I was prescribed Oxytetracycline and took it for 8 days, during that time I started getting headaches which I ignored then on the 8th day I had a crushing headache and could not walk without any assistance I was so dizzy. I phoned GP who told me to stop taking the tablets.
I was then prescribed Lymecycline and this morning I have taken one, a couple of hours later I started to get the dizzy feeling which lasted all day, I feel fine now though but I phoned the GP who has told me to stop taking these as well.
I am so dissapointed as for the 8 days I took the Oxytetracycline I did not get one new spot.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? What other options do I have, do you think I am just unable to take tetracyclines or is it worth working my way through them to see if one of them suits me!!

I am hesitant to now try another one as my job involves a lot of driving and I have 2 kids to look after as well.

It seems that it could be this: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15675888 , so intracranial hypertension. You tried oxytetracycline AND lymecycline so I wouldn't bother with tetracycline, minocycline or doxycycline(all of tetracyclines family). You could try submicrobal dose of doxycycline or minocycline(50mg per day), as day work by their anti-inflammatory characteristics, but still I wouldn't recomend it... Other antibiotics often used in acne are Bactrim(but I wouldn't recomend it because of rare, but tragic in consequences allergy reaction), erythromycin trimethoprim, cephalexin. Two last ones are the mildest I think.
Overall I wouldn't take any oral antibiotics for acne, because this road leads to nowhere but maybe those information will be helpful :>
