I feel kind of lost. I am a 19 year old male who has never posted in anything like this. I am currently taking sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 and using retin-a micro(%0.04) at night. And take 50mg of zinc a multivitamin and two fish oil pills in the morning. I use st.ives almond scrub in my morning, shower or what ever it is. My acne has died down but i've always had a problem with picking and now have dark spots on my upper cheeks. I'm still getting around 2 new blemishes every other night but i have a number of small under the skin zits on my cheeks near the mouth and on my forehead. I work out hard 5 times a week. So i guess what i'm trying to ask is if anyone has ANY advice for me that might help?

I have been on the antibiotics and using the retin-a for about a month now.

I've also been changing my sheets and doing the towel trick.

The dark spots are usually a result of picking and then exposure to sunlight. You can't do both.

Changing sheets and towel does nothing. I workout 5 days a week like yourself (I'm in 29), in short, there's no easy answer.

common things that can help are:

- check your cleansing routine - maybe its too harsh or not enough

- check your diet are you getting the right vitamins and minerals that your body needs etc

- try not to pick or play with pimples much easier said than done but can stop bacteria spreading and also it won't irritate pimples any further

- are you getting enough sleep?

See that's why i'm confused i've already checked 3 out of those 4: I always make sure to get close to a full nights sleep, i take vitamins, zinc and omega 3s, and i use cetaphil for oily skin for wash, and cetaphil moisturizer.

Does anyone know any products that will help or are hurting my daily routine?

Zinc and fish oil pills made my face worse years ago but maybe that's just me, the only vitamin I would recommend is vitamin a. Try using the full strength retin-a micro and use more of it, a tiny little pea size amount wouldn't do anything for me, I use a lot of it and it's really working for me. It sounds like you're already exfoliating so that's good, it's important to get rid of the dead skin.

Yeah, I actually use a good amount of the retin-a. Does anyone think i should use a bp cleanser in the shower instead of using the st. ives? I also have an appointment with my derm monday would it be wise to try to get an accutane perscription?

P.s. thanks for all the replies it's nice to just type out what i am doing, and get others opinions on it.
