Hello Im new in here can someone please give me some advice?? I suffer from severe acne with cysts pustules come done so and inflammatory pimples. I took Diane 35 for about 5 years then stopped when it killed those girls in France. Went on a three month accutane course. Lately over been taking doxycicline since June 2014, and about three weeks ago I grew immune to it. My derm prescribed me Minocyclin with she guaranteed it would do the same as Doxy

Doxy would clear me up beautifully from one day to the other. Well Minocyclin doesn't seem to be doing much I've been taking for three or four days. Is this normal? Does Minocyclin take more time to work? I've also been taking clarytromicin at the same time. Please help me I'm desperate!

Minocyclin , dioxycycline or other tablets for acne normally works after 6 weeks of use , you can"t accept miracle from minocyclin

in 4-5 days , atleast give a month to see if medi. Is working or not

In my opinion, antibiotics are not the way to go if you suffer from inflammatory acne. Antibiotics, taken on a long term basis, wrecks havoc on one's health on the overall. Your acne gets resistant to antibiotics over time as well. Best to try out other forms of treatment.. I find skincare a really important step in getting rid of acne and many people are simply using skincare that is too harsh or not right for their skin type.

P.s: I took doxycycline for 2 whole years. My acne lessened at the start, started coming back and came back worser when I stopped.

I started Doxycycline last summer and it worked beautifully for like 6 months, and has stopped. I still take it even though I'm pretty sure it just doesn't work anymore. I'm waiting for my doctor to sell my what to do. He's been talking about "Erythromycin Topical Gel" which I have yet to get my hands on. He told me that it would cost $30 with my insurance, the pharmacist wanted $170. So I'm pretty lost. I'm also pretty sure that my acne is the worst that its ever been, while still being mild-ish (I'd say 3, 10 being AWFUL) now that Doxy has stopped working. Although that could be because I'm 17, stressed out because of high school, etc. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Every acne face product that I have used basically only dries my skin out and doesn't clear pimples away.
