I think I have read more than once that Magnesiumsulfate helps your body produce DMSA which is a chelating agent used for mercury poisoning for example, but as you can't supplement Epsom salts on a regular basis...

I just started a poll over at the holistic forum to find out how many people over there are suffering from accutane side effects and have used the drug:

Yesterday was uber awesome, and then I did some social stuff at night, so I got to bed at 1-2, up at 10ish, earplugs and eyemask, working immediately in the morning. Probably won't be quite as uber today, but I'm not sick at all either. Saweet.

To brighten you guys up. About 4 years back, my mum said jokingly "Son, you are getting old, your first grey hair is starting to pop up!". That was after she found one gray hair on my head. Now, it is 4 years later, I do not have a single gray hair, not even one.

still nobody has answered my question regarding immunoglobulin A (IgA). I have only gotten one response via text message of another guy who posted here and has a IgA deficiency as well. IgA is an antibody playing a critical role in mucosal immunity.

Anybody else here who has an IgA deficiency? Take a look at the results from your blood work and stool samples, usually they both include IgA measurements!

I was looking over my hair analysis results again.

You may remember I had just one deficiency and this was magnesium.

I used to think you could buy supplements and then they'd either work or not.

However, it seems you have to be specific a lot of the time.

I was using Magnesium citrate, and this seems to be ineffective, and even though many people have reviewed it with 5 stars on iHerb (which is where I bought it from) it is apparantly not absorbed well in many people.

Look up magesiumsulfate in wikipedia, it is used for hypmagnesemia, that is, heavy magnesium deficiency. You also take it when liver flushing and as I had already written earlier in this thread. I think this stuff is one reason why flushing helped me and calmed my nerves. But longterm magnesiumsulfate is hard on the kidney so be careful.

I tried magnesium oil, did not convince me, but try it. Magesium has a key role in enzyme function it is much more critical to your overall health than calcium. Furthermore you have to consider the time of day you take this stuff to ensure good absorption....

Hi.

I didn't have IgA on my blood test, so can't comment on that.

I've ordered Magnesium Oil... What do you mean it didn't convince you? It didn't work?

Of course, I'm not expecting Magnesium to fix everything for me, but one nutrient deficiency can lead to a lot of problems.

Apparantly it can help anxiety too, though I'm not sure to what extent.

Do you mean your hair de-grayed?

I wish that offered hope, but I noticed my first grey/white when I was 19.

2-3 years later, there are more :/

Hi.

Back from the doctors.

Fuckin' had me sitting about waiting for half and hour as usual.

Anyway...

My Thyroid is slightly worse. It was (meaning TSH) at 3.72 (between 0.35 and 3.5) and is now 4.2

He offered me Thyroxine and I said I don't want it at the moment.

It's a bit disheartening to know it's getting worse, but I'll carry on going to bed at 10pm and see how I get on.

I know it's going to have side effects and you have to take it forever, or else things will get worse.

I'm pretty sure it stops your thyroid making it's own hormones once you've taken it for a while.

My neutrophil (part of blood count) is low too, but he said not to worry.

I'm still sure it must mean something. It should be between 2 and 7.5.

On my last test three months ago, it was 2.10, so right on the edge.

Now it's 1.75.

Might look into this now.

I can see that in 2009 it was 1.83 and 2010 it was 1.62, so it's been low before.

Apart from that, everything else is pretty much normal.

My cortisol is 672, though the print out doesn't say what the range is.

I don't have addison's disease but, of course, I already know I have adrenal fatigue because of the saliva test.

It'd be cool if y'all could get a full blood test to see if anything matches what I'm saying.

Stef

[Edited link out]

Here's what I've found about neutrophils.

Turns out they indicate white blood cells.

1.75 would equal 17,500.

15,000 is considered abnormally low according to the above information.

I find the mention of Lupus interesting.

Apparantly this can be difficult to diagnose.

It would seem we're likely to have an auto-immune problem.

My thyroid is likely down to hashimoto's, as that's the most common cause.

Oli Girl - if you're still reading - How were you diagnosed with Lupus?

Something else I found interesting was Lupus Treatment (corticosteroids) can cause diabetes.

Oli girl - what meds are you taking in regards to Lupus and/or any other illness?

Would be curious to find out if there's a link between the your Lupus and the onset of your Diabetes.

this is the conclusion several of my doctors and I have come to as well: auto immune disorder

I am a big believer in magnesium, but I did not feel the effect from magesium oil, maybe because my magnesium intake was already sufficient, that is why it did not convince me. I did not like applying it to my skin either.

Even if I can get the results now, it's probably best to wait for this report that goes with it, so I know everything in one go. I just don't think the report has been finisihed yet. I don't know why, but I've lost my enthusiasm for knowing the results. I don't know why... but anyway I'll post them when I have them.

I guess we can't do anything to help autoimmune disorders?

Let's just say 'fuck it'.

We've got no way of fixing this. Let's eat some chocolate. I don't know if there's any point in eating healthy now.

They may help me live longer, but the way I see it now - The sooner this is over, the better.

Hey, I had low neutrophils for years too. Eventually it corrected but it took over ten years. That's an odd one, I wonder what's up with that.

If you end up taking thyroid pills, take T3 either with thyroxine, or T3 only. Check recent posts at the AllThingsMale forum.

You should try armour ( I believe that what is) Natural thyroid hormone....I not suprised your neutophils are low if your thyroid is out of wack. As for adrenal fatigue low thyroid also causes this and until you fix that you will suffer from it, even once fixed you may have issues till corrected. As for cortisol lab levels the range is typically 135-635 reference range, however depending what time the lab was taken would depend since that is a factor.

The longer you wait on your thyroid the harder it will be to correct the issues caused by it and may become permanent!

I tested postive 2 or 4 months after postive for ANA, speckled & postive DS antibody strand which is indicitive of Lupus, however every other test assoicated w/ lupus came back normal. So I wasn't offically dx, Doctors then blew me off as crazy, tested 3 times and it came back the same every time. however, I believe Lamarr was offically dx. In 2009 I was offically dx w/ sjorgrens which has very similar issues as lupus sometimes. I was offically dx with Graves right after accutane use.

As for steroid use, I had steroids in 2008 very low and short period like 2 wks no more then 10mg, to bring down the acute inflamation and then early in the 2011 yr again very low dose no more then 15mg for 5 days, then 10mg for 5 days and 5mg for 5 days, in which my sugar levels were normal and stayed normal after the steroid use in both instances. This amt won't even effect your adrenals. So really I didn't have a lot of steroids. Also many times steroid induced diabetes corrects itself or if given insulin right away reinstills the beta cells to function( not in everyone though) Usually takes year or massive amts of steroids, I read alot of lupus pts who have been on steroids for yrs before they develop diabetes, trust me I researched to make sure it wasn't the short small course I was on, in fact one accutane suffer was on steroids for a yr for lung issues and never got diabetes. Most I have read have more type 2 diabetes symptoms and not type 1 which I did test postive for antibodies to type 1 diabetes.

Also looking back at my records in 2008 right after Accutane my sugar levels were 129 A1c of 6 however, that could of been from thyroid as depending if your high or low thyroid it can effect sugar levels and once thyroid is corrected levels go down, or it could of been Accutane. After that one lab they have been in the 80's ever since, Oct of 2011 normal Jan levels 600.

I believe that Accutane cause body wide inflamation in some, some suffers test postive for auto immunes while other have auto immune like illness, but nothing shows in thier lab or tests. If you think about it right say you develop thyroid issues from Accutane, well that in itself has a host of complications it can cause, it controls your pitutary gland, which is your master gland and controls all your hormones etc... If you develop 1 autoimmune your likely (not always) to develop more, they say they run in 3's.

Get your thyroid under control don't wait or mess around Indigo! Some of us Accutane suffers have found that you have no choice sometimes, but to take another drug....

I will go into a coma with out thyrid meds, and well I will die w/out insulin as I no longer produce any. I forgot to mention that also I have been on a anti malaria plaquenil which most lupus/sjorgrens/Ra/Rosacea

Hope all is well everyone!

Hey...

I spent all afternoon yesterday looking up thyroxine and other things.

What I don't get is... My T4 Level is fine. My TSH is out of balance.

Many people say this way of checking for Thyroid function is incorrect anyway (although it does mean I have hypothyroidism).

Thyroxine is T4 though, so I don't know what good that'd do?

Unfortunately they don't do Armour over here. The NHS is fucking absymal for the most part.

I'd much rather be American and pay less tax. I don't want anything to do with the medical industry, so why do I have to pay taxes for healthcare?

Might try this though: [Edited link out}

I really don't know what to do.

Information on the internet seems limited.

I don't know if my adrenals and thyroid can get better when I feel this stressed every day.

I could kick a duck up the ass right now.

My frickin' video camera isn't working too, so goodbye YouTube videos.

I have to ask you people, did you check up your intestines? How do they function? Are they in order or you have IBS? IF you do, then know that IBS can indirectly cause basically every health problem there is. Before I took the drug I had most of my symptoms. Difference, they got worse. I know I was sick before. I am now trying to repair my intestinal wall, because I think its the reason everything else is out of whack. The other organs are trying to compensate for its lack of function. Thats why you have pains, thyrodi and hormone imbalances, mood swings, etc.

