Ya, I guess that sums up my thoughts on it pretty well. Believe me, I've got my feelers out for RSO. Will buy unless the source is ripping me off for it. It's hard to get enthusiastic about anything working though, going by my past experience. Still has the "something worth trying" feel to it IMO considering the studies and anecdotal successes. Way more solid than wishing on rainbow unicorn farts. Seems relatively safe too, as opposed to many of the somewhat rational, but risky things people have tried to help them.
I agree. This is the first thing I've seen that I think actually has a legitimate shot of helping. If you're looking for RSO I'd go to Colorado and buy the stuff there and turn it into oil yourself or maybe you can even find an RSO already made out there. I definitely wouldn't trust anyone selling the stuff on the street. They could have made it using butane or another solvent that doesn't work for Rick Simpson purposes. I think you mentioned friends that made it so if you talked to them about that maybe you could get them to make exact RSO. Also it is very important to have CBD and most people who grow don't have any in their plants (maybe like .3%). I agree that it is less risky than a lot of other medicines but cannabis oil can cause psychosis. Especially an oil high in THC and low in CBD. More reason to have a high amount of CBD in the oil to work as an antipsychotic against the THC.
And since you guys are talking about AIDS I just saw a video of a guy with AIDS taking RSO saying he is cured. He still has to remain on the stuff but all his white blood cell tests are coming back normal.

Ohio Mother Moving to Colorado to Treat Daughter's Epilepsy With Cannabidiol Oil
anonyy for surgeon general!
I concur!
Latest Breakthrough in Cancer, AIDS, and Accutane Side Effects Research!
anony, I consulted one of my farcical books, and found UVB does in fact cause somewhat random mutations by fusing two neighboring thymine bases together. If this happens at the wrong place in the DNA strand, it can set-off one of the contributing factors in cancer. No toxins necessary.
I don't even know where to begin with your comments on HIV.
All I can figure is that you have some sort of pseudo-religious belief that life is meant to function infallibly, while biology's imperfections are believed by experts to be the driving factor behind evolution.
Really, could you please refer everyone the sources of your golden information?
acne1776, funny you mentioned Colorado. I have an acquaintance who moved there recently and he invited me to visit someday.
The risk of marijuana causing psychosis is greatly lowered if you are an adult.
Don't switch roles please, you are the pseudo-religious believer that believe in "everything is genetic" and autoimmune "disease". I said sun can cause genetic expression change, as it burn the skin, its obvious that it does, temporarly "mutation" in the burned skin too, i said it in my previous post, if you burn your skin (exposure with no adaption time) its dangerous ofc.
I already gived all refers.
I don't have to argue about HIV as it's inventor said its a scam (+ the lack of proof), i only argue about ur false beliefs about genetic & random disease without a real cause.
Anyway i think its pointless to argue with you, you already made your choice, you doesnt want to know what's true or isn't, you will always find an excuse to not confront it, you based your life about those false belief that accutane is a permanent thing, you will think that way for every subject.
Where you read that sun put toxins in your skin?
Molecular Biology "made simple and fun", 4th edition, by David P. Clark and Lonnie D.Russel. pg165.
"UV radiation makes two neighboring thymine bases react with each other to give thymine dimers. These confuse DNA polymerase, which will make mistakes when synthesizing a new DNA strand"
It's a book written by experts to teach basic principles and techniques of molecular biology to laymen.
ill only argue with ur false belief about genetic & random disease without a cause.
Pretty much everyone else posting here has narrowed the cause of their illnesses down to isotretinoin/Accutane.
I never technically said it was a "genetic" condition either. More like "long term changes in gene transcription" that are unlikely to be reversed by diet or removal of "toxins", whatever that happens to mean.
Not once have I stated this as a known fact either. I've tried to only provide evidence and my thoughts.
I tried to read through all of the evidence you have provided, but some of it doesn't tie in with the point you are trying to make. I don't count blog posts unrelated to us as a group as reliable evidence. Sorry I'm so closed-minded.

