I think most posters here feel a lower dose/longer duration approach to taking tane is the more favorable option

Longer duration but less side effects..as long as cum dosage is met, timeframe is irrelevant

Im 130 pound female with mild but persistant acne...tired treating it with everything under the sun for 4 yrs

My dr insists if I do NOT go up to 80mg regardless of the length of course..my treatment wlll not work

she looked at me like I was cluelss when I suggested a lower dose/longer duration treatment and also questioned factoring in the severeity of my acne when deciding on a plan of action

I have a follow up in 2 weeks and want to be armed with info

Seem to be some studies out there that indicate higher dose courses have a more favorable outcome and more importantly are less inclined to relapse.

It will take longer but from the studies I've read it can be as effective and side effects should be much lower. I had a horrible experience with accutane and wish my doctor had offered me that option. You educate yourself and you tell the doctor what you want to do.