Go here [Removed]

Pay the friggin 500 $ and he will work with you until your done (gut is fixed), sounds like a good enough deal to me, considering you have an entire life a head of you. He even has experience treating tane users. So stop running around checking this, that, thinking its tane poisoning. I had some of the symptoms before the tane. They got worse. Thats why I know that our goal is to rebuild our body function. Not tweak this, that, other thing. Seriously, the intestines are probably the most important organ. Work with them first. If theyre back in action, I think many will see a remarkable difference. Even those who dont notice any problems with the gut/stomach. Check it. I didnt notice it too, but looking back, I think much of it makes sense.

Lupus, MS, hypothyroidism, IBS, these are all names that classify symptoms. Your problem is not to remove the symptoms or know where theyre coming from. Herbalists treated people before without these things. YOur job is to understand what doesnt function. And try to restore the function.

Again, start with the gut. He says he can fix it at 6 monts tops. I say stay with his programm for a year if you have to. I am trying to follow a similar regimen.

Stef. I want to give those Roche bastards a 9 month 80 mg course myself. But a documentary wont even dent them. I beg you. Go to this guy and listen to what he has to offer. You wont get any worse. I've saw paralyzed men become world weight lifting champions. If they can do that, we can fix ourselves up. Im not gonna rot away. And I hope you will keep fighting not to as well.

Like I said, if you want to get to heaven ( enjoying lyfe as a normal human being?), gotta go through hell first ( working with every BS theory imaginable to fix ourselves, while enduring the effects).

P.S. CONCENTRATE ON THE FRIGGIN GUT FOR NOW, IT NEEDS MORE THAN VITAMINS AND DIET

Amen.

Good luck with the meeting today Indigo (although it may of finished by now...)

Edik - The past months on here haven't really filled me with much hope here (at what people are trying here is same old same old like Luke said), but your post may have a bit of foundation at least.

You say this person has experience with Accutane users, but have they been successful? Has it cured all their problems, or to an extent where no further health deterioration occurs (so maybe one can cure problems with a healthy lifestyle if the bowel if fixed)? Really need to know that he really has healed people who have only taken Accutane.

My worry is if it's just taking bentonite clay and psyllium seeds and other similar things like that, then I've been there and done that, as probably have others here.

Edikk - Cheers for the comment, but we are all aware we have a digestive issue. Nothing seems to help though. I've used Oxy powder a few times and it doesn't help the issue. Most of us eat very good diets most of the time.

It's a bit of a chicken and egg scenaria, as to what caused what.

I have constipation, which I first noticed as an issue two-three years ago.

Accutane does have a Gastrointestinal issue, nearly always in long-term sufferers.

But Hypothyroidism causes constipation.

How do I know what's causing what? And what the hell am I supposed to do.

You're saying $500 which immediately makes me think 'What about me - I live in the UK'.

However, bold claims make me suspicous these days and if anything says it can turn a crippled person into a weight lifting expect makes me question it as bullshit.

But, like Lukez said, please let us know when you get better.

We will definitely would appreciate that.

Feel free to talk regularly here.

Most of us are very doubtful these days though, and I don't want to spent a lot of money on something that may not work.

The only way I've read of helping the gut is by figuring out all aggravating factors (i.e. allergies) and stop them.

Then, use something like L-Glutamine to repair the lining of the stomach.

Not sure if this works though.

Everyone - How strict are you (apart from Joe) when it comes to sticking to your healthy diets.

Do you not eat anything bad, like chocolate or ice cream?

I occasionally eat those things because I bloody deserve to.

Anyway, the meeting when great today.

Woke up feeling shit, but I'm a bit better now.

They're very nice and I should start filming soon.

I could tell how much it had affected Derek.

It re-inforces that I mustn't give up.

For my family and friends, I have to carry on trying.. Until the bitter end.

Maybe one day things will get better.

I'll update you on stuff when I can.

Audition is tomorrow... Bit nervous about singing infront of people while being judged, but hey. Push through.

My girlfriend is probably going to be in the documentary now, too.

I think there will be a large portion spent on Roaccutane, because Derek wants to do it for his Son.

Well Edik I think your argument is brilliant and I will definitely check out that dude.

I owe ya'll an update on sleep. The problem boils down to one thing - sharing a bed with my girlfriend. It simply doesn't work for me. She's always hugging me an' shit. Sometimes the selfish bitch adjusts the room temperature or doesn't let me steal all the covers. Unbelievable, right? Oh and she also occasionally snores, and often wakes up before me.

By rights I should just kick her to the curb, but instead I've started sleeping on a separate bed. Sleep is for focusing my troll-like health regenerating powers, like Godzilla with an amputated big toe. Na'm sayin? I can't be having this succubus vamping out on me all day AND night. Word.

So anyway, sleep log.

Three nights ago - so so day. Some fatigue so didn't work very hard, but never got sick either. In fact, haven't gotten sick at all since I started using earplugs and eye mask.