Problem is, you still understand physiology, every "disease" come from an inapropriate cellular environment, there is no permanent expression change, there is no random disease without reason. It is not reversed only with diet, diet is about "do no more harm" as i already said a lot of time too, it's by retablishing an optimal environment, detoxifying the body and giving him appropriate food who truely nourish and doesnt add more toxicity.
So Dubya_B you think our side effects are caused by epigenetic changes?
And thats great that you have a buddy in Colorado. Definitely should take advantage of that opportunity.
Yeah, I really do believe so. I'm not going to go through the entire spiel again, but this paper sums up the rationale pretty well.

It still leaves many many questions to be answered though.
Hah. I'm going to try to support my local economy first. If it comes down to going to Colorado, I'll take a 4 day weekend in Spring/Summer to visit. I'm going on year 15 of dealing with side effects, so I don't see much struggle in waiting another few months. Besides, the guy lives on a cold-ass mesa. I want to go when the weather is fair when I visit him.
Like i already said twice: "sun can cause genetic expression change, as it burn the skin, its obvious that it does, temporarly "mutation" in the burned skin too, i said it in my previous post, if you burn your skin (exposure with no adaption time) its dangerous ofc"

No, when the error gets copied into the DNA of the daughter cells, it's permanent and gets passed on to further generations of that cell. Notice the sentence in the book I quoted says "DNA polymerase", not "RNA polymerase"?
Usually a single base mutation doesn't make much difference. If it happens to cause a cell line to become immortal (I think this involves sharply increased telomerase and cyclin activity), the cell line becomes cancerous.
there is no permanent expression change
See the above paragraph. A mutation can very easily cause permanent changes in transcription rates, or cause faulty proteins to be produced.

This is an honest question, what do you eat to you get your proteins and b12?
marijuana will only cause psychosis if you are predisposed genetically/runs in family. if you are of sound mental health, it won't do anything unless of course you thinks its a good idea to lace it and take molly lol.
Hah. You speaking from experience? Who's Molly anyways? I had a friend who said he used to roll with her.
I hate to keep posting studies, but this morning someone just pointed me to a long-term observational study in New Zealand that found a link between cannabis use in teens and development of psychosis in early adulthood. They think they found the gene responsible, but other studies have yet to prove it:
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0006322305001034
Interestingly, that study correlated early cannabis use and development of psychosis to having two copies of a certain polymorphism (common mutation) of a methylation gene that a few of us have had tested by 23andMe.
So Dubya_B you think our side effects are caused by epigenetic changes?

It is false information, there is no permanent change, we understand nothing about dna, we can only rely on testimony and experience who proove that it isn't permanent at all. For example if it was permanent with the sun we will all have skin cancer or skin malformation after a sunburn. You can't hack the human body, it is very difficult to do so, it always come back to normal by himself even if we don't understand how.
Some of your aricle are about natural changes passed to offpring, not about an exterior molecule who changed it after birth. All of the test about dna and epigenetic are invalid, they are not in a normal condition, in a complete structure as a whole adult human body, every said epigenetic change after birth are just environmental adaptation and temporarly modification, but of course if you don't change that environment it will be permanent.
Legumes are the worst food on earth, complex carbohydrate, complex protein, full of purins, phytic acid, lectins, enzyme inhibitors etc.. Complex carbohydrate & protein are already poisoning by themselves cause they are mucus forming and glue-like coating the intestine, and more importantly they doesn't digest well together. Any food that are difficult to digest are against a detoxification process, the body doesnt have energy to digest and launch detox process at the same time. That's why people eat crappy food, cause they want to block the detox process to feel better, try 2weeks with a diet with only fruits & juices vegetables, you will feel that detox process (or see it with some skin eruption for ex -skin is the third kidney, who accutane destroyed-).
B12 is normally in fruits & vegetables but modern agriculture killed the soil and there is no b12 anymore. A healthy gut synthetize itself enough b12 (sadly if you took accutane it isnt, as it destroy the gut the same as it does to the skin). You can take supplement if you want.
I think that 200-300gr of organic non-grain fed meat is fine, specially if you do liver flush beside.
We don't need much protein. You have the protein in leafy vegetables juices and fruits too. If you are afraid of lacking of protein you still can eat some seed (linseed, hemp, chia, ..) in smoothies or take some spirulin. Quinoa is the only one acceptable "cereal", it contain a lot of protein.
Your right about HIV it's a scam , Hiv has never been isolated because it's part of the human genome that every person has on this planet these viral like particles get expressed if someone is doing drugs is pregnant or has a cold so what these HIV tests are picking up is the detection of a healing process as the cells spit out viral like particles under certain conditions. AID$ is real but it's chemically based in the western world ie Street drugs and pharma drugs and poverty based in the third world , anyone wanting to know more on this topic should watch the documentary HOUSE OF NUMBERS or google .............Dr Stefan Lanka exposes the VIRAL FRAUD a brilliant virologist and molecular biologist Interesting topic no doubt but it shows the corruption of orthodox (allopathic) medicine amazing really... I discovered all of this after watching house of numbers on you tube so I got curious and did some research .....
Now concerning hemp oil has anyone really found a credible source ???? I still want to give it a try as a lot of people have had success with it for now i'm taking
lithium orotate again which works great for the mood I think it's the best supplement to use other than perhaps hemp oil...

Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutesssss.
Is anyone in favor of returning this convo to medicinal marijuana and/or ongoing advocacy efforts?
I found a link to part of the 2002 Accutane safety hearing before the House Energy and Commerce Committee. The whole thing is worth watching. Especially given the circumstances, Bart Stupak did an incredible job IMO of questioning Roche's then-CEO, George Abercrombie. Hope you all have some time to watch it.
How time flies by. I lived in an abyss of darkness post-tane and I still don't know what exactly transpired throughout those years. The human body never ceases to shock me and I only took the drug for two to three weeks at most.
It really did a number on my pysche, or perhaps taking the drug took my mind from neutral and put it in overdrive. Odd time to check in but I just wanted to say hey to anyone I use to converse with on here.
I'd also be open to talking to anyone over PM if you have any Q's or just feel like venting. I know I needed it back then.
SClippers you picked a good time to check in. Not sure if you've been keeping up with the thread but we've made some pretty big strides here over the last year. A couple people have recovered (or at least made tremendous improvements) using Cannabis Oil aka Rick Simpson Oil. If you're having psyche problems, CBD which is one of the cannabinoids found in cannabis has recently been shown to treat a very wide range of psyche disorders including anxiety and depression. Studies have also shown it to help repair brain damage.
Does this mean, that it is possible that accutane victims pass on their permanent side effects to their children?
Might be a possibility, but probably going a little too far to assume it would. Even scientists don't currently understand everything about how epigenetic alterations get passed to offspring, or which ones do and which ones don't. Additionally, we don't know exactly what disturbances Accutane caused which gave us these side effects, or even how the drug works on so many levels of human biology.

Why do we rarely get skin cancer from a sunburn?
(1) It's very improbable for a single nucleotide mutation, or even one spanning multiple nucleotides to cause a cell to become cancerous. It's a rare event in any given cell.
(2) Suppressor genes ideally initiate apoptosis (programmed cell death/suicide) in the event of a cancerous mutation.
(3) A cancer-causing event in a cell should signal the release of chemicals which target the cell for destruction by immune cells.(sort of like a "scent" trail for the immune system)
I'm sure I'm forgetting a few other biological processes that protect us from cancer.
You are absolutely right anonny. Theoretically, different toxins have been proven to bind to pores on the nucleotide membrane, preventing repair mechanisms from reaching their core. This isn't a process of aging, but could be caused by a bad environment that wasn't true to nature.
You are also right about in-vitro observations sometimes being far different than in-vivo observations. There is a possibility that similar methylation patterns were found in the grandparents and grandchildren because they both ate the same bad foods too. The scientists probably didn't take this into consideration before they published their findings.
Gladiatoro- I'm surprised you can't find a source for the raw material around where you live. I thought there were growers all over Western Canada and the laws were pretty lax. Buying the product and making your own oil would be much more reliable than worrying about buying oil made from a poor quality strain.
Clippers-, Weren't you one of the guys who had huge improvements from water fasting? People keep asking me who these Accutane victims were, and I only know of Welt who used to post here on acne.org having a substantial benefit from it.

