Puella: no unfortunately it is not the same thing. water fasting allows your body to shut down the digestive system and focus your body on repairing itself. it is the best form of detoxing. going on walks is probably a good thing to do be doing anyway though i would think.

Experienced severe loss of libido/ED during my second course of accutanenow trying to determine if this is due to accutane or something else
Symptoms:
Loss of morning wood (indicates not psych problem)
Loss of libido
ED/Impotence
Less important/could be imagining this due to shit on the net ive read:
Darker/foamy/bubbly urine, slightly water ejaculate
Gynaecomastia
My lab results:
Elevated prolactin
Elevated Iron
Elevated transferrin saturation
Elevated thyroglobulin antibodies
These results were elevated enough to be flagged but not enough to require immediate medical attention
Possible causes:
Patuitary tumor
Heamochromatosis
Renal failure
Thyroid disorder
Random shit due to accutane [Edited image out][Edited image out]
Note: cant seem to find a link between my test results
Has anyone had similar test results to me? Or been tested for these possible causes?
Thanks in advance

yeah man you have some of the same sides as me. it is without a doubt the accutane. you might want to check out the forums at propeciahelp.com because we suffer from the same side effects as them (propecia is a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor and so is accutane). Their website has tons of information on the subject although they are still looking for a definitive cause and cure but are getting very close to the cause at least. Something is definitely screwed up with our endocrine system.
Things that have helped people:
long term water fasting
cannabis oil - cured accutaneispoison
stem cells
Theres a bunch of other stuff on there website you should check out although i think we are discouraged from posting about accutane on there.

Well Autoimmune thyroid (Hasimoto's) can cause high Prolactin levels & High Iron levels amongst other complications. However, Pituitary tumor can cause high prolactin levels, not sure on high Iron.
symptoms of high iron can include, sexual dysfunction, joint pain, weakness, change in skin color and other serious conditions...
High prolactin levels and high iron levels can cause kidney damage/liver damage etc...
High prolactin levels can also cause:
- impotence
- decreased size of testicles
- decreased beard growth
- muscle weakness
- breast enlargement
- milk production and secretion
I would find another physican..I am not sure if you saw a endocronligist, but you should and have a scan to make you you don't have some type of Pituitary tumor or adenomas. However, Like I said Hypothyroidism can cause a slight elevation in prolactin also and once thyroid is restored in a timely manner most issues should subside. Did you have your TSH and T4 and T3 checked?
Yes Accutane as been known to cause many hormonal and autoimmune issues! You have abnormal labs you need to get medical attention!
Thanks for your reply Oli girl!!
I have no problem believing accutane is probably the root cause...its just nice to have some secondary effects that are causing the problem so I know what Im dealing with.
I did not realise autoimmune problems could effect iron levels.i will look into this
I have had 2 CT scans, one of the whole brain and one of the pituitaryboth came back nill.
Got my first appoint with my endo in 2 months, that unfortunately was the soonest I could get.
TSH and and T4 seem to have dropped a bit but are still in range, I have not had my T3 tested.
Well thanks again! will look more into thyroid problems

Thanks for the reply man, yeah there is definitely a LOT of people with similar sides to me who took tane-check out the all things male forum but i was just hoping to see if any tanners had the same abnormalities in there blood results as i did. From my angle, accutane seems to have caused some secondary effect such as thyroid auto immune disorders or heamochromatosis.
So I've been found to have low sIgA levels, which means my intestinal mucosal lining is damaged. Also I have a rather high white blood cell count. In other words, my immune system is quite busy reacting to all the stuff that enters via the intestines. I will get a sonography of my gallbladder and liver next week and try to get my hands on UCDA. Heres my plan:
1. Get the bile flowing / support digestion / possibly elimination of Accutane
- Epsom Salts
- UCDA
- Olive Oil / Lemon combo
- Taurine
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Glucaric acid, either by supplementation of Calcium D-Glucarate and/or fruits & veggies
2. Repair mucosal lining / boost sIgA
- L-Glutamine powder
- Zinc
- Vitamin A (via cod liver oil) to replace Accutane if it's still there
- Music
- Humor
- Avoid stress
3. Help the body cope with the symptoms - those things help me temporarily / calm my immune system
- Fish oil
- Raw garlic
- Hypoallergenic foods (i.e. limiting/avoiding gluten, dairy, nuts, additives etc.)
Furthermore I will probably try Triamcinolone or a similar corticosteroid and see if it does anything to reduce the severity of symptoms.
Seems like we have the exact same symptoms, finally somebody with a low IgA count.
Do you have pale stooles as well? I finally have darker stooles on a consistent basis and better digestition, that is after being through a couple of supps and UCDA over the last few months. My coated tongue has also receded noticably. I am currently not taking any supplements, but intend to go back on EPSOM salts soon.
Sometimes my stools are of a lighter brownish color, not really pale though. What I notice most is the dryness of the stool and sluggishness of the colon. It seems like a lack of biofilm/mucous. I managed to get better overnight a few times while experimenting with supplements, especially Zinc. I also have a slight gut dysbiosis and a too alkaline stool. My naturopath recommended drinking apple cider vinegar and eating yoghurt regularly. I took probiotics in the past and drank selfmade kefir for a few weeks but that didn't help with the symptoms.
I read through all of your posts, we seem to have a lot of commonalities in terms of what we have tried and what is working, but I found also some quite signifcant differences. For instance my stools are not dry.
IgA is tricky, I was not able to find a doc to put the picture together. For instance taking a conventional test for gluten will pretty much be rendered useless as long as you have an IgA deficiency. I eat gluten free and it has helped me a great deal.
Not too long ago I took "Fortakehl", which is the only medication out there that is supposed to correct an IgA deficiency. I took it under the supervision of a doctor, unfortunately I have not had the time since to get my levels taken again. At the end of March or beginning of April I will definitely get the necessary blood work done to see if the stuff helped any.

