I agree. I was in the park and said fudge it and had some anyway. Was surprised to not get a headache. I had shrimp, veggies, cheese, hummus, all fine. This is huge. Ive been plagued by headaches for years from anything related to vit. A. The taurine/molybdenum combo is doing something. Took me 20 years but I may have finally found the missing link.

Btw, I had half a wheel of camembert cheese with dinner. No headache...

Ive used both before and never helped. Not like what molyb/taurine is doing.

Exactly. I felt fine. This was a very recent discovery. I never felt fine before eating this stuff.

What veggies you eating?

This was Sunday. Had red peppers celery, avocado, cilantro, hummus, olive oil. All this stuff would have killed me. Going to experiment with Kasha and maybe in a few days, i'll try the butter and liver (forbidden fruit).

Ive been on the vit a deficient diet for 8+ months and its so restrictive I think it was causing deficiencies. I wasnt feeling all that great tbh.

This is all unproven junk science like candida overgrowth. Dont waste your time on this..

Its too late

Kinesiologist has already done a good job and my gut is in much better shape as a result, it definitely worked for me with all the different stuff theyve put me on to clear those things

However.....I still have I suspect dopamine or serotonin issueswhich I hoped would be fixed with this whole gut/brain connection

Im going to get him to test these brain/hormonalthings more specifically over next few treatments

It is interesting and my explanation was that many cosmetics containretinol and other vitamin A ingredients. It is only a hypothesis, not sure if it is the root cause.

I only get a headache if I consume too much preformed retinol. Only way for me to do that is with beef liver or cod liver oil.

Gamma oryzanol stimulates dopamine loss, and so it's just no good for me. Msm causes insomnia. No good.

Only supplement I'm doing starting today is dhea, 100mg daily in the morning. Cortisols always been an issue for me. Dhea counteracts cortisol. Will see how it goes.

Hello, I thought I would like to join here, I've already read a few pages of the thread but far from all. I am 21 years old and have been taking Accutane for a whole year at the age of 17.(first 9 months 30mg daily, 3 months 10mg daily) It's very long compared to others, isn't it? Even though I had very mild acne. After half a year, the doctor said I should keep taking it so that it would never come back. After 5 months had a terrible rash on the neck and face that had to be treated with antibiotics and the typical extremely dry skin, eye side effects etc. After 8 months on Accutane I had very bad liver and blood values in general, but still on it for further 4 months. Oh, I regret it from the bottom of my heart, has destroyed my life so much.

9 months after the end of Accutane ME/CFS broke out after a flu. Accutane most likely played a part in the outbreak I guess. But it's an unexplored own disease and not only a damaging long term side effect or post symptom of Accutane. Before the outbreak or until the outbreak was very sporty and now bedridden and in need of care.
Is there a summary of the over 700 pages somewhere? Since I will never be able to read in my condition with the illness.

My worst suspected damage from Accutan is form of erectile dysfunction, soft glans while an erection, (seems to be a very rare damage. I only read it 3 times in connection). Furthermore extremely dry eyes, skin, libido loss, erectile numbness etc. The rest is difficult to separate from illness, but the above are certainly not symptoms of ME/CFS.

What would interest me, I have been on the vitamin A diet of Grant Genereux for 5 weeks now, eat 0-1% vitamin A per day, so only rice, meat, beans, water. It sounded very meaningful to me and worth trying. Why are so many pessimistic about this diet?

Are there to little success storys? Or because of any theory it doesn't make sense? Would like to understand, maybe someone can help me.
And lastly, what are the experiences with Ashwagandha, had to drop it because of the diet, but had a good gut feeling with it.
Best regards!

Sorry sweetie. The ED is NOT rare. They lied and still do. No, sadly there is not a summary of the 700 pages nor a way to search within it. Very annoying. I suspect your ME/CFS is not exactly true ME/CFS and I bet it is 100% due to Accutane. I wish I had better news. That is terrifying. My son is only 7 1/2 months. We are pessimistic about the diet as it seems to simple cutting out yams and mango going to heal Brain and Body damage. It sucks. It sucks that NO Doctor can help. Medical community has to admit there is an issue to help with it. Although, I would advise more than rice and beans to eat. IDK about Ashwagandha. :(

Have noticed stools not as loose now so maybe is a detox process as you have suggested, regarding dhea and cortisol, I'm low in both. So probably will avoid dhea.

