Do I not take the pills anymore or what & how can I keep my ance under control ? Ive been wanting to come of the medication so I don't want to start a new one
Hi - it is possible that your acne has built a resistance to either the minocycline, the clindamycin, or both. You may need to change up your oral antibiotics, possibly to a sulfa drug if you are not allergic. Adding a BP regimen (i.e., switching out the topical clindamycin with BP in the morning, or combining them if your doctor is ok with it) can help prevent increased resistance. This is a pretty common problem with long-term antibiotic use, unfortunately, but it's not insurmountable. It sounds like antibiotics have been very helpful to you thus far, so they should continue to be as long as you take steps to avoid resistance (like using BP, not skipping doses, and taking them for as long as prescribed).
