Repairing the long-term damage from Accutane

Interesting read. Something to consider in the future if this doesn't work. Synthetic exogenous steroids scare me though. I try to stay as natural as possible. I believe a healthy liver boosts testosterone more than anything else. Will see how this combo goes.

Thanks for the info. The machine seems to indicate my histidine is normal. I took alpha gpc, broccomax, and cordyceps when I got up today. Just did a scan and now whole beef liver is coming in at the very top of the foods list for virtually every organ in the body.

My theory is that sulfur rich broccomax is reaching deep into the cell nucleus where accutane is hiding via nrf2, grabbing and pulling it out, leaving my rxr and rar receptors naked, exposed, and starving for true retinol. I just took 6 capsules of whole beef liver. Will see how this goes.

An idea derived from bodybuilding forums might be for everyone to include their current stack at the bottom of their posts.

Current stack: Cordyceps, broccomax, alpha gpc, whole beef liver.

All it says is 100% usrda vitamin A. Which is 5000 iu I believe. Some brands use larger capsules which means four capsules. I don't think any brands recommend dosages above 100% us rda. No bad reaction to the beef liver. Massive loose stools though. Explosive. Strong detox sign. Doing it again later today with food.

You cant still be thinking your body is expelling tane in that fashion surely??

Did you recently say you were on it in 1992?

some 28 years ago

For me it was 1998, I dont attribute though any explosive toilet matters to my body expelling tane, not on the same level like Ive just eaten a meal I dont agree with, just saying

Thats not to say it still might be in us at a very micro level....or not. Ever considered its not in us at all but in fact has changed how we handle anything thats Vit A related - food or supplements

Not one has ruled that little theory out, cause no one knows for sure yeah

Some of the supplements your currently using do sound interesting, Id be be taking them though for slightly different reasons though other than detox

Sure it's possible that it's long gone and dna is changed. I've always been open to that. Why all of the sudden is it impossible for it to still be inside the body? Many people theorize this, including naturecrazy. Accutane is radioactive. Chernobyl happened in 1986. How liveable is Chernobyl right now? Not very. Radioactive materials have extremely long half lives. Radioactivity is what makes accutane so difficult to get rid of. Google search sulforaphane for radiation.

We need to remember the concept of polarity. Cis vs trans. Accutane is all cis and zero trans, which makes it extremely polarized. What happens to polarized material? It becomes magnetic. It likes to cling to things, and doesn't easily let go.

Loose stools is a pretty typical detox reaction.

Good point, Got to say this might be the key. Wouldn't that be mind-blowing to think people have all the scientific ideas and the real truth is we have evolved to put viamin A down the toilet.

@Aaron76 you got to consider this. This would explain everything if correct, nothing states it's not possible.

Wonder if there's any any studies testing fecal vitamin A in accutane exposed patients compared to controls.

Dont get me wrong, I like plenty of your theories but for the sake of a healthy debate it must be considered that all the detoxing has been done. Of course were forever detoxing theoretically, thats what our liversdo....just a thought, I dont pretend to know for sure

It could be that our systems dont know what to do with Vit A, posttane has somehow changed how we metabolise anything to do with Vit A

Is a bit weird how we are very constipated after acctune then vitamin A gives us loose stools, me included, but only at high doses. Gets you thinking, right? Or wrong?

I read once vitamin D supplements in high dosages eventually can cause constipation.

Ive said plenty before that it's possible it's gone and it's dna damage. I've never been constipated post accutane. It's always been ibs-d. I never got the really loose stools until I combined the broccomax with beef liver. I don't believe that's a permanent effect. I believe it to be temporary.

Sulfurophane caused pain in my mouth. Accutane destroys the nerves, and sulforaphane regenerates nerves. Pain is gone now, but if it comes back I'm ok with it. Eventually it will diminish as the oral health sorts itself out.

