It's raining heavily here for after some days with the promise of spring. I've nothing good to say either.

...I think peole was expecting my skin to be polished and princess like instantly after telling them about all the bad possible side effects. Have to admit I was kind of hoping for that myself But after having acne for almost half of mine life, there are acne sars and large pores, which may need lazer treatments after this, and there are still some months to go for the skin texture to clear up. Including those dreadfull red marks from the IB. Grrrr...!

Just had a mini melt down in my bathroom

thank goodness its not front and center
but i am really starting to hate tis shit!!!!!
Guess just keep holding on for hope and the day I wake up and stiop breaking out every god damn day!

I'm having a doctors plan that tells me I should take between 8500 and 10 000 mg, regardless of the time it takes... . I find it a bit strange and fascinating how different countries have different ways to do this.. . Finishing month three in 3 days, can't wait to see what month 4 has got to offer!
Would be going crazy without my running shoes on as well, derp. Let's hope we can continue the workout!

said no problem staying on it 7 mnth (1 mnth longer) if having side effects...agreed about cum dose..yeaaahh!
Im happy we are on the same page but a little sad that just means im dealing with this longer

so I think she is calling me in 60mg tabs and wants me on 60mg (though I admitted with all the eye issues I wasnt really taking 75mg anymore..more like 50!)

IDK my skin was at its best on 40mg...I had a good 2-3 week period without a single new blip
but part of me wants to get as muc tane as possible in me so it works!!

that will be 1500mg a mnth and a total of 4500 the next 3 mnths..so I think I could still be done at 6 mnths.

Wow Kim, I thought it had to be between 120-150 mg/kg. It really makes me wonder about the drug. If it changes so much from country to country but also from derm to derm who is right? What works the best? *sigh* I'm so lost! and even more since I don't have an actual derm following my progress. And now here I am, almost 3 months and a half done on 5 months and I can't say that I love the way I am looking... All those red marks! I really don't know what to do. Maybe I'll try calling my doc to have a sixth month added, but it will be more than 150 mg/kg for total dosage. I had a bad gastroenteritis on Sunday night so I skipped the pills for 2 days. I don't think it will change anything but I am more afraid of my stomach now.

someone here did some calculations for me and even at 60mg for the next 3 mnths
I think my overall cum dose will be considered HIGH
I think my Dr is being agresive
She wanted me on 80mg the last 4 mnths of treatment which would have blown the dosage out of the water
i guess she wants to ensure this acne crap is gone for good
BUT these symptoms seem to be building and I think lower dose for a longer period right now is the best way to go
Wether that means 50mg or even 40..idk...I just want to feel better and stop breaking out!!!
I took 75m yesterday...ironic today i break out with the worst spot since xmas...Dr said had nothing to do with it

Sorry Kim for that bad breakout! I'm sure it's just a coincidence... But it's also funny I didn't have any new one during the two days I didn't take the pills! and today that I took it back, I have one or two new. It's now so difficult to tell when they are new or not... It's as if they appeared already flat like red marks. Very very strange!!!
Sorry to hear about your stomach Mary. Are you feeling all good again? I had some serious stomach cramps one day each week for the last two weeks, the pain being in the middle, but on the left side. Red the side effects leflet twice and again, and didn't feel to good when I took the meds. I'm kind of hoping it was water cysts on my ovary (sorry guys for the girl talk), and nothing to do with the tane.... .
Kim; I'm to take somewhere between 8500 an 10 000 mg, and is 63 kilo. I'm sure your (crazy) doctor will have a change of heart at your last appointment regarding what dose you should end up at. 80 mg and more seems way too much for your weight! And the extra month seems crazy. try alternate between 40/60, or try a week of 60 and see how your eyes react. Getting dry is not the worste side effect... .
Mary; are you not seeing your doctor again at all, or is it like here where I will see my derm when I'm almost finish, and then talk about how it has been, and what exact dose I should take? I go to a private derm because you may have to wait 6 months for a public derm, and the private once have this system where you see them at the beginning, then after 1 month to discuss if you can take a higher dose, and then at the end. But if I would like to see her inbetween I just have to pay those 250 dollars....

Im comfy wearing my glasses now and with drops every 2 hrs the dryness isnt that bad
It was the gunk that freaked me out the most and my eye getting glued together..LOL
It seems like the drops and meds the eye Dr gave me have, for the most part, prevented that from happening again

Hi everyone!
Glad to be on the board, I finished my tane last year in June, sadly I relapsed but not to the greater extent that my acne use to be before Accutane...
I'm now on Differin ( Adapelene ) 0.1% gel, and sadly it's not made a difference, it's able to neutralize current breakouts but it doesn't stop them coming and I've been on this since November... My review is in March, but my discharge letter from the NHS states I should try other meds should this fail. Lymecycline,, Zineryt, Oxytetracycline, Isotrex gel, etc...
Do I give these products a chance or ask to be put straight back onto Accutane? I'd really rather go back to Accutane, and I tried a few of those meds before Accutane, hence the reason I went onto Accutane because all else failed....
Opinions?
I hear it is failry common to do a second course
The second course is usually a lower dose (less side effects)
My hunch is saying try that shorter/lower dose second course....rather than wrestle with topicals and the chance in might get worse

Im feeling down today...Im fed up
My derm agreed to a 7-8 mnth course because of my eyes...and I am sick of feeling dry/tight....daily breakouts
wondering if a lower dose would work..the only time i have been breakout free was when I was on 40mg
wondering if the cum dose is causing these skin issues or the dose i am taking per day with the forced heat/cold is too much?

Coffee girl: I don't have a derm... I have been prescribed Tane by a doc at the clinic, one that did not know me at all. She wrote a prescription for 5 months and told me she would call me only if there was something wrong with my monthly bloodworks. I could not have the paper to see a proper derm even after asking to 3-4 differents docs. No follow-up. I just call if something goes wrong... But my doc does not know Tane very well, I had to show her the recommended dosage on my iPod!!! There are no private derm in my city that would accept a new patient without having a recommendation paper. There are some in Montreal but that is 3 hours away and I don't have a car. 
now I really wonder what to do, since I have only a little more than a month and a half to go with daily new pimples. I never had pimples so small but they are still there and they worry me. I am afraid that if I call my doc she won't know what to recommend anyway. Like should I do an extra month even if that would bring me to 165 mg / kg total ??? So looost!!!
Oh and by the way, my stomach is better thanks for asking. It was just a bad virus!

Seems everyone reacts differently
Ive heard some like to have ZERO breakouts for 2 mnths before stopping meds
(people GENERALLY clearing mnth 3/4)
Ive read others that broke out until they stopped tane and only after stopping did the breakouts go away!

My Dr wanted me on 80mg but was ok with 50-60 (whatever i wanted) because of the side effects but did suggest an additional mnth (7mnth course)
not sure why since at 6 mnths I will still have hit my cum dose (though on low side)
I can keep u posted on my progress and what my Dr suggests at my next appt...

My experience on Tane was really good, I never did experience any major side effects and only the common ones such as dryness, dry lips, etc.
It was just a shame that I relapsed, but my skin has never gone to the way it was before Accutane, it's just mild/moderate acne now as opposed to spots everywhere with a few cysts thrown in...
Perhaps some of the less severe acne treatments will do me wonders and work this time round, it's probably best to try anyway. If not, then a 2nd course of Accutane should do some serious damage to the current acne. Hopefully!
