Feeling any better?

Do you know if the UK offers this?

I assume this is referring to me...

I am feeling only slightly better but since my deficiencies are so severe its going to take at least 6 months to feel a real difference. The iron supplements really help with energy. I'm still taking Oil of Oregano pills for my acne and Candida. Unfortunately the pills interfere with iron absorption so I have to be very careful of how/ when I eat them.

I'm not sure if the UK offers this but I assume a good blood lab will offer these tests at their own rates. You should call pharmacies and do some research. I was studying in UCL for 2 years and it seems to me that the medical system in the UK is much better than what we have here.

In the US the test is covered by insurance and costs about $175. Without insurance I paid $370 and it was very worth it. It took the guess work out of my regime. My supplements cost a packet too... $350 per month... But its a custom compound that has 40 different vitamins in it and I have to take 24 pills a day to reach the required benchmark. I am going through my savings really fast but I think its worth the money since I'm 27 and not fixing deficiencies can lead to chronic problems.

FYI, my mum was diagnosed with celiac disease about 10 yrs ago when she was in her mid 40s. I'm 27 and my tests show a vitamin K deficiency which can be caused by celaic disease. This means that in my 40s I will probably be diagnosed with celiac disease and have the same health issues as her but till now no tests that a regular doctor gave me have been able to show any celiac/ gluten problem. Well this just goes to show you cannot trust mainstream doctors and have to take the responsibility for your own health.

I read a lot about these deficiencies here... For me, that is again the consequence. Your body not being able to consume nutritiens or better say, always compete for them.

I recall someone talking about thyroid gland and iodine. I have some really amazing natural Eastern-European remedies you should all try.

Find a 2/3kg jar. First, find where you can get home-made http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rakia alcohol (stronger the better). Raw (home-made) honey also. Now (early june) is the right time to get young, still green walnuts. You need them to fill 2/3rds of the jar. Cut them in 1/4s first. Sip 200-300g of honey over them, seal the jar and let it soak on the Sun. *attention, you must use clear (not coloured) jar. After 7 days sip the rakija, put 10g of cloves and artemisia absynthum herb. You can start taking this amazing elixir when still green but should be drank when dark brown. Full with IODINE and what not!!!!

And here another, my favourite one. Half-full jar with honey (raw), fill with it organic apple-cider vinegar. Then add 2tbs of cinnamon and at the end fresh lemon juice (~2 lemons). Stir it well and then use it as syrup (1tbs) with fresh water.

Every mineral or vitamin is there!!! You do not need pharmaceutical drugs and supplement. ''350$ per month''? Common, seriously? You can live like a king down here with that money... Be smart and rely on nature! Industry is what did you harm in a first place!!!

Now, be careful, remedies above are well-guided alchemist information from the East, use it well. [Edited image out]

Cheers!!!

Yes, I agree that you don't have to supplement with store bought vitamins... and I am not intending to supplement like that indefinitely. Its something I chose to do because I do not have the time to be sitting around at home doing more research nor the patience. I just really want to get better ASAP.

Spending $350 is really not a surprise. I get my vitamins from wholefoods and even if I just get an iron supplement its costs me $44/ month to get the kind that actually improves my energy level and does not make me sick. The compound had around 40 supplements so it is what it is.

I would urge people to look into the remedy you've suggested... I for one cannot have honey because it has a very high sugar content, cannot have too many nuts while lemon juice and ACV ( are great natural remedies) but give me very low blood pressure. So its a real pain to figure out how to do this another way.

I am getting wary of trying 100 different things that I read on the net. Its too confusing and one ends up not following any one thing religiously. FYI, I have been on an all vegan diet for 4 months, fruits &salad diet for 4 months, tried raw food diet, been to a holistic nature cure center that incorporates yoga and diet etc.. Its been 2 years and my acne and other problems have only gotten worse. The only thing that actually helped is the Oil of Oregano to be honest.

I also want to add that just assuming and taking things like iodine is not a good idea for everyone . Many of us now have underlying thyroid issues and the advise on the internet is to take iodine... That's not true... My mother has borderline hypothyroidism and the doctors told her to avoid iodine.

You have to figure out your exact thyroid problem and what stage you are in... That's why I keep insisting you people have a proper test at least. You can figure out how you want to take your vitamins or address your issues after that.