Regarding the crucifer veggies appearing high on my machines recommended foods lists, it's not the dim, which is anti androgen. It's not the i3c, which is anti androgen. And it's not the sulforaphane, which causes insomnia. It might be something called brassinosteroids. I've got a brassinosteroid supplement coming in the mail Monday.

About a decade ago, during a period of trazodone use I tried some gamma o, which is massive amounts of gamma oryzanol, a plant steroid, some cla, and pomegranate extract. In under a week I was on top of the world. I felt and looked amazing. Total euphoria. God like. The cla soon damaged my liver and I had to stop it. The trazodone Rx is long gone and no desire to go back to it. Trazodone causes a buildup of dopamine in the brain. Gamma oryzanol depletes brain dopamine. Trying to balance tyrosine with gamma o is extremely tedious and difficult.

One of the top supplement recommendations from my machine is wild yam, which isn't really for men, but it is a source of plant steroids. It's possible my machine detects low hormones, and wild yam is the only thing in the machines supplement database for pro hormonal effects.

What if this brassinosteroid supplement can produce the same anabolic effects as gamma o, without the unwanted dopamine depletion? Will soon find out one way or another. Stay tuned.

Retinyl palmitate. So it may eventually subside with your beef liver pills. Seemed to take a while, but it's definitely improved.

I got the best sleep Ive had in ages with dhea. Popped 100 mg of it this morning and anticipate more good sleep tonight. Beta ecdysterone arrives Sunday. The plan is to continue with 100mg of dhea daily until the bottle runs out. Switch to ecdysterone at that point and compare the two.

Someone here mentioned having low estrogen. They likely had low T also. I suspect everyone here has low T due to accutane. Dhea is a T precursor. There is no whole herb that can do what dhea is able to do. I've tried them all. The question is can ecdysterone or laxogenin do what dhea can do, or better? Will keep the board posted.

DHEA ist not available in Germany. It can be imported through an international pharmacy. But you need a prescription for that.

Hey guys !

I wanted to share my story with you and let you guys know what I am doing now to regain my health. I took accutane in 2010, I remember watching a video Stefan Lay posted on youtube about accutane and it's side effects and I just didn't believe the guy and I took it for about 4 months. I was a really healthy guy before accutane, just had the lack of confidence caused by the acne itself .

So after tane I felt miserable, I felt tired all the time, my hands were always sweating, I had this crazy anxiety all of sudden and my memory was the worst, I couldn't think properly and I had no feelings, it was like I stopped being myself and the worst part was that I was counscious about it and it really got me down. I remember taking vacation and coming to Brazil in january 2011 a month after I stopped accutaneand when meeting my family I just had no feelings, I was really closed to them and It seemed I lacked social skills and social feelings, it's quite hard to explain.

Around september 2011 I found this forum and I connected the dots . I tried many natural supplements, zinc, magnesium, omegas, raw food diet, colon hidrotherapy , probiotics , herbs, water fasting, saunas etc. I just wanted to be myself again, I wanted to regain my memory, my energy and I just wanted to be myself again. The raw vegan diet seemed to help the digestion and I was excited at first but then it just got worse and worse, I gave up trying to heal myself in 2015 and just started eating what I wanted and stopped thinking about all that was related to health.

2017 I had the worst year , I was having so many problems, my health was failing , my brain wasn't working and I had so many responsabilities and had to keep working to feed my family. So I again started to look for things and started the vegan diet again, I was having panic attacks almost on a daily basis and I was in despair, I asked God to help me and in 2019 in April I decided to come to this forum again and I stumbled in a message of a guy saying he was getting better doing the Vitamin a free diet . I was so sick, didn't have energy to talk and work and I decided to try it .

I began this diet in april 5th 2019 and it took a few months for me to start feeling the results but slowly my energy started to come back, my memory just started coming back, it's weird but after accutane it seemed that I lost my " affective memory" I don't know if you call it that way in English, but I didn't remember what it was like having feelings, like happiness, affection and so on and by december, I started to feel joy, happiness, affection and my memories just started to flow in my mind again. I'm not sure if you have or had this issue but regaining my memory and my affection is just a big deal for me. My worst side effects were the psychological ones , the brain fog , , memory problems, very bad anxiety and depression and it's being healed, for real. I'm feeling like myself again and my memories are coming back, even the memories I had when I was a kid, thing that I didn't have a year ago, I just forced myself to feel or remember things of my childhood and I just couldn't and now it comes easily.