If I do whole beef liver without broccomax I get extreme headaches. I'm still with Dr. Morse on the clogged lymph system theory. He's wrong about fruitarianism but his theories about the lymph system make sense to me. I suspect the sulfurophane is helping the lymph system while it's also helping the liver.

Vitamin d is a hormone, and it's always been a health wrecker for me. I think my body wants to make its own vitamin d, and when unnatural exogenous d is introduced, it becomes agitated that the natural process is being interfered with. God didn't create us to eat our Vitamin d. He created us to make our own.

Vitamin e has always been bad too. I've never been a fan of crucifer veggies, so my body has likely been starving for the sulfurophane. I'd think it would be beneficial for anyone who doesn't like crucifers.

Hello, I thought I would like to join here, I've already read a few pages of the thread but far from all. I am 21 years old and have been taking Accutane for a whole year at the age of 17.(first 9 months 30mg daily, 3 months 10mg daily)It's very long compared to others, isn't it?Even though I had very mild acne. After half a year, the doctor said I should keep taking it so that it would never come back. After 5 months had a terrible rash on the neck and face that had to be treated with antibiotics and the typical extremely dry skin, eye side effects etc. After 8 months on Accutane Ihad very bad liver and blood values in general, but still on it for further 4 months. Oh, I regret it from the bottom of my heart, has destroyed my life so much.

9 months after the end of Accutane ME/CFS broke out after a flu. Accutane most likely played a part in the outbreak I guess. But it's an unexplored own disease and not only a damaging long term side effect or post symptom of Accutane. Before the outbreak or until the outbreak was very sporty and now bedridden and in need of care.
Is there a summary of the over 700 pages somewhere? Since I will never be able to read in my condition with the illness.

My worst suspected damage from Accutan is form of erectile dysfunction, soft glans while an erection, (seems to be a very rare damage. I only read it 3 times in connection). Furthermore extremely dry eyes, skin, libido loss, erectile numbnessetc. The rest is difficult to separate from illness, but the above are certainly not symptoms of ME/CFS.

What would interest me, I have been on the vitamin A diet of Grant Genereux for 5 weeks now, eat 0-1% vitamin A per day, so only rice, meat, beans, water. It sounded very meaningful to me and worth trying. Why are so many pessimistic about this diet?

Are there to little success storys? Or because of any theory it doesn't make sense? Would like to understand, maybe someone can help me.
And lastly, what are the experiences with Ashwagandha, had to drop it because of the diet, but had a good gut feeling with it.
Best regards!

@Lio98 Sorry to hear about your PAS issues. No success stories because this is still not solved, I am in the low vitamin A self experimentation group. I am now at 1.5yrs on the diet and it is slowly healing all my symptoms, but I won't know if this is a success story until about ~3yrs. As the liver can hold ~2yrs worth of vitamin A from a normal diet, and we are not sure what high dose retinoic acid does to this hypothesis. There are other accutane users on Grant's forum posting their stories, some are now reaching the 1.5 year mark, this is a relatively new idea.

Hey Lio, you're not alone. Ed is extremely common for accutane guys. The corrupt FDA deliberately downplays this to help the drug company criminals sell more product, and thus, destroy more lives.

Ashwaganda is a yang herb with warming and drying effects. It's an excellent herb for guys who have a cold and moist constitution. Since our bodies are already too dried out from accutane, you want a yang herb with warming and moistening effects. That herb is cordyceps. Amazon has several brands of organic cordyceps that contain no fillers.

I'm afraid a diet of only rice meat beans and water will only do you more harm than good. Your body will end up starving for key nutrients that you're not getting. In order to recover, you need regular intake of foods from all four food groups.

Dairy should be whole and organic. Grains should be whole and non GMO. Produce should be organic whenever possible. Fruits should be raw. veggies should be canned or cooked, never raw. Produce should include sweet potatoes and organic carrot juice if your body craves them. Beef should be grass fed if possible. Omega 3 should be from whole seafood, and never from pills. Water should be natural spring water in number 2 plastic. It's crucial that instead of following a strict, restricted diet, that you simply learn to listen to what your body is asking for, and feed it what it wants.