Well, I agree that there is too many information over the internet. When you begin your research you tend to accept anything but after some experience and gathered knowledge you should be able to understand things much better. Patience is a key to wisdom.

I have done also all-vegan diet (honestly I would took a kefir or two once on a while rolleyes.gif ) for a year!!! Mistake! But why? Because you need vitamin A to fight your parasites, and body hardly excretes vitA from plant sources. Then, I went on a plain corn bred (I would take hard corn flour, not the refined one, put some fresh water and olive oil and then baked it until it became hard as cracker) with grounded flaxseeds sometimes. That was the best diet for my acne problem! *corn is the most potent vitamin A source, and the more heat treated it is, the more vitamin A is being produced. But I wasn't being able to continue it because I was skinny as Sub-Saharan dude and I wanted to raise my weight. But I was feeling great and had energy also!!! Used to run a lot back then. Real Ethiopian dude I was, seriously...

Tried Oregano oil also, but was too strong for me... Tried Clove oil, nothing... Tried Cumin oil, nothing... Coconut oil, nothing... Almond oil, nothing... Conclusion, too much oil overwhelms your already compromised liver.

I would urge people to look into the remedy you've suggested... I for one cannot have honey because it has a very high sugar content, cannot have too many nuts while lemon juice and ACV ( are great natural remedies) but give me very low blood pressure. So its a real pain to figure out how to do this another way.

When this first elixir is made, you squeeze out the juice, use it like a syrup. nuts remain out. If you use 200g of honey It will not be sweet at all, I guarantee you that! For the second one, it does lower your blood-pressure, but you could take it before bed time and then sleep as baby ;)...

A positive story related to fasting...

Worth a read, though I'm sure some of you may have come across it before on your internet travels.

Also my opinion, most vitamins don't work. The only thing that has worked for me as a short term solution was massively overdosing on vitamin Bs, it helps your skin and your energy, but it is not a cure at all.

Fuck it, going to try a fast for 10 days starting tomorrow.

I only weight 10 stone (or less) which is 140 pounds, so 10 days is probably the maximum.

I just want to see if it gives me any noticable changes.

I also will possibly have a job next week, so here's my last shot until I'm busy/active again.

I'll get as much rest during this time as possible.

There's a feint voice at the back of my head telling me not to do this. It'll be too hard.

But I want to prove to myself that I'm strong and I know that this is worth investigating.

I just need to remind myself what's at stake.

May drink green tea during the fast, after making sure it doesn't interfere.

Water will get very boring!

I also read you have to ease yourself back into eating after a fast, so I will eat veggies and fruit for a few days or so after.

Wish me luck.

Hopefully I don't wake up super hungry tomorrow.

I'm determined to do this.

Stef, don't do a fast when you are already underweight, build some mass and substance first and than go on a juice fast or something. You are not supposed to starve yourself that is not going to help, try to gain 10-20 pounds and then go on a fast.

I recently got curtains set up to block morning light streaming into my bedroom. Blindfold usually comes off during the night, so this lets me sleep in. Really beneficial. Now I can start going out to bars at night, and don't have to worry about racing home like Cinderella. Plus I don't get sick if I fail to get to bed on time. Woot.

Really looking forward to having a real life social life again.

I find it amazing that you're not willing to try my diet for 3 days, yet you're willing to do a water fast for a (presumably) longer period of time.

He said as he polished off his 3rd (4th?) bowl of moist, piping hot sticky rice, festooned with tender shrimp and subtle scallops, and nicely balanced by the tender steamed chicken - absolutely unable to eat anymore - and a few gulps of water away from overfullness!

Well I hope at least the water's tasty down there.

Well,

I managed until about 16:00

Half a day..

So difficult.

No way I could do that within the confines of my home, with people bitching at me that I'm crazy.

Fuck fasting.

Going right into a 10 day fast is a little out there. Muscle wasting won't really occur in a 24 hour fast, which is a challenge in itself for most people. Try intermittent fasting at first. Also, if you're going for the whole autophagy/body clean up effect, you only need to restrict protein. The science is pretty interesting in regards to body repairs, upregulation of BDNF, improved insulin sensitivity, and things like that. It can be good to go hungry sometimes!

Well done doing a video.

The Google + account is never really used, for some reason you just have to do it.