Before accutane I just wanted to party and I just looked at myself and just cared about myself. I praise God that I am able to work now, I can think and have energy and everything is just getting bette, I think I've become a better person trough all this suffering and I don't take things for granted anymore, I value life, my family and friends big time now andI felt it was an obligation to come here and let you guys know, even though I don't you, you are like a brother or sister for me, you've also being trough much suffering and I pray that God will heal you.

Keep strong and don't give up .

If you are interested on my diet, here is what I've been eating:

-Rice and beans.

- Potatoes ( white ).

-onions( white)

-cauliflower

-peanuts

-pineapple

-beef ( without fat ) once or twice a week.

-sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and sometimes chia seeds.

-brazil nuts, walnuts.

-cassava ( tapioca)

-wheat bread

-banana

-distilled water ( no contaminants)

-vitamin b12 methylcobalamin

Basically, I eat everything that is low in vitamin A .

Take care of yourselves guys and all the best for you.

@under_towThanks!Did you also have sexual disorders that have improved? Wonder if this diet can also improve my special erectile disorders with the soft glans. Only can't explain how, since it seems to be a blood circulation problem. Furthermore the glans got very dry, too, so maybe that will improve at least.

@malouda1989thank you for sharing, encourages me to stay on the diet.

@Lio98 I never had severe libido issues, but everything is working perfectly now. Only time will tell for you, this is an experiment that very few have tried. I hope that these issues like severe sexual sides and severe dry eyes (Meibomian gland dysfunction) can be helped by low VA. Getting VA out is not a sprint, it is a marathon. Normal liver on normal western diet can hold over 2yrs worth of VA, and we are not sure what accutane does to this excretion. Focusing on low VA foods, rice, beans, beef, B vitamins, soluble fiber, sunlight, rest.

@malouda1989 Good to hear you are doing better, I am 1.5yrs now on low VA, all health PAS issues continue to improve.

Hey guys,

just wanted to share this with you guys. This is the owner of [removed] (glandulars / heart organ/liver organs/brain supps).

this will be part of my next stack alongside RSO.

i asked him some questions

If you consider it a chemo treatment, what supplements would you advice to take for those sufferers.
Bovine Tracheal Cartilage has been really helpful for those customers who struggle with cancer and have gone through chemo...

Are you familiar with the great Dr. John Prudden and his work with bovine tracheal cartilage? The lifes work of Dr. John F. Prudden showed that bovine tracheal cartilage had unique and powerful effects on wound healing, immune conditions, joint health and other conditions considered to be treatment-resistant to conventional therapies. All of these conditions were immune in nature with the exception of the wound healing studies.

Those treatment-resistant conditions include treatment-resistant cancer, psoriasis, arthritis, scleroderma, and wound healing. I'd encourage you to Google it sometime... his work is peer-reviewed, published in respected journals, and of course, tucked away in favor of non-native ways to treat symptoms (w/ pharma) in contrast to the root cause.

According to Dr. Prudden, bovine cartilage closely resembles fetal mesenchyme, the primordial tissue from which muscle, bone, tendons, ligaments, skin, fat and bone marrow (the heart of the immune system) all develop. This is one of the various proposed mechanisms of action... this is indeed a powerful compound... this was before modern day stem cell research. This is very interesting stuff... it's clinically proven... it's well published... it's anecdotally backed and supported.

Do you have any experience with accutane sufferers?
Yes. I find most customers who focus on improving their liver and hormone health do very well. This can be accomplished simply with consuming Beef Liver, but some may choose Beef organs and also support adrenal or thyroid health, or many men choose our MOFO...
Do you consider your supplements a replacement therapy or does it actually heal the organs. (this one is important for me).

Our products are just whole foods and they support overall health and the health of the corresponding organ. Customers have been able to find relief from many symptoms while restoring their health and they may not need to continue taking our products forever. I hope this answers your question.

Do the brain supplements cross the BBB?
While we're not currently aware of specific radioisotope studies involving brain glandular crossing the blood-brain barrier, it's nice to know that, according to the gold standard study design, brain glandular has been found to improve both behavior and cognition... this is according to multipledouble-blind placebo-controlled multicenter studies.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Good post Columbus. Brian's a great guy with great products. It's funny you posted that when you did. See below. Regarding my dhea experiment, I think dhea is ok for a lot of people, but I don't think it's the answer for us.

