I'm just wondering what information exactly did you take from that site? That has been one of my main problems Along with Almost no energy or feeling in my body....
I just continue to Eat healthy each day, almost no sugars if i can help it, low ammounts of salt/ bad fats....I'm taking spirulina each day and some days tumeric. Also I take a good multivitamin from Vitarol and another supplement called male drive that has a bunch of good things that seem to help the ED a bit. This is a picture of the label. I don't think it will be much longer before i try the cannabis oil probably a few days. I try to do as much research as i can. From what i have read it seems like it is really going to be the answer for a full recovery. The fact is that the Endocannabinoid system is involved in just about every process in the body and is the reason why cannabis has so many different medicinal uses. All these different degenerative diseases and health problems that are considered "uncureable" are somehow either cured or treated by cannabinoids.......From what i have learned it basically regulates your whole body into equilibrium and allows for the whole body to heal. I believe there are other ways to also accomplish the same thing, but this seems to be by far the most powerful and easiest way to do it. Things such as flooding the body with tons of nutrients from drinking tons of fresh vegetable/fruit juice or doing water fasting to detoxify and heal seem to also be of use for many conditions. I just feel as though our bodys have been so severely damaged our options are very limited. Anyhow i can't wait until i can get this going.... I mean even my nightvision has seemed to improve a bit since i used a lil bit. I truly believe it will heal the whole body.

unbelieveable. on http://www.propeciahelp.com/ now they are putting out all the reports on the "permanant" sexual side effects of finastride which are like the same as the accutane effects. If anything this is what is causing people to kill themself. whoever these responsible for this I would kill those pieces of shit if i could. Really just don't have words for this shit anymore.
Hello everyone,
Tomorrow I have an appointment with an endocrinologist because I believe most of my side effects could be caused by hyperparathyroidism.
If you look it up you see the symptoms of it include dry eyes, dry skin, brain fog, aching bones, depression, mood swings and high calcium, all which I have.
My question is should I mention accutane? Do you guys think this will help or not?
I feel like most doctors dont take us seriously when we mention it.
There is a strong connection between vitamin D and thyroids. Read up on it and mention it to the doc as there also seem to be a connection between accutane and vit D.
But doctors hate to be told things they dont know. They feel so threatened or something:S
For the ED : www.cure-erectile-dysfunction.org Serious improvement. Must try.
I'm just wondering what information exactly did you take from that site? That has been one of my main problems Along with Almost no energy or feeling in my body....
I read about sex exhaust, got a message from the doc ( he works free for this site, so dont expect fast responses), got a 3 months supply of almost all supplements. And I deffinetly see improvement. But Im not done with the course, so I cant state the end result just yet, but Im glad I did it either way.
Sup guys. Still cured.
Gotta be real careful about eating stuff with wheat in it. Surprising how it's in most things that are prepackaged or prepared by someone else.
I cut out veggies and just went back to my basic diet of rice, scallops, lean meat, shrimp, and now yoghurt too. It gives me the best results, so why not? While I CAN eat more things, my body seems to slow down a bit.
Also, binaural beats is great for focus while working.
And I'm also controlling portion sizes and only eating when the sun is up. That keeps me working hard and sleeping at the right time.
Well guess that's about it. At some point I'll try Dr. Snow and see if his wizardry can improve me further - by allowing me to eat all kinds of things, and not suffer any performance loss.
Reading through my previous blood tests, and reading up on the different tests i see that my vitamin B12 is deficiant. And that it is has increased as i have been feeling better.
My level was at 299 when i had a test when i was feeling pretty lousy. A while after it was 350 feeling alot better, but stil really bad. Some countries operate with the wrong numbers for the lack of this vitamin. Norways uses from 200-900 or something to be the normal range. (dont have the teste before me, just remembering this).
I see other coutries have the border for deficiancy at 500. I really hope this could be another reason why i feel like shit and have various nevrological symptoms.
I read somewhere that accutane raises homocysteine. I also read homocysteine is again lowered by b12, maybe using up my b12??. Just some thoughts in my head i wanted to share. B12 is also needed to make more red bloodcells. My ferritin is ok i think, so maybe the reason why me bloodlevels are lower than before accutane could be that i now am deficiant in b12 and not that i am still bleeding alittlebitt from the ulcer. My hb has increased alittle as the b12 has increased.
Still waiting for answers of my last bloodtest.
I see scallops have the highest count of vitamin b12 among foods.
And that is in the best form as methylcobalamin and not cyanocobalamin as the cheap pills are. Im sceptical about eating cyanide.
Oh, and if you supplement with vitamin D, make sure you also take magnezium or you will not be able to utilize it.
What are your peoples B12 levels? As i now know for a fact that i am deficiant in this i will aim at also upping this value to above 500.
If your doctor says your values are fine, dubble check them.
Not som much work at work during sommertime so i am researching bigtime:)
My daily musthaves will then be: D3, magnesium, 0,5-1L kefir, 3kiwis and 1 redbeet juice, + something to upp my b12 count drastically. Will ask for sublingual methylcobalamin the next time i visit my doctor. And hope that he admits that norwegian deficiancy levels are too low and that i can try it. I cannot buy it without prescription in norway!. My regimen makes me feel better, but far from cured. Hoping b12 addition will help.
Once i am better i am going to try and help as many people as i can...Stay strong guys i think i've got the solutions in sight....
The mother of a girl i know, she had MS. Cannabis greatly helped here BUT only when she was using it. It seems like it works just like a drug from a pharmaceutical company, only working when you keep using it. She felt worse when quitting, so had to keep it up, which is a bad circle because it will make you more slugish, Cost alot of money and take your attention away from seeking a cure or healthy lifestyle but only seeking the next dose.

