Hello! I'm hoping someone can clear up a couple questions for me concerning Claravis (generic Accutane).
Im and 21 years old and on a form of Accutane for the third time.
In high school I tried everything, so I was put on a generic version of Accutane. After a month I gave up. Senior year, I was put on Accutane, no generic version, but the side effects were so severe (I guess generic versions aren't that bad) so I stopped taking it.
Now, a junior in college, I'm ready to sick to it and I have been on Claravis for a month. My facial acne was pretty bad, mostly cystic, so I was excited to get rid of it. I have always had very oily skin, from my face, my scalp and my body.
These are where my questions come in...
My face has significantly cleared up, and I have noticed my oily skin has diminished - on my face, scalp, and body.
After I finish my Claravis cycle though, will my oily skin remain at bay?
I know my acne won't return, or shouldn't, but how about the oil?
Also, my body acne hasn't really cleared up. I think with the reduced oil I've noticed a little clearing, but not what I expected.
Does anybody have any results, testimonials, stories about their time on Claravis?
Hey there,
Hope I can answer some of your questions. I took Claravis back in 2010 and was 19 years old at the time and it completely cleared me up. Trust me accutane works but to warn you it really depends on your body. My oily skin came back at the end of 2012. It wasn't really oily in 2011 and most of 2012 but slowly it got worse. I am currently on my second course of accutane and I am on my 15th day of accutane. But i am one of those rare cases where you have to go on accutane again. My skin was normal and really clear during my time post accutane. I was always getting compliments that my face was glowing. What dosage are you on? While accutane did clear my skin up the first time, my current derm thinks that my acne came back because my previous derm did not prescribe me the correct dosage and should have prescribed me a higher dosage because I was on 40 mg my first month and then lowered to 20 mg the rest of my accutane journey my first time. My current derm also said that claravis isn't a good brand because she gets patients who took claravis come back for a second course of accutane. She says amnesteem is absorbed much better than claravis but I am about 18 days in my second course of accutane with amnesteem and currently have no more oily skin. I have pics on my profile of my first accutane experience with clarivis. It did work trust me!