Current protocol is ancestral supplements beef brain/liver, with alpha gpc. So far no negative reaction to the brains phosphorous content or the livers retinol content, thanks to the alpha gpc. Alpha gpc activates alkaline phosphatase, and also contributes to the body's lecithin supply, which contributes to lecithin retinol acetyltransferase, the enzyme responsible for retinoic acid metabolism. Beef brain supplies dha, which is an rxr and rar ligand. Not any difference physically at this point but do feel better mentally.

The wikipedia entry for hypervitaminosis A mentions phosphatadylcholine, which is lecithin, for recovery from hypervitaminosis A. Alpha gpc boosts lecithin supply. Dr rons is another supplier of beef brain, and there are many brands of beef liver available. Will keep the board posted.

Hi All,

Again, a very long time since I last posted. I haven't posted in a while because my routine is working for me. To be honest, I forget about this thread and the people on it (for that I am sorry).I'll try to keep it brief and hit the highlights.

Synopsis: I took 2 rds of accutane in middle school/high school (back in like 2008/2012). My acne started getting really bad again so I took high amounts of vitamin a (not beta carotene, just the standard vitamin a, self-prescribed btw) and noticed my acne going away. However, that came with side effects similar to what you guys noticed: lethargy, brain fog, hair loss, really bad/aging skin, feelings of depression. No erectile dysfunction tho. Anyways, came to this thread sometime in 2013/2014 and have been following since.

My current routine allows me to live life fully, happily, with reduced side effects such as skin/hair damage, feel positive and productive and have been able to gain muscle.

Current Program: I'm currently following the below diet in order to address this:

Morning.Gut routine = first thing when I wake up, apple cider vinegar (~1/2 tbsp, dont really measure it), wait 30 mins then take 1 Biohm priobiotic supplement, wait 30 mins then take 1 Priobiomed 100 (designs for health).

Others= I take 600 mg ashwaganda, 5g creatine monohydrate, 600 mg NAC. These aren't intended specifically to address the accutane/vit A side effects, mainly ashwaganda to help with stress, creatine for weight lifting, and NAC cause my parents recommended in light of the COVID stuff. Apparently NAC has some anti-aging benefits too.

Night: Gut routine = GI Microb X followed by GI Revive (both of these are by designs for health).

Others =Another 600 mg ashwaganda and 400 mg holy basil. Again, not specific to accutane side effects just supplements to help with stress.

Before meals: Gut routine = Digestzymes (designs for health)

General Dieting: ALWAYS avoid processed sugars (candy, ice cream, alcohol), low carb in general, high protein and focus on foods that are anti-inflammatory in nature. Additionally, I avoid things with a lot of ingredients (generally the pre-packaged stuff, i never eat cheetos, chips, etc and avoid snacking) and stick to the philosophy that simple, whole foods are best. I do NOTmake an effort to avoid vitamin A. Ieat veggies when available and carrots, etc. I also have a moderate amount of coffee -- that said, I've heard it is not good for your gut.

Key Takeaways: I truly believe the issue, for me at least, is in the gut. I haven't done a deep dive into the science like some of you guys. That said, my current gut routine is EXPENSIVE. I just don't spend money on other things now -- my funds go to my health. I try to live a healthy life and avoid stress (also bad for the gut). I also might look like a walking advertisement for Designs for Health -- this is simply a brand Itrust from doctors, reviews, etc. It's more expensive than others. I'm sure you can look up the supplements and find similar ingredients for cheaper. Generally i get all my stuff on Amazon and look for brands with good/lots of reviews.

Biohm is a new one to my routine. They advertise that their gut supplement has enzymes to break down "digestive plaque", which protects bad bacteria and fungi. I've been taking it for about a month now and i think it is helping -- that said, you may want to research this a bit more.

Hard drinking/drugs will consistently setme back -- I can see visible impacts in my gut (diahrea, dark/loosepoops next day) as well as my skin/hair (gets dry, whitens up, hair falls out and gets dry) and my attitude (get pretty depressed). I'm hopeful that Biohm combined with my other routine will eventually build up a strong enough gut to withstand more than a few beers. That said, avoiding alcohol/drugs is not a sacrifice that bothers me.

Closing: I hope you guys have been able to manage during these tough times. You can reach out to me directly, but to be honest, I'm not great at responding. My current routine was obtained from a lot of trial and error and I am not convinced that we all have the same issues/treatment. I hope this helps.