Hey, I haven't been on here in quite sometime but that tends to happen when you're keeping busy. I acutally came back to PM an old time friend to touch bases. I've heard of Simpson oil and it uses in managing cancer, but that's about as much as I know. I'm guessing that you guys buy bud and make it yourself? At least in my case, I was constantly suffering from bouts of depression and paranoia. It wasn't so much that the men in black were out to get me as it was my own self defeatist attitude. I just hated everything about myself and I would routinely attribute all of my failures and setbacks to accutane. I'm sure some of it had merit, but I was going down a slippery slope where it was always one thing after another. I haven't opened up to anyone I know about this outside of the net and I'm happy there are communities like this exist to share our unique thoughts and idea. We all long to be a part of a community.
I can't necessarily pinpoint my recovery to any one thing, and for all we know it could have been something as simple as time; but I definitely noticed an immediate improvement in my clarity of thinking and overall mood after smoking hash. Have you been using Can oil yourself?
Dubya - Haha good memory. Looking back at it I don't think it was was strict as I made it out to be. I did up my water intake from perhaps 1L a day (various sugar beverages) to 3-3.5 L a day which helped with my joint and dryness issues.
I could bring up 20 or so different things that I felt helped me but that'd take all day haha. I do regret using accutane but I just wanted to come back to tell everyone that you can live a pretty fulfilling life after the fact. It's kind of hard to see in the moment especially when you're young as most of us. I didn't have much guidance as a young adult and having to live with these side effects definitely sapped the life out of me. After all, don't most humans feel like superman during their youth? The worst part is there's no one you can really turn to because I know my doctors brushed off all of my concerns. Parents? No.
Its a shame that most of the regular users have stopped visiting because I would have loved to have read their updates. I do have to add that Im more appreciative of this community after the fact because I felt so alone during my short lived love affair with Accutane.
Do feel free to PM me if you guys have any private Q's. On an unrelated note, I have noticed my skin is a lot thicker and I can't tell you why. I also look like quite a bit younger. I might post up a pretty detailed accounts of all the things I've tried over the years whenever I'm in one of my writing moods.

Hi there first time on here but been doing research- been ill for seven years after taking roaccutane for 9months, am now trying to gather information... I hear many are filing for lawsuits in the uk but there are no groups where everyone meets together to discuss so is very difficult..I have set up a Facebook group called roaccutane action uk -there is a page and a closed group- I will use the closed group as its more private so please join it and share around and maybe we can get somewhere with this..I emailed mp Ed as well and got a reply saying that there is an ever growing number of people getting in touch with him!
Just bumping this post. I don't think it got posted for a few hours since you are a new member. Great idea too.
@SCilppers- Thanks for giving an update by the way. I'm curious how long it was between developing side effects and when you first started feeling noticeably better?
Dubya you mentioned Welt did the fast? I remember first getting on this site and trying to message him about that. I remember he had sexual dysfunction. How much success did he have with that in the end?
Got myself a vapouriser and finished exams! Got to say I'm still not a big fan of getting high though (might just be the weed), but I will play it out for a while to see if I can get any benefits from it. I'll probably try some other methods of ingestion too. I think I will limit my use of it though due to its supposed effects on short term memory.
Welcome new/returning members!
Welt didn't quite recover, but said he was doing much better. His libido vanished 1 1/2 months off of the drug, and this was his main complaint/symptom.
I emailed him back in the Spring of 2012 to see how he was doing. This was his reply:
I'm doing pretty well, sorry for not checking in. Sex life is getting back to normal (I prolly have the sex drive of an average mid 30 yr old). I'm back to having sex, masturbating 2-3x/day. Its not quite as pleasurable and not quite as easy to get hard as pre-accutane, but still feels fuckin good. Having a little trouble concentrating on stuff, but then again I've always been that way. You should try doing a 30 day water fast if you can stomach it. I almost made it to 30 and I'm feeling a lot better.
Of note, he was still in his first year of suffering side effects when he got better. I actually spoke with him on the phone a couple times, and he sounded like he had things pretty rough in the beginning.
@Anginver- Just thought you should know they blocked your email address in the Medschat thread.
If anyone would like to speak with another group of Accutane victims:
