Hi! I would love a update!

Ive been on Accutane for almost two months now. I'm a girl and I weigh 50 kg. I started with 20mg/day for 7 days, then 40mg/day. My side effects has been okay, except for the severe worsening of my acne. I've never had acne this bad. I'm not getting depressed because of the drug, I'm getting depressed of the damn, horrible pimpels. After month 1 my doctor said that he couldn't "accept" the cystic acne I had so he put me on 60mg/day for 7 days. It didn't help.

I'm just like you. Feeling so hopeless. But I'm sorry for you hair loss and your low doseage with all the side effects :(

Did you stop taking spiro when you got on accutane? Either way you started dianette which is a very "strong" bcp that definitely throws your hormones out of whack when you start. First time I was on it my skin cleared up beautifully after about 2-3 months, second time around (about 2 years later) I broke out like crazy when I started taking it and also started to lose a lot of hair. These breakout continued for about 5 months and then got better, but not as good as the first time. When I decided to quit because my body couldn't handle all the hormones, my skin actually became better and my hair grew back.

With that said, dianette (and possibly quitting spiro if you did that) might have messed real bad with your hormones and that's what caused your prolonged breakouts and hairloss. Is there any possibility that you can continue taking the drug if you stop dianette and go for a hormone free contraceptive like a copper iud? IMO all these bcp that people are forced to start taking along with accutane often is what messes with your body, mood swings, hairloss etc. Many people end up quitting or changing the pill sometime after they're done with their courses = throwing their hormones out of whack again, but with no accutane in your body clearing you up this might lead to new breakouts and potentially a second round of accutane.