ok but there are many factors. Quality, type, and how it's being used. Let me ask how was it being used? I bet it was being smoked, no?
I mean seriously the fact that us accutane sufferers struggle every day, many of us practically on the verge on suicide from these horrible effects anything that can at least improve the quality of life to a point where its worth living is worth it in my eyes. They consider these effects permanent and i still have yet to see one confirmed solution, if there is any. I hope this is going to be the answer. It's really funny how people get all funny about a natural plant that is a medicine, yet when talking about a freaking horrible pharmaceutical compound that destroys the whole body, well thats fine and dandy, right?......
Hey guys I've been reading this thread for a while. I wanted to note something about Accutane, or a trend I keep noticing. I notice you guys keep saying that Accutane lowers vitamin D, caused you fatigue, memory problems and other things. This almost seems related to something called parathyroid disease, which I had. One guy in this thread or another even said his calcium levels were high. It can be a genetic disease OR can be caused by certain medications, and my mother had it too. It is where a tumor grows on your parathyroid gland OR enlargement of the gland occurs as it is only about the size of a grain of rice. This is a permanent change and is ONLY cured by surgery, which I had. You have about four of them on each side of the thyroid. They are VERY important glands and you cannot live without them. They are NOT related to the thyroid at all. They control the calcium levels in your blood and help release calcium from your bones to put in your bloodstream to control your nervous system.
Let me explain why your complaints seem so similar to the disease by listing the symptoms. These were symptoms I had as well:
-Extreme fatigue
-headaches
-Brain fog
-Dental problems ( in my case my teeth were chipping off and I got cavities even though I don't eat sugar or drink soda. The disease steals too much calcium from your bones at a rapid rate )
-Memory loss/difficulty concentrating
-osteopenia/osteoperosis ( slow process )
-Low vitamin D ( this occurs in parathyroid disease due to your blood calcium levels rising, and vitamin D being driven down in an attempt to protect you from further harm. Without vitamin D, you cannot absorb calcium in the intestine. )
-abdominal pain
-weakness
-Muscle wasting
-hair loss/thinning
-High blood calcium levels/high parathyroid hormone levels/ or only one or the other. Usually they are checked side by side.
-Frequent urination
-Kidney damage/impairment/failure
-Kidney stones
You may or may not get all the symptoms. It is a very SLOW disease and takes time to work it's damage but can be incredibly devastating and make you tired and depressed as hell while it steals calcium from your bones and puts it in your blood by mistake because the glands are damaged. YES it is caused by certain medications, namely lithium and radiation also causes this. Whether Accutane does, I couldn't say...but I bet you a million dollars it does because of all your similar posts.
I wasn't going to open my mouth about it but I keep seeing you guys really being this upset, so yeah I thought i'd put my two cents in there about this relatively unknown disease ( which is actually in reality a remarkably common endocrine disorder and I met a few people around my town who had it when I was searching for answers. ) Surgery IS a cure, but it's a complicated process to get diagnosed. It is definitely a disease that drains your quality of life day by day.
Please look into researching it, or ask me anything you want because I know every thing there is to know about it and I researched it for two years before my diagnosis was made.

My endocrinologist appointment went well. I told him I took accutane and he said that it causes a lot of problems. That made me feel good, an made me trust him.
What I'm getting tested:
Parathyroid hormone
Calcium
Phosphorus
Vitamin D
And two
Other things I can't remember
He said he's not sure if it's hyperparathyroidism or something else but he was very kind and listened.
I will find out my results next Friday.

