I know this has probably been here before but I'm desperate for help.

I've seen loads of success stories for accutane and I just really want clearer skin, I'm super self conscious about my skin, especially because all of my friends have brilliantly clear skin and nothing ever seems to break them out

I've had really bad cystic acne on my face, cheat and back since I was about 11 (I'm 16 now). I've tried everything, antibiotics, topical gels, over the counter stuff, prescription creams and gels and I'm just so fed up with it. My dermatologist has offered my accutane a few times but I've had to refuse it because I don't want to go on birth control pills as hormonal breast and ovarian cancer runs in my family so I don't want to increase my risk for that even further.

I'm not sexually active and I definitely do not plan on being any time soon so would I be able to go on accutane without bc and just say than I'm not going to be having sex at all while I'm on the treatment? Or is it a case of if I don't go on birth control that I cannot go on accutane either?
