first 2 months had difficulty breathing, then it was gone by my 3rd month n started expericne gum aches then it stopped. now on my 4th month i've been gettin more joint aches. joint aches since the start but not as bad, only when i was on 120mg, now im on 80mg n joints dont hurt as much....i would say my side effects are minor...oh n drylips, skin stll a lil oily.
I had acne for many years and was always scared to go on accutane because of its side effects.
I've tried almost everyting on the market but have never managed to stay acne free.
I'm now 1 month post accutane and I can honestly say that it was one of the best decisions I've made. I had extremely dry lips and drier skin while on accutane, but its now more or less back to normal.
As for the positive effects - I have clear skin:-)
I just thought it might help someone to make their mind up. It's really worth it. You will feel like a different person.
Good luck to all of you. Go to your doctor, monitor your health, be sensible while on it and everything will be fine.
While on accutane i experienced extremely dry skin, nosebleeds (at night especially), and dry hair. Later in the course my hair thinned and i stopped taking accutane after 4 months. My skin kind of thinned too, but i didnt think anything of it. Now a couple years after accutane my hair has never ever returned to what it once was my skin is still pretty dry especially my lips. I have developed rosacea, thin fragile skin that is starting to show wrinkles, i have tendonitis in my shoulder that came out of no where, wounds still heal slower and usually lead to scars. Lastly, i just found out i have raynauds phenomenon and am getting tested for an auto immune disease... All i had was mild acne. I asked my derm why i was prescribed this in the first place and he said "you had scars.." It was also my first treatment they gave me. Thought it was supposed to be last resort.