Thanks again oli girl! a few more questions, what "will come in and out"? Did graves effect your libido? and was this resolved? Cheers
Cod liver is different then say fish oil or eating salmon! It is full of fat soluble vitamin A! Some suffers have issues with all forms of vitamin A even in food form! Some do okay with beta form and omega 3! GLA a form of omega 6 is good!
There was some info back a long time ago articles regarding artic explorers eating polar bear liver and going crazy, shedding of skin etc... It just depends there was a suffer Mod who actually was deficient on vitamin A yet the only way he could take it was by I.V. Or his accutane side effects order got worse! One suffer back in the 80's took it and then developed worse issues and enhancements of accutane sides
Personally I would not take cod liver!
What i'm doing is never taking above 2000iu of natural vitamin A per day. So just a teaspoon of something like nordic naturals Arctic D would be perfect. That would give you enough to then go rebounding and sauna in the next 1-2 hours and hopefully help cleanse the body of the synthetic fat soluble toxins. Without adding a burden, if it has added D3 and vitamin E it'll only help mitigate effects, plus my diet contains no sources of vitamin A in any of the foods i eat, although i eat beta carotene fine, just stay away from carrots, goji berries, spirulina, and others very high in beta carotene.
It's merely a catalyst to push the accutane out, taking more than above recommended is foolish and will add to problems, especially once you exceed 100% RDA. I've found anything above 50% RDA is not good and as i say 1 teaspoon nordic naturals Arctic D is enough to then use a cleansing protocol to facilitate it's removal.
So for all accutane victims it would be better to just eat vegetables for vitamin A since body decides whether it is going to convert beta carotene to retinol or not. Problem solved.
I've been studying physiology last night and I was reading about liver and bile and such. Yellow colored stool could mean an intestine problem or liver problem(there are other reasons as well).
Your liver excretes bile. Bile contains bilirubin which gives green-yellow color. When bile gets into the intestine, intestine microorganism convert bilirubin to urobilinogen. Some of it is absorbed into the blood and then excreted with urine. Most of it is consumed by liver. Urobilinogen then leaves the liver(withing bile) and gets excreted again into intestine. urobilinogen converts to stercobilin(oxidizes) in the intestine and gives stool typical brown color.
Some kind of disorder in metabolism of bile pigments could cause yellow colored stool.
I apologize if you already know all of this. Maybe some don't.
I didn't read this whole forum so i am not sure; have you talked about milk thistle?

I can only comment from personal experience but i noticed zero benefit from eating beta carotene. It's seems that my body doesn't convert beta carotene to retinol. As far as bile goes there is definately something going on with most of our livers. My skin is a faint yellow colour which would indicate liver gallbladder problems, and i can't eat fat in my diet with the exception of Virgin coconut oil. My skin itches if i eat nuts, avocado's etc.
My stools have been very light for years, infact i'm convinced my gallbladder is clogged up or i have some kind of systematic inflammation throughout my liver and gallbladder.
There are possibility's such as bitter tinctures (chinese, swedish), herbal detox teas (liver orientated) liver flushing (tried it only got stones out once), cleansing the colon, juicing.......things like beets, ginger, lemon, apples, artichoke, dandelion greens.....may help the liver and a low / no fat diet.

