Vegetarian is really bad, since dairy is the most mucus forming & toxic food that exist. Healthy diet = fruits & vegetables only (raw or only some cooked vegetables), and some nuts. But sadly even that is not enough for most people, their body became so weakened that they need to use flushing technique & herbs, or even some glandular's and it will take month or years to get better, but sure that you will.

Cause of all disease is toxicity/lymphatic congestion & lack of filtration from the kidneys. Bacteria, fungus etc.. aren't a cause and are here to break down the toxins.

Vegetarian doesn't include dairy. Is milk a plant or an animal product? :)

And yes to flushing and herbs, but not before clearing the base for six months. I for example ingest a special clay - it regulates the pH of the body/blood.

People are on autopilot for a quick pill/herb fix without handling the fundamentals. The fundamentals are hard. Sugar withdrawal is way worse than nicotine withdrawal. I've been through both.

After reading things about body cleansing, i choose not to take any supplements and i do not believe that Accutane is still in my body. I believe that Accutane HAS DAMAGED my body, my body needs time to heal. I do not believe that it is stored in my body.

Hi, I haven't looked at your post history so I don't know your specifics, how long have you been off it etc.

I do know a lot of isotretinoin specifics, so use this data:

Isotretinoin has three levels of presence in the body:

a) short-term: 46-48h to half-life (plasma level drop to 50%)

b) medium-term: about one month to intra-cellular detection threshold (excluding RNA) - that's when the "good" effects start to wear off and acne/sebum potentially return

c) long-term: up to one year to clear RNA and stop regulating gene transcription

Because of c) (and the massive impact it has on the transcription of HOX genes) you should not get pregnant for one full year after stopping the drug. Doctors say 6 months, but the safe choice is one year.

As you said, screw the forums and live your life. I only returned to check if there is any new development for oily skin. Maybe in the next life...:(

Radikal, being poisoned by a vanity drug is admittedly a first world problem. If I was shot or beheaded I wouldn't have to wake up every morning for the rest of my life to face another day full of severe depression, impotence, infertility, fatigue, pain, and all of the wonderful peripheral effects of having those particular health problems.

Some have made the tough final decision after they were terribly damaged by Accutane.

Would you call them complainers?

Glad to hear your Accutane side effects allow you to find something to look forward to in life.

OP just got fed up with treatments not working for him, I guess. He's still around from time to time.

MrErdem, the "candida overgrowth" health-fad and the scams that went along with it went out of style a few years ago.

Basically, there were online storefronts and unscrupulous doctors trying to pin every health problem imaginable on candida and making money off the treatments.

Look on propeciahelp to see how much luck those guys had curing ED and severe mental side effects with candida treatments. It was a popular forum topic in the past.

You mix vegan and vegetarian, vegetarian still consume dairy.

Clearing the base is the cleansing with herbs and what we do first is eliminating parasites & cleansing the intestine/colon. Clay can absorb some toxins in the intestines but it's one of the less important tool.

Kidney (lymph) filtration is the fundamental to get better. 2/3 lymph eliminated via the kidney and 1/3 via the colon which is known to also drain the lymph from head area.

Everyone as the candida in them, if you want to check if you have too much just do a stool analysis. But candida isn't an enemy, except if it become uncontrolable for your immune system to regulate but that's very rare. The fungus is here to help you breakdown the sticky glue starch you are eating.

i was on it for less than a month and Im sure it wasnt high dose. I've been off it for a year and two months.

My ONLY side effect is hair loss. I'm not even sure whether it's Accutane or long-term stress (Im a uni student and the workload of my course is insane, on top of the stress of applying for jobs) that has triggered it.

Sex drive = adrenals. Poisoning them with more proteins won't help.

Just change your diet, detox & take an adrenal glandular if you need it. http://www.pureformulas.com/pure-adrenal-200-180-capsules-by-professional-formulas.html

This product give an incredible amount of energy and libido, don't waste this energy to continue eating poisoning foods (dairy, meat, grains) or you will make your case worse, use it to get your kidneys filtering and get well. Avoid all toxic stimulant like salt or coffee, specially while taking this product.

I took accutane over ten years ago and it left me with permanently thin and fragile skin. And made me look much older because of that skin thinning effect. Accutane is my only regret in this life, wish I never knew about that shyt.. Oh well, shyt happens, someone give me a time machine.

I took creatine for three months and it didn't changed much. I took it and fit wheights about 4 times a week for a few months I got a lot of new muscle mass, but it didn't help with low sex drive. Any change I noticed was a better erection. Other supplements I took was whey protein and beta-alanine while I was going to the gym.

Hey, do you guys have trouble sleeping? Like waking up with dreams and such after 4 hours of sleep?