I would like to know your results to help you through the diagnostic process. I've been through it for years, diagnosed my mother and myself and know the lab work very well. I also help out on the Facebook support board for parathyroid disease sufferers.
Bloodtest wise, how do they check for parathyroid dysfunction?
Is it just through regular Thyroid checks?
As in the one that checks for Hypothyroidism?
I still don't know what the fuck to do about my thyroid issues.
T4 won't help whilst I have adrenal issues.
Trying to cut out stress is darn impossible.
Just took me an hour to get home because of a traffic accident.
Normally hope within 15 minutes.
Not what you need after work, is it?

Keep us updated Humanstate! Also, don't forget to get copies or at least ask what your numbers were.
Oligirl - Please remind me how old you are now and how long you've had the side effects?
Still on insulin, I presume?
To be specific:
1. I can eat a broader variety of foods and pills without severe IBS reaction, but still with fatigue
2. I can stick to my narrow diet and not have crippling fatigue, but be reliably healthy, without tiny errors in protocol taking me down for long periods of time.
So no, not really cured 100%. The fatigue was still a problem on the broader diet. It wasn't reliable, so I ditched it.
I now finally had enough energy to update my journal and reviews, so I actually know what's happened objectively, rather than relying on memory.

I need to emphasis to you emphatically that parathyroid glands have NOTHING to do with the thyroid gland, so no, thyroid tests will not be with it. Parathyroids are NOT part of the thyroid. They merely rest behind it. They have no relation to the thyroid gland at all. Parathyroids control blood calcium levels--which is critical to our nervous system, fatigue levels, general well being etc. When our blood calcium or para hormone is too high, we feel like shit. Also, your D can be low because your body is protecting it from higher calcium. A good site for this: www.parathyroid.com explains all that stuff. It's one of the few sites with a surgeon there who does these parathyroid operations regularly and he knows the in's and outs.
You will need to specifically ask for a calcium blood test alongside a parathyroid hormone ( or PTH ) test and vitamin D test to see where you're at. Also there's fun stipulations about it. Your calcium may be high, but your PTH may be low or visa versa. This STILL means you have the disease...OR you may have a mild elevation in calcium. Your vitamin D will be low and sometimes doctors claim your parathyroid hormone or calcium will be raised because of this. This is false. This STILL means you have the disease and I can't emphasize it enough. I had high blood calcium and low PTH and low D. Doctors insisted I didn't have it--oh how they were wrong. YOUR PTH DOES NOT HAVE TO BE HIGH AND YOUR VITAMIN D WILL LIKELY BE LOW. Both my mother and me had mildly elevated calcium ( around 10.4 ) and normal PTH, no higher than 35. We both needed surgery for our parathyroid tumors. Sorry to all caps you, I just want to help because I went through the idiocy of doctors and I want to spare you guys.

Hello Overdose.

Hello Overdose.
Thyroid and pineal gland problems are associated with abnormal circadian rhythms, depression, brain fog, lack of energy, lack of appetite, insomnia, apathy, bi-polar, etc. Fluoride accumulates and calcifies in your endocrine glands causing a myriad of health and wellness problems. Dangerous levels of fluoride are illegally added to many medications (that may include accutane), tap water, dry and bottled tea, salt, toothpaste, soft-drinks, and anything that includes tap water as an ingredient.
In order to reduce your intake of fluoride and reverse the damage you must take iodine and avoid ingesting sources of fluoride as much as possible. As for the other supplements, that is to avoid and repair the damage from the ONGOING Fukashima disaster. The catastrophe is three times the magnitude of Chernobyl, but the media won't touch the subject and acknowledge that ALL sea products and many sources of water (including rain-water) contain dangerous levels of Japanese radiation particulates.
Well... It's bloody pouring it down here right now, so I'll make sure I don't let it touch me.
I already quit taking fluoride toothpaste though.
I use a water filter.
I don't think fluoride is really the problem here
Actually, I am 100% sure fluoride is the problem, because you've accumulated a LIFETIME of fluoride in your endocrines glands and it never goes away unless you supplement iodine. Take several drops of Lugol's iodine solution 2% (Found on Amazon) and you'll notice changes within a week. For me it was less than three days. It will take about two years of daily supplementation to completely detox, but the changes you feel will be almost immediate.
As a side benefit, this also displaces the radiation that we are being exposed to on a daily basis. (Think potassium iodide pills)
Warning: Some people have reported getting an initial breakout, but I never really experienced that.