Do You know what number your labs for TSH and Thyroglobliuns were? When you have a autoimmune disorder (thyroid, Rhuematoid, sjrogren's, lupus etc) your own antibodies attack your own cells, basically your body produces antibodies to fight foregin invaders in the body, sometimes friendly fire occurs:(
As for what I meant on it coming in and out is this.........Kinda like someone who has say Lupus the body is attacking itself (I call a flare) and then at times it goes dormant for a while and then flares up again. With Autoimmune thyroid the body is attacking your thyroid (which controls the master gland pitutary which controls hormones) So it may go dormant for a short period then act up again till the thyroid tissue is completly destroyed, that is why some get a goiter too!
With Grave's I can't remember if I did or not, I know Hasimoto's causes sexual dysfunction. I basically had hyper thyroid vs hypo thyroid so still autoimmune, but the oppisite of eachother. Yes once I got treatment for my Grave's certian symptoms were resolved, Please note though that autoimmune thyroid is a long life disease!Once you know if it is being caused by thyroid I will send you some stuff.
Also, You can have a normal TSH,T4, but have high antibodies and still have alot of symptoms!
The thing is though the longer with out treatment there is possiblity that certian symptoms may not resolve or resolve completly! However, good news is that Hasimotos is easier to treat then Graves!
If you can somehow be put on a cancellation list at the Endo so you might have a chance to get in sooner if another pts cancels would be good too!
I hope this made sense hang in there!
Happy Valentines Everyone [Edited image out]
Hi OliGirl
I was wondering if you could advise me on something.
I used Accutane over 20 years ago now, and did experience long term affects from it, but most of them are now gone
My question is I want to continue using an ointment/moisturiser called Infadolan, but it contains Vitamin A, specifically in the form of Retinyl Acetate. I have used it for a week, and its made my skin glow! I am really happy with it, but do you think I should stop as some of it MAY enter my bloodstream, although its not the oral Vitamin A form.
But i'm worried as it contains retinyl acetate. I asked the seller about it and she told me this:
"Vit. A
"Acute toxic dose is 25,000 IU/kg, and chronic toxic dose is 4000 IU/kg every day for 6-15 months.
http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/819426-overview
Our 30-gram tubes of Infadolan contain in total 48,000 IU Retinyl acetate per tube.
For acute toxicity, an individual weighing 50 kg would have to eat 26 tubes of Infadolan in one go.
For chronic toxicity, an individual weighing 50 kg would have to eat four tubes of Infadolan daily for 6 months to 15 months.
However you should not use Infadolan or other vit. A creams or ointments on extensive areas after dermarolling when pregnant.

Acute toxicity
Information on: Retinyl acetate
Assessment of acute toxicity:
Virtually nontoxic after a single ingestion.

Oral:
Information on: retinyl acetate
Type of value: LD50
Species: rat
Value: > 2,000 mg/kg (BASF-Test)

The amount of vit. A that will enter your bloodstream when using Infadolan is so small that it can't even be measured. This question has been answered already on this forum and I did the math:
You would have to eat 26 entire tubes of Infadolan in one "meal" in order to experience vit. A toxicity:
Im not seeing any more signatures on the Chnage.org petition - please guys the campaign director contacted me personally and is taking interest in getting this exposed in the media the same way thalidomide was.

Thank You LiveToRegret! I know I sent this around awhile ago and then kinda slacked off!
I started a new thread for the petition pls write on there and keep it active.
Please ask your families and friends to support you in signing it also.
If we are to expose this drug for what it really does to people and bring Roche to their knees we must get attention on the topic by way of this petition. Post it on your Facebook, I am going to get printed copies to circulate.
We need to have a data base of the long termside effects started.
Ifyou haven't report your reaction to the medical board or the therapeutic goods administration in your country DO SO.
We must refuse to suffer in silence anymore!
Sitting in this forum throwing around theories and testing a million supplements is not doing shit for us.
We need reall answers.
A real explanation. Compensation.
I willnever get my life back to what it was2 years ago, and I want answers.
Get out there and kick some ass. The is medical negligence at it's finest.
Oli Girl and LivetoRegret
Also signed the petition.
Thanks for the heads up LivetoRegret !

Just wondering if you tried high doses of Vit D. I found it made a BIG difference to Accutane side effect
I also found EPO v helpful in stopping the Accutane side effects. I am taking both now
Oli Girl,
Not sure if you saw my post to youon the Vit A cream ? Or anyone else who may know this?
I really love the cream. It's making my skin soooo smooth.
Thanks!
Also staying away from anything with Vit A in it, helped cease the long term affects for me. Mind you, I took Accutane back in 1992.
I take a multivitamin but it has NO vitamin A in it

