, you are generally right.
Fungi can be systemic, but don't have to be in every case. Other internal orders mostly are systemic, but can have local manifestations.
Perhaps there is a difference in cause in your face and back.
I am speculating, but it's worth exploring.
Don't keep taking antibiotics too much, you'll pay for it. My gut is fucked up after so many antibiotics courses and of course accutane, but antibiotics can make anirreversible. damage in your gut and make your acne worse.
Let me tell you something, i did 5 courses of Accutane and still surffering from this disgraceful desease, it works, is awesome and of course bring results like no other cream or antibiotic, but it's TOO STRONG, only God knows what i have surffered for this drug and still paying the price of it.
Weeks ago i was totally hopeless. But things are finally going fine and clearing me after i did a totally change in my diet. Whats the secret? Dairy free and mainly GLUTEN FREE (this can be a disgraceful protein for your skin) it really makes sense when you cut it off. Start eating healthy, fruits vegetables, DRINK WATER all day, stop with antibiotics, stop with topicals, acids and don't ask for Roaccutane.Just clean it by inside. You will see results.