Two nights ago - absolute nightmare. Went to bed around 7-8 pm, gf woke me up at 12 midnight, couldn't return to sleep until 5 am. Slept till 11-12 noon, so a decently productive half-day, but the 12-5am block was totally wasted.

Last night - pulled it back together. Sleep consolidated all in one block, except for a brief cig at vespers. Drank a lot of water and peed several times in the night, and maybe woke up too early to pee. Not perfect, but a massive improvement. Probably next night will be even better, as Circadian normalizes.

The other cool thing is that my new bed is a lot smaller, and has a railing. This greatly constricts any night tossing and turning. Paradoxically, a smaller bed is more restful.

All in all, today is looking pretty damn good, and prospects for tomorrow - I expect to hit the uber levels I hit with the original 11 hour session.

Indigo. I'm on my third day of Accutane. I'm suffering from severe dry eye (doesn't help being a contact lens wearer) and have a cystic breakout all over my lower jawline. Whilst I know everybody is different, I'm just wondering if you knew, would it be damaging to come off Accutance only after three days? I've read so many horror stories and I don't feel I can take the chance. I'm 23 year old and my skin is already very thin, hell, sometimes I get mistaken for being in my thirties, I just can't afford to have it go any thinner...

Sorry about not posting i've been awol for some time, how is everyone doing? I've been finding a few things out. Staying away from Dairy, Egg, Butter and other retinol containing foods. As i've said all along i'm convinced the retinoic acid is stored in the body fat. One of the things from the past that really helped me was juice fasting. Although i went 14 days once, it's never a good idea to go that long. I'm going to go on a 7 day juice fast of mostly green juices, apples, beets, celery etc.... this is what i'm planning to do, also adding garlic to the green juices and ginger to some of the juices. I'm really considering buying 2 bottles of liquid zeolite...and taking about 15 drops three times per day. The thing is the juice fast pushes the stored toxins out of the safety of the fat cells and back into the bloodstream, at this point something has to be there to bind to the accutane and pull it out of the body. It's either liquid zeolite or FIR sauna, to a lesser extent broken cell chlorella may help.

My thyroid is weak as are my adrenals....vitamin D3 helps some of the side effects. Also has anyone checked whether their anemic? low iron is common in these situations.

It's fine to go off it now, severely dry eyes, scaling dry skin, nosebleeds, cracked bleeding lips are also common on the drug. I wish i could say that going off it stops the side effects but in my case they only got 10x worse and it's been 9 years now since taking it and it absolutely ruined my life. But you will be fine, i took it for 1 year... 3 days is not enough to cause any lasting damage, good luck to you, and god bless you.

To the guy who says that accutane still stays in the body -

I finally went to a sauna the other day. I did three sets of 15ish minutes with water-only showers in between. It felt ridiculously good. When I was done I noticed that a few pimples on my face had dry peeling skin around and on them. The only times which i can recall that look was when I was on accutane...is it possible that the extreme sweating might have brought accutane to the surface?

To me that was convincing evidence

I have a very severe skin condition of the face. My skin cells grow extremely quickly....it looks like plaque psoriasis all over my face and scalp, it's all over my nose as well. It started as soon as i stopped the drug...i was 17 then... i'm 25 now and nothing has ever helped the condition. I believed that the retinoic acid was stored in my fat cells under my skin causing the increase in skin cell turnover. I went on a juice fast and within 3 days my skin condition went away....it came back when i stopped the fast. But it proved to me beyond doubt that the accutane was stored in the fat cells. The juice fast causes the body to burn fat pushing the toxins back into the bloodstream...thats why the skin condition stopped. It would work the same with people with (severe facial flushing) rosecea after accutane. I've tried FIR saunas on their own and it didn't work for me and it wasn't for lack of trying.....but i'm not you, and in your case it could work ....i have a feeling that a juice fast with FIR Sauna sessions would help though. You have to get the accutane back into the bloodstream..the juice fast does that. Then the FIR sauna can remove the toxins from the bloodstream via the sweat. That would be something to try....but keep the fasts short. Although the sauna by itself may help you on it's own, there is only one truth...and thats the one that works for you, so let your own body be the judge.

Yesterday did NOT go as predicted. You can never judge a day by its morning. Very little work got done. Reason being, the IBS bill came due for the bad sleep two nights ago.

I could tell I was suffering a lot less than I would've without the new bed strategy... I'll spare you the details of exactly how I know that. But yeah, one day of the new therapy was not enough to erase the negative effects of the previous day's massive circadian stress. All bills come due.

Anyway, I THINK I'm mostly through all that, and expect to be able to work today. But you can never tell. It's day 2 on the new bed strategy. Sleep last night was longer, better consolidated, etc.

I think it's clear now that girlfriend related sleep interruption was a huge untracked variable, so I have no idea what my true max recovery speed is, but it's clearly more than 1 day and less than a week.