Same thing happened to me and Lukez - Our Bilirubin count was high meaning Gilbert's Syndrome. Doctor's say this isn't a problem. Then why is it called a syndrome, right? But, it shows excess bile in the blood, meaning a bile/liver issue. Anyway, it's gone down for us (as well as possibly a lot of people who've taken this) but I still think it's a good indicator that our liver's WERE effected, ever if our chloresterol is in range. No idea of the solution though.

You mention Sjogren's Syndrome.

Have you been diagnosed with this?

I don't trust that my doctor actually did this test... I wish I'd of got the paperwork at the time.

I asked for an autoimmune test a couple of years ago and he was really reluctant to do it.

on the NHS, in the UK, it's one of the tests that costs them money.

He said he would though, and I have my blood.

Also, when going to the opthamology wing at my Hospital, back when I was trying to treat my dry eyes (to no avail... Just give out fucking eye drops with chemicals in), they did a schrimer's test, which is horrible to do.

They basically stick these thin strips of plastic under your eyelid to measure your tears.

It hurt, and of course made my eyes water like crazy.

That's not the normal situation for eyes to be in, so I think it's a shit way to test it.

Anyway, this apparantly shows you don't have Sjogren's.

Doesn't really matter..

I have Dry mouth/dry eyes.. Do I need a diagnosis, really?

Apparantly it can take years to get diagnosed with Autoimmune disorders.

Film my interview today by the way.

Then, that's me done as far as the documentary goes

Anyone ever tried supplementing Keratin? There aren't many versions online. GNC sells a top notch brand of it called keratin enhance by resvitale. I am going to do it once my next work check clears. I read reviews (by non taners I assume) saying it not only helped their hair skin and nails but also relieved their joint pain. Accutane treats hyperkeratosis.

Keep in mind for those doing fat cleanses, you not only want to sweat it out but also push the toxins out with other fats such as non soy based lecithin as the fat cleansing article I posted awhile back suggests. I want to fat cleanse for awhile and then fast for awhile. I feel like low doses of niacin help me, I mean I feel better after it flushes me and I do the sauna. Way more energy sometimes. It opens up the capillaries so the body can remove toxins better and is also involved in dna repair so it may be something cheap to try. Yes, I know it can be toxic to the liver but that is when people take around 2 grams of the time released version, I'm talking about taking between 200 and 500 mcg - regular version. The flush is sucky but you'll feel better after, don't get the non-flush versions, not effective.

Also, I did something the other day that made me feel like the happiest guy ever for a good 12 hours. In the morning on a fairly empty stomach i took 100mgs of 5htp and about an hour later I drank less than 1 cup of coffee and zing! Not a solution of course but it was fun.

Cheers

Oh also, I recommend that we all do as I have done and put your brief history w tane and it's sides in the about me section of our profiles. It will make things so much easier for compiling purposes and for finding those who have similar sides as one another.

The only side effect I was concerned about is erectile difficulties or low libido or shrinkage. None of which is cool. My dermatologist said that doesn't happen. Fortunately for me, it never happened but, I wish you luck man.

Your Dry mouth and dry eyes are from having Subclinical Hypothyroid. If I remember correctly you stated that your tsh was high, but normal t3 & t4. In which you can still have symptoms if left untreated.

I had the schimmer test and can tell you it is painful and I didn't shed one tear or get watery eyes. In fact my tear production was zero in my left and less then 1 in the right.

However, lab work and schimmer test is not always 100% diagnosis for Sjrogren's, but a biopsy of the glands in the mouth will tell ya!

Oh, I thought I would post this link I am floored that they would even consider a study to use this poison in Alzheimer's. http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01560585

You guys should check out manganese. Try manganese picolinate from thorne research. It helps the liver, your joints and cartilag, enzyme function etc. Mine was very low that is why I started taking it. My current theory is that one of the many problems accutane causes is that, maybe due less bile production, we have gotten deficiencies in many vital trace minerals, which then again amplify the aquired deficiencies and IMPORTANT imbalances in the long run.

zinc has helped me, magnesium, potassium and manganese.

on the other hand I have had too much copper.

Also want to repost a link that has been posted earlier by Mayneard, because it supports my thesis for a high fat diet:

There's so much contradictory information online and in books about whether fat is good or bad, whether carbs are good or bad.

So hard to know what is good for you, and what's bad.

I've taken countless supplements.

Had some new ones come today.

Nothing has ever worked.

Honestly, I think I've ever been in a more difficult situation.