As far as the anti vitamin A diet, it's preformed retinol you want to avoid, not beta Carotene. Beta Carotene foods are beneficial. With this diet, the only things you truly need to avoid are whole beef liver and cod liver oil. Whole organic milk should be consumed daily.

You should explore things such as nrf2, cytochrome p450, and glucuronidation. If you live in a home with soft water, great. If you live in a home with hard water, then there's 2 water softener shower head brands available at amazon. Soft water showering is extremely important for accutane people. Hard water exacerbates the skin damage that accutane has caused.

My current supplement protocol includes organic cordyceps, organic garlic, broccomax, and alpha gpc. Not saying it's going to be a cure but it's the best I know of currently.

Started using Molybdenum like someone suggested here. It's...it's doing something. I think it's supporting anti-oxidation and testosterone. I feel more alert, muscle tone improved and libido is up.

Also, I've been getting headaches from eating vitamin a in any form. For some reason, I don't get the headaches after I've been using Taurine for a few days. In fact, I had shrimp, veggies, watermelon yesterday and felt totally fine.

What are you experiences after 5 weeks of the diet? Do you experience already some changes?

I just finished about a one month of a zero vitamin A diet. I started to get some pimples and thought that was a good sign that I would be getting sebum back, but my skin actually seemed to get dryer and thinner. Now I've been getting some vitamin A from greens for the past few days and feel slightly better. Next time I go to grocery store I'll buy bunch of sweet potatoes and experiment with them.

@Roland1968Not yet, except often headache, hope it is detoxification symptoms and not just the disease. But it will be a marathon. What I forgot in my first message. After the end of accutane until summer 2019 I also applied a medical face cream every day that was nothing other than retinoids. So yes, I'm really very damaged. Have to see how long I can go on the diet like this, of course I don't want to get any deficiencyor to make the disease worse with that, very difficult.Discipline for the dietis definitelystrongly present.I will keep you up to date.

@under_towgoodto know, thanks, where can I find thevitamin A self experimentation group?

@Aaron76Thanks!!

Still doing foods from all four food groups, organic and non gmo when possible, but just updated the supplement program. Supplements are currently msm and gamma oryzanol in the morning. Gamma oryzanol is maybe the most interesting supplement I've ever seen. So far nothing negative to report. Will keep the board updated.

Actually watermelon is an ok source of beta Carotene. We shouldnt lump beta Carotene with vitamin A, as they are very different things. Watermelon is an excellent source of citrulline, which helps boost nitric oxide. The only true sources of vitamin A are whole beef liver and cod liver oil.

I was making the point that he says he reacts to all vitamin a food and then he states he ate watermelon and felt fine.

You made a good point. I suspect monsters gut microbiome is reacting to the foods he has trouble with. Msm is excellent for restoring the intestinal lining, as is gamma oryzanol. If parasites can't attach to the gut lining, they can't attack. Msm and gamma oryzanol creates a slippery surface that makes it hard for parasites to attach to. Will see how these two go for me over the coming weeks.

I agree. I was in the park and said fudge it and had some anyway. Was surprised to not get a headache. I had shrimp, veggies, cheese, hummus, all fine. This is huge. Ive been plagued by headaches for years from anything related to vit. A. The taurine/molybdenum combo is doing something. Took me 20 years but I may have finally found the missing link.

Btw, I had half a wheel of camembert cheese with dinner. No headache...

Ive used both before and never helped. Not like what molyb/taurine is doing.

What about breaking down biofilms in gut and mouth before putting any more supplements into the system!!?....thoughts?

Havent heard of anybody else take this path, its a lengthy process but well worth doing for better gut health - gets rid of all the crap, lingering viruses, bacteria, fungus etc etc

stuff that predates even accutane

This is all unproven junk science like candida overgrowth. Dont waste your time on this..
