How long have you been using it and is it working for you? Did you get a bad breakout like me?

I've only been using it about 2 and a half weeks so far but I think it is working. I'm going through a minor breakout at the moment but it isn't too bad at all and the overall impression is definitely one of improvement. My skin is significantly better than before I started using it. That said, I'm also on antibiotics so that might have been what minimised the breakout for me. How long have you been on it and how is it going for you at the moment? Always nice to compare notes! :)

I been using it for 3 weeks or so. The first week or so i used it every other day. Im using it everyday now at night. However, i gotten a lot of new cystic acne the last week and worried. When i first used it for few days, it seemed to make my cystic pimple smaller but now it seems to get worst and worst.

When you say thin layer for the whole face, so you mean put a pea size amount on your left finger, then take your right finger and get a bit of it on each quadrant of the face with acne? I find a pea size amount is small even for one area of the face but the though of pea size for the entire face... how would that even be enough for someone with acne all over their face?

Well I think you should hang in there with the Epiduo because it has really helped to flatten out all my cystic acne. Like I say it might just have started working a bit faster for me because I'm using it alongside antibiotics so hopefully you'll be seeing some improvement soon!

I literally don't even put it on my finger I just take what I need from the tube. What I mean is I judge how much I use by the thickness of the layer rather than the amount of solution. So I just use as much as I need to apply a very thin layer all over my face and am just careful to be very sparing when I apply it. Luckily doing this I've had very little problem with irritation and have been using it every night for the whole 2 and a half weeks. I think the pea-sized amount instruction is just to discourage people from going mad with it and using way too much. You just need enough to cover all the places with acne with a small amount of solution, I wouldn't worry too much about using exactly a pea-sized amount. Hope that helps!

Solodyn was expensive as hell and didn't do a thing for my acne.

Are you being really strict about applying just a very thin layer? What is your moisturiser regimen? I would advise strongly against applying moisturiser on top of the Epiduo as I think it causes irritation. I've been using it for 3 weeks and am still getting the odd cyst as well but they're going down much quicker than before. I believe topical retinoids (the adapelene in Epiduo) often cause an initial breakout like this as they work on bringing all the stuff underneath to the surface. Hopefully if you give it a few more weeks you should start to clear up a bit :)

Hi. At first i used a very thin layer. So i just put it all over my right jawline as i have a ton of acne there. But then i started getting more acne on my forehead etc and then i got more cystic pimples on my right jawline. And the thin layer wasn't really enough... so i put more than that. Do you think that is the reason for this? I had asked someone if a pea size meant for the whole face or for each area of the face and some ppl said whole face but others said for each area of the face. I feel like this layer just isn't enough for the entire face if you have cystic pimples all over your face. Because you woud be putting way way too little.

My right jawline has huge cysts that i did not have before. If you look very closely, theres like 40 pimples on my right jawline and thats not counting the 6-7 huge red cystic pimples. Yes it is definitely irritated. It hurts as well when i move my neck. I didn't have this problem before i used the epiduo though it did hurt just a bit.

I just moisturize my face during the day. At night i apply epiduo. I don't apply moisturizer after it. My right jawline area is very severe acne right now. Before epiduo, it was severe but not as this severe. Its just really red and inflamed and you see huge bumps of cystic acne all over it. Im just starting to question if i should continue or not b/c i never had this much cystic acne on one area of my face before. And this area is really big.

Maybe use the Epiduo every other night instead of every night for a week or so to give your skin a chance to calm down. I'm not sure why you've got so many more cysts than you had before using Epiduo. It's had the opposite effect on my skin so I've gone from having a jawline very much like the one you describe before using Epiduo to now just having the odd cyst here and there and otherwise mainly smaller spots and hyperpigmentation. It might be that this particular topical just doesn't agree with your skin, but I'd give it another week or so (using it every other night) in case this is just the initial breakout and your skin purging itself of everything that was lying underneath the surface. If it doesn't get any better you should probably talk to your dermatologist about it and see what they suggest. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Okay i'm wondering should i just quit the epiduo. My jawline before i started it was already bad. I had around 5-6 cystic pimples in that area. The area was also red and irritated. After using epiduo for a few weeks, not only do i have those same cystic pimples, i have around like 30-40 of these pimples in that same area now. These are the type that you only see when you are close to a mirror, thus from a distance you cannot see it. They are definitely pimples and feel like it. Should i stop using the epiduo? My acne in my jawline area is so severe right now. It was already severe when i saw the derm and now after the epiduo, its even worst.

How long should i continue for? It might be purging but if there is no sign of these pimples getting better, then when i should i quit? Im worried the epiduo is making things even worst for my jawline area now.