Yes,please everyone sign it! Also if you haven't posted your experince in the negative thread please do!
Why do you think I am bringing people attention to it?
If people are not aware of it how can they sign it?
I'll see you on there sooner or later mr self medicator
The petition has less than 400 signature thus far and yet in the text it claims that over 14 million people worldwide have taken Accutane. If the side effects were truly as bad as they're claiming, you'd think they'd be able to acquire a few more signatures.
I'll also sign the petition as I feel really sorry for all of those who still haven't gotten any better... And I am sad that doctors are still prescribing this medication. This medications is highly toxic. And it isn't any better than taking loads of vitamin A supplements just because it has a special name.
Yesterday I went to my doc.professor (he specializes in prevention of aging) and we talked about it. We were just debating.
How this medication will affect your body really depends on several things. Like your regeneration abilities(really important, overall the quality of genes), age, sex, total dosage...
I remember calculating my total dosage. Accutane is the most effective when you get: 0,5-1mg/kg/day. TOTAL: 120mg/kg-150mg/kg.
You can calculate yourself just to see how high your dosage was... I finished two months early so I haven't completed my course.
The most reliable sign(to a layman and to a human eye) you have "got rid" of vitamin a in your system is when you get acne again(if your hormones haven't changed by then). Getting rid of the excess vitamin a doesn't mean side effects will go away right away. Tissues need time for regeneration,... Like for me; my periods are still a problem. BUT I can see how it is in fact getting better. Some months are not painful now whereas right after Accutane every single month for at least a year was painful. God knows what exactly happened in there? What could it be etc?
But i really believe all of you will get rid of your problems. Our bodies aren't THAT weak! I was just thinking what my mother has been through and she is still healthy (to some extent). Taking iodine which is highly radioactive? One would think that life would be impossible after that. Accutane is very strong drug, but really, human beings are very very "durable" tough and have endless power to renew itself. The best thing your can do is eat healthy, exercise, sleep well and life stress free. Stress free life excludes hundreds of hours spent online looking for answers. There isn't a magical cure or anything. Well, in fact, magical cure is a simple lifestyle. And time. Regeneration needs time. Looking after your liver wouldn't be a bad idea(no alcohol, no saturated fat, etc).
...This is how i think most of the time. Than I remember all of the bad things i read on the internet(which is why i try to stay away from the many forums) and think to myself there is no solution.
I know people do things that harm others for money . I know this happens everywhere including drug companies etc. But I doubt that they would allow young people to use a medication if the damage would be horrible, permanent. Every drug is tested and they calculate the safe dosage.
And no, Accutane doesn't alter your dna. Not the dna, so your basis is safe.
I believe you'll all be ok. I truly believe it and I know it. And if it doesn't happen soon, there are still less and less days until it happens. And if any new problems arise, you have to realize that there is more to health than just accutane.
Sorry for my long posts, I just can't find a way to make them shorter once i start writing. I'll go now, good luck everyone.
So, my last post was a bit downbeat, huh?
Will be doing a YouTube update soon, but I had to face my fears and play 5 songs on stage (by myself).
I'll save what happened for the video..
For now, I wanted to ask if anyone wanted to have an ear orgasm?
Spent all day in a studio with my friend and recorded this:
[Edited link out]
On the subject of health, do many of you have gum problems?
My breath seems to be very bad at the moment and whenever I floss, my gums (at the back) bleed badly.
Erghh.
Stefan- you are having bacterial build up from dry mouth like alot of us.
I was a dental nurse for many years.
You shouldn't be avoiding fluoride toothpaste, you should be using an alcohol free mouth wash and getting your clean done more frequently if you have gum inflammation.
To the lady above - I mow have acne and my side effects are worse than ever - my dry skin and hairloss/dryness is horrendous so your assumption that once acne returns your other issues should improve is wrong. Sorry.
Why do you think they would not allow this drug to destroy lives?
Roche have the prefect non committal explanation of Joe the drug works. They say they simply don't know. It's the ideal way to side step the damage caused by being non committal from the get go.
They have not done Any testing into researching either how it works or the long term damage done to the body.
The drug has only been on the market since 81 so what's the excuse? Not enough time? Not enough people have taken the drug? Somehow the welfare of the 14 million people that have taken it does not warrant any real testing?
Profits.

Okay mr Roche advocate- you've been a member of acne.org since 2004 but you don't have acne? You are touting that you are self medicating with accutane and suggesting others do the same? You come on a thread for accutane side effects sufferers taking the piss out of the petition I am spreading word about -oh and then in a separate thread your disputing factual evidence in relation to the impact it has on the bodies ability to heal.
How dumb do you think people are?
It's well known Roche pay people to track and discount others stories over the Internet and I put it to you that you are an affiliate of Roche trolling this website trying to garner good publicity for this toxic poison.
Get off our forum you have no reason to be here. Also- As I told you before I will take on you or any other roche damage control bots like LoiLoi from medicenet.
I'm coming for you Roche pharmaceuticals.

Glad your back around Indigo, I knew you wouldn't be gone for long! I sent you a pm a journalist in the U.K. posted on the ragfourm asking to speak to people! I figured you would be great, wish the U.S. Journalist would step up