Also, do you guys have trouble getting any weight on? I am getting so skinny.. doesnt mattter how much I eat..

And.. do you guys have any problems regarding beard growth and chest hair? I'm 26 but I have only some hairs on the chin.. but anyway it's not like a beard should be.. it's very soft..

Thanks, good luck!

Hey,

In my situation:

No, I have no sleep problems. Sometimes I sleep 10 hours long. (I wake up sometimes in the night but fall asleep then)

Yes, I can not gain weight too, but I am not skinny. I lost about 7-8 kg but then stayed so..

No major difference in beard but chest is more hairy now. But the hair in my legs and arms are so weak and different.

Hmmm very strange MrErdem, from what I know your case is quite recent.. I used to have 90 kg now I have 76, so I'm getting desperate

Ok guys.. another issue: I have big hormone values.. but inexistent libido, bone loss, muscle loss, no beard growth..

Do you guys have big:

DHEA-s (mine is off the charts 607.7),

IGF-1, (top range)

Testosterone (but not free testosterone) mine is 268.8 and reference value is 99-283

DHT......... 876 reference value 250-999 LOL @ my beard.. I should be a monster

I'm asking you guys these questions because maybe my problem is of some other kind.. or maybe my androgen receptors are not working so I cannot use those hormones.. what the actual f*$%?

Good luck guys!

What's the REAL timeframe to recover from Accutane NATURALLY (ie by waiting it out)?

I really think ive stumbled onto something. I took accutane 20 years ago and i am still feeling the effects. joint pain, dry skin, wounds not healing (from dry skin)

I really think some of us cant detox from this drug no matter what we do, while others need to go on multiple courses.... and it comes down to genetics. Ive been reading on Methylation and how up to 20% of people have a genetic defect with folate and B12. So obviously every time i read something like this... i google and cross refererence everything with retinoic acid to see if anything comes up.

I think the joint pain and calcium deposits in the tendons/ligaments comes from a K2 problem.

current list of supplements that i think would help:

Vitamin K2

vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin 1000mcg)

Folate (must be the right kind with the MTHFR defect) 6s 5- methyltetrahydrofolate

Magnesium (to help with detoxification and possibly help with calcium deposits)

TUDCA (liver detox)

Biotin

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18181979 3.3.3 Metabolic effects of isotretinoin and depression

Isotretinoin administration has also been shown to affect metabolic pathways, alterations of which have been linked to depression; two examples are given below involving biotin and homocysteine. Biotin, a member of the B vitamin family (vitamin B-7) is a required nutrient that is involved in the biosynthesis of fatty acids, gluconeogenesis, and metabolism of amino acids. Side effects of biotin deficiency include hair loss, conjunctivitis, neuromuscular dysfunction, skin changes, neurological dysfunction, and of note for this review, depression.139-143 For instance, Baugh described a dietary induced case of biotin deficiency resulting in anorexia, nausea, vomiting, glossitis, skin changes and depression,144 while Levenson139described a biotin deficiency case which was associated with depression and thoughts of suicide. These symptoms went away after biotin supplementation. One mechanism by which biotin is recycled in the body, maintaining its availability, is supported by the enzyme biotinidase.145 Mutations in this enzyme result in biotin deficiency.140, 145-151 Isotretinoin administration to human subjects is associated with a decrease of biotinidase,152 and the presumed decrease in biotin that would result from this may contribute to depression.

Homocysteine is a sulphur containing amino acid that is involved in carbon transfer reactions.153Homocysteine can receive a methyl group from 5-methyltetrahydrofolate and become re-methylated to methionine, the immediate precursor of S-adenosylmethionine (SAM), a donor of methylation reactions involved in the synthesis of DNA, proteins, phospholipids, neurotransmitters and polyamines. SAM is involved in the synthesis in the brain of dopamine, norepinephrine and serotonin, neurotransmitters that have been linked to depression,154, 155 and many studies have found a relationship between elevated homocysteine levels, lower folate concentrations, and depression.153, 156-164 Increased concentrations of homocysteine have also been associated with attacks of violent anger.165 Isotretinoin administration to human subjects was shown to be associated with increased concentrations of homocysteine,166 as well as decreases in 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate,167 providing a potential metabolic mechanism by which isotretinoin may promote depression.

another abstract on accutane and how it affects folate metabolism. All-trans-Retinoic Acid Rapidly Induces Glycine N-methyltransferase in a Dose-Dependent Manner and Reduces Circulating Methionine and Homocysteine Levels in Rats1,2

Abstract

Glycine N-methyltransferase (GNMT) regulates the methyl group supply for S-adenosylmethioninedependent transmethylation reactions. Retinoids have been shown to perturb methyl group metabolism by increasing the abundance and activity of GNMT, thereby leading to the loss of methyl groups. Previous studies used pharmacologic doses (30 mol/kg body weight) of various retinoids administered daily for a total of 10 d. Here, we examined the dose- and time-dependent relationships between all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA) administration and induction of GNMT, as well as determining additional indices of methyl group and folate metabolism. For the dose-response study, rats were administered 0, 1, 5, 10, 15 or 30 mol ATRA/kg body weight for 10 d. For the time-course study, rats were given 30 mol ATRA/kg body weight for 0, 1, 2, 4, or 8 d. A significant increase (105%) in GNMT activity was observed with doses as low as 5 mol/kg body weight, whereas maximal induction (231%) of GNMT activity was achieved at 30 mol/kg body weight. Induction of hepatic GNMT by ATRA was rapid, exhibiting a 31% increase after a single dose (1 d) and achieving maximal induction (95%) after 4 d. Plasma methionine and homocysteine concentrations were decreased 42 and 53%, respectively, in ATRA-treated rats compared with controls. In support of this finding, the hepatic activity of methionine synthase, the folate-dependent enzyme required for homocysteine remethylation, was elevated 40% in ATRA-treated rats. This work demonstrates that ATRA administration exerts a rapid effect on hepatic methyl group, folate and homocysteine metabolism at doses that are within the therapeutic range used by humans.

Effect of isotretinoin treatment on plasma holotranscobalamin, vitamin B12, folic acid, and homocysteine levels: non-controlled study.

ABSTRACT Isotretinoin (Iso) has been used for the treatment of acne. Some previous studies reported elevated homocysteine (Hcy) levels after treatment with Iso. Some side effects have clinical presentations similar to vitamin B12, folic acid deficiencies, and hyperhomocysteinemia. In the present study we evaluated the plasma Hcy levels, the vitamins involved in its metabolism (vitamin B12 and folic acid), and holotranscobalamin (HoloTC), a transport system for vitamin B12 absorption in patients receiving Iso treatment for acne vulgaris. A total of 66 patients with acne vulgaris between the ages of 18 and 40 years were included. Screening for hemoglobin, creatinine, SGOT, SGPT, total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and very low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (VLDL-C), folic acid, vitamin B12, Hcy, and HoloTC were done just before initiation (pretreatment) and after four months of Iso treatment (posttreatment). Posttreatment vitamin B12, folic acid, and HoloTC levels were significantly lower while Hcy levels were significantly higher compared with initial values. Posttreatment total cholesterol, LDL-C, triglycerides, VLDL-C, SGPT, and SGOT levels were also higher, and HDL-C levels were lower compared with initial values while there was no change in hemoglobin levels during Iso treatment. We found that Iso usage might cause decreased vitamin B12, folic acid, and HoloTC. These Iso side effects might contribute to the missing link between Iso usage, hyperhomocysteinemia, and neuropsychiatric disorders. Trials may be made with the aim of demonstrating (clearly) if starting vitamin B12 and folic acid replacement therapies with Iso treatment initialization could be useful for preventing hyperhomocysteinemia and possibly related disorders.

Yep i felt a huge difference when i started supplementing B12. But avoid cyano & hydroxy form, toxic & useless. Use methylcobalamin, the most effective one for me was from doctor's best brand, i open the capsule and took it sublingual, the one from enzymatic therapy seems fine too. Don't take it too high dosage or too long (every day first 10-15 days then 1/week/month), too much can affect parathyroid really bad. You need to eat potassium rich food also while taking it.

That was my only problems in blood analysis, low vitamin D & B12. There is no good vit D supplement so only way is the sun.

It is the active form of Folate that i think we really need along with the active form of B12 and P-5-P (B6) along with biotin. This goes all the way to the epi-genetic spectrum of healing and restarting.

I think the ones having the most problems getting rid of this drug, are the ones with the genetic MTHFR defect. We are stuck is a viscious cycle, and cannot detox. There is not a doubt in my mind that a metabolite is stuck in me. I went on an extreme weight loss protocol a few years ago... and the symptoms came out with a vengence, just like i was on the drug again... and my body simply couldnt get rid of it, so as soon as i stiopped, it went right back to being stored in the liver or the fat.

[Edited link out]

These will help the detox pathway to be restarted:

B12

5-methylfolate

P-5-P

Magnesium

TMG

Probiotics (this drug ruins our gut only further complicating the B-vitamin status..must heal the gut)

This defect is an illusion or at least only a symptom. You have far enough folate in vegetables, no need for synthetic things. B12 is the only thing found nowhere* (even in animal product) that we need to supplement after taking antibiotics or when we have digestive & adrenal problems.

The only way to start detox is getting your kidneys filtering & cleansing the colon.

*maybe there is some in unwashed bacteria/b12-rich soil vegetables
