Should I Stop Taking Accutane?

Hey guys,

I'm 18 years old and I've always had extremely clear skin until last summer. I got some on my cheeks, and they decided to stay on my cheeks - my cheeks haven't been acne-free since last year. Since then, my acne has been moderate, persistent acne that won't go away no matter what I did.

I'm currently on my third week of accutane, and I'm questioning whether I should continue my accutane journey or not.

But now I'm experiencing weird side-effects and after reading about others whose side effects never went away, I'm questioning whether accutane is worth it. Some people experience side effect years after ending accutane, and some of them are lifelong side effects.

Right now, I have the common itchy dry lips and skin, but recently I've discovered that I've got keratosis pilaris (chicken skin) all over my arms.

It's dry, itchy and looks horrible as you can see on the pictures. I'm really sad about it. Have any of you guys experienced the same thing with KP (chicken skin)?

Does it go away or is it permanent? Will it spread to my face?

And do you think accutane is worth it? Will it destroy me internally? My acne isn't even that bad - should I stop taking accutane?

I wouldn't stop accutane just because of a little keratosis pilaris. In time the KP should go away because it is an overproduction of keratin which the accutane should treat. I wouldn't let other people's horror stories scare you. I'm on my second round of accutane and I have very little side effects. I know lots of other people in person who have done fine on accutane with minimal side effects.
