I just finished my 2nd month of Accutane. The first month I took 30mg once a day, the second month I took 30mg twice a day.
No. However I'm on absorica now and am in the middle of month 2. I had a BAD initial breakout that I'm JUST starting to see go away. It's SLOWLY getting better. I took 20mg the first month and 60 mg this month (30 in the morning, 30 at night)... My derm said most people notice a real difference the 3rd month and beyond. 1st and 2nd month your face is just purging, that's what she told me. Literally this morning I finally starting having a LITTLE hope. You don't think switching will make it worse? Idk the difference to be honest though between the diff. generics?

Interesting that your derm said they see the biggest difference around the 3rd month because based on some of the accutane logs here I see a lot of people on Absorica see a noticeable difference by month 2. But each person is different so maybe I just have to be a little patient. It is just that my derm was a bit disappointed with my acne progress when she looked at my face today.
Also I'm pretty sure Absorica is a brand name not a generic. And I do think there is a big difference between the two: I've seen a paper that said that when a generic version of Accutane was taken in a fasted state, ie without a meal, the absorption by your body was around 40%. In contrast, they found that Absorica had an absorption of about 70%. I think this is a big difference, and hopefully it will speed up my progress.