I have no job. No money. I'm on my own. My ex-girlfriend is giving me a hard time and telling people things about me which aren't true (like I used to physically hurt her). It's a struggle, this life. The dreams I had as a kid have long gone. I just want to know the answers:

How on earth will I ever get through this?

Why are my gums receding, and why do new problems come out of nowhere?

Is it the chronic stress?

Is my immune system low because of Accutane - is it really chemotherapy - or is it low because of stress?

Where do I begin?

Is there any point in trying anymore?

I've never felt so depressed, and it doesn't help when people deliberately try to make things worse by telling everyone you're a terrible person.

It's hard to take.

She's probably reading this.

I just hope she's happy to be killing me faster.

We obviously broke up last week.

Now, she's saying she's afraid of me.

It's all lies and I don't fucking need it.

I've tried zinc, magnesium. Nothing works.

Is there any point in trying this manganese?

Are you saying it's helping?

I could just end my life now.

I don't know why I'm still here.

You know what...

Scatch that last comment.

If my ex-girlfriend wants to be a horrible person and a total bitch, she can be.

I know I didn't physically hurt her. I might have occasionally given her a LIGHT slap on the head when she kept asking me the same question 20 times a day, but that's who I am. I don't hurt people. I prod people, annoy people, wind people up sometimes, sure. But I know what's good and what's bad, and I have morals.

I know I didn't intentionally emotionally hurt her.

She's just really fucked up right now and isn't seeing straight.

If that's what she wants to tell people, and believe, that's her choice.

I can't change it. Maybe I wish I could...

What I can change is my choice.

I may have thought we could have, maybe ever should have, been friends after spending two years together but she really took some offence to the YouTube video.

Cannot handle the truth that she pushes people away, and has a problem that SHE created.

Not sure why she took things so badly, because unlike her I wasn't telling anybody anything that isn't true.

But hey, I'm off topic.

This isn't about crazy ex-girlfriends who threaten to get the police over for making a YouTube video online.

It's about Accutane.

I'm starting to believe in the law of attraction.

Obviously, I'm not in the best of places right now.

I seem to attract bad things.

My crazy ex, the one before her was a stalker... (Not all girls are crazy, right?)

Life isn't going great for Mr Lay.

I'm still not sure where on earth to begin, but I need to realise I can't control the world around me.

I can only change what I'm doing, and how I react to things that are happening around me.

I'm still determined.

Determined to fight on, because I believe I deserve something better than this.

I'm a good person and I deserve to be happy. I'm not depressed. I just have depression. Anyone in my position would, unless they're Superman.

I'm not going to give anyone the pleasure of upsetting me.

It says far more about someone else if they choose to think of every single example of where I've not been a good person and shove that in my face.

Yeah, for sure I told my ex to fuck off when we were going out.

She was suffocating me when I just needed to be by myself. I hardly have the patience of a monk, what with all this going on.

She'll continue to blame me for her current depression and for wasting the last two years of her life.

She can make out I was a horrible, terrible boyfriend.

But she never once left me.

I probably broke up with her 10 times.

Why?

Because she kept pushing me away.

(Off I go again... sorry)

Fuck everyone and everything that tries to make things difficult for you.

Ignore the shit, and pay attention to what is good.

Even if it's one thing.

Pay attention to that one thing.

That could go down as a historical quote... In my eyes anyway.

It appears we have similar theories all together. I agree about us possibly needing a higher amount of trace minerals because our absorption is down for some reason. I was going to post about manganese and selenium/selenoproteins but I don't think I did.

For those working with sleep issues I had super restful sleep last night with great dreams... took a hot shower before bed and cooled the room w A/C and took my magnesium/coconut oil combo before bed. Timothy Ferriss' book the 4 Hr body recommends the temperature adjustments I have made- hot then cold. I bought his book to see if there were any tips about general health, he tested tons of experiments on himself before putting them in the book. Might add 1mg sublingual melatonin next time to see if it helps or hinders... It usually helps when I take it alone. Strong antioxidant as well.

Oddly, I keep waking up at 4:30 lately.

Perhaps not odd at all, as my mind has been overactive.

Not that I'm single, I'll start going to bed earlier, and create some routine, like reading from 9:30-10:00

Easier said than done though..

Always get sidetracked.

I was just watching a video of Ryan Dunn.. an MTV Tribute from last year.

Legend.
