I just wanted to share my sons experience of taking the drug for acne, I know there are lots of posts like this but real experiences are important.
his dose was 30 and within a few weeks he had quite a lot of hair loss , it was blocking the shower , it was discussed at the hospital and brushed off as a minor thing that would be temporary, he continued for three months after which he took the decision himself that he valued his hair more than his skin.
He was 15 then and now at 17 the loss of hair has not grown back, he had very thick hair so I guess he is lucky that now he has fine hair on top of his head and has cut it very short, he gets away with it but i really think if he had continued it could have been much worse and seriously effected him.
The plus side is his skin did clear up , the hair loss was not mentioned before taking and taken seriously during, i just hope it will help others research them selves and be aware of this , as I know that baldness and hairloss can have a severe effect on mental health especially the young.
I personally did not want my son to have the treatment but he was stuck on having it, he now wishes he hadnt .
My other son also has skin the same the antibiotic route did help him, now he uses diet and suppliments and he does manage it quite well, vitamin c timed release seems to help him alot and probiotics .