I took accutane for ten years. I stopped periodically for 1-month intervals to see if I still had acne. Every time the acne would return within two weeks. I've now been off accutane for more than four weeks, taking the supplements I listed above. So far, no acne. I've decided to cut off accutane forever, even if this regimen dosen't keep me clear. The other health benefits are so obvious and necessary in our modern world that I don't see any reason to stop.
I never thought there was anything wrong with me until I took iodine and noticed a night and day difference in my mood, strength, energy, dreams, etc. I never had these benefits when just stopping accutane. It was only after taking iodine and drinking distilled water exclusively that I began to notice some big, positive changes.
I would describe my health right now as perfect. I've never felt better, actually.
I appreciate you taking the time to answer.
Can I ask what made you read the forum?
Because I gather you didn't take Accutane and that your Hypoparathyroidism is due to genetics?
I was reading because I am researching Accutane, saw your posts, and wanted to say something but hesitated at first. Then I thought maybe I should chime in with my theory--you all sound so alike.
Now I'm not so sure I want to take it. The derm was giving it to me even though he KNOWS I just got out of parathyroid surgery and have osteopenia. I kind of wanna wait a few months to recover.
How exactly were you diagnosed?
For you, was it blood tests?
And then, I suppose they do some x-ray
I was diagnosed by going through hell. Doctors are very ignorant about it and think labs have to be a certain way, when in reality it's just not true. For example, both mom and I's calcium was only 10.4 and PTH normal. They consider that "mildly elevated." It's not, because with the disease your calcium fluctuates, and 10.4 is too high for a human being's blood calcium anyway. The young man I talked to had a 10.3...that's extremely suspicious for parathyroid disease. My mother ended up having two large peanut shell sized tumors ( she was misdiagnosed for decades ) and parathyroid glands are only supposed to be the size of a grain of rice. No wonder she felt screwed up. I lost a left gland due to hyperplasia ( extreme enlargement ) which still requires surgery. That's why you should read that site--because that guy is the world's leading expert on parathyroid disease and he operates on the highest number of patients...so he has the most data to present to those endocrinology conferences. However, I did not go to him because despite his good info, he's an ass lol and there's many other good surgeons out there besides him.
Edit: Wanted to add regarding x-rays, there are practically no scans that can find the tumors because they are behind the thick structure of the thyroid. There is one being invented by hasn't passed the FDA yet and will take a year. We are behind in parathyroid study. The best scan is the sestamibi scan; but it is very inaccurate, as is ultrasound. We both had negative scans as did countless other patients.
I'm temped to take a look at the site, but I'm conscious that I'm being drawn into this again.

Well as you probably know, Accutane affects a babies parathyroid gland formation. I'm looking at it in the iPledge packet right now. So is it not unreasonable to assume it can cause enlargement of a normal developed person's parathyroid gland? Plus, it causes low vitamin D, a side effect of parathyroid disease.
With respect, it really doesn't sound like you're cured.
Especially if you're choosing to be back on those bloody scallops
Keep us updated Humanstate! Also, don't forget to get copies or at least ask what your numbers were.
Oligirl - Please remind me how old you are now and how long you've had the side effects?
Still on insulin, I presume?
Indigo - I am 36 now, I believe it has been 5yrs now almost! It's been over 5 since I started Accutane. Yes Indigo I am a type 1 diabetic I don't produce any insulin at all. BASICALLY I DIE WITHOUT INSULIN IT IS BASICALLY JUVENILE DIABETES! Very diffrent from Type 2 which is insulin restistant! Accutane has left me in a metabolic madness with autoimmune thyroid, sjrogen's & type 1. Very healthy no issues ran 3 miles a day before accutane!
By the way taking synthyroid and then supplements for your adrenals will do the trick if your tsh is still out of wack! As for testing of Parathyroid calcium levels/ PTH hormone and scans for tumors I guess though scans may be hard if you still have your thyroid, but I have lost most of my right so who knows. However, I did shrink and develop osteopenia while on accutane and that is documented in medical records and i gained 1/2 inch back
I appreciate you taking the time to answer.
I can't tell you how many hours I spent reading about different diseases/ Accutane side-effects..
Certainly didn't make me feel any better.
I already know my thyroid and adrenals are screwed.
I'm pretty sure my Liver is, because my body doesn't tolerate alcohol.
Honestly, I'm not sure if there's a single part of my body that's not ... ahem, fucked.

Sorry, but you be a fool to take accutane with parathyroid issue and osteopenia! DON'T DO IT
