Hey, when I was on Accutane I had a pressure feeling in my head. I stopped Accutane about a week ago because of it. Mine was mostly in the lower middle of my forehead and the top of my nose, but now it has also moved to the sides of my head, mostly on my right side near my temple and cheekbone. The pressure feeling also did used to make me feel weird during the day, and after I stopped the accutane I experienced facial numbness on the spots that had the pressure. I tolerated with the "funny feeling" for about 3 weeks before I stopped. Does it seem harder/can you feel the pressure when you raise your eyebrows? How long have you had this feeling? Is it the worst about an hour or 2 after you take your pill? Do you have any other related symptoms or is it just a weird pressure feeling?

I suggest you call your dermatologist and tell him/her about it. I freaked my derm out when I told him about this side effect and he immediately told me to stop. But it's a good thing I did.

Ask me any other questions you have. I'm not here to scare you away from taking Accutane, I just want to help. When I had my symptom I never saw anything on this board really about it and I wished there was someone else out there like me who had experienced the same thing.

i started off on 20mg a day for a month and then my derm moved me up to 40mg a day. id say about 3 days into taking 40mg a day i started feeling this weird pressure like sensation on the bak left corner of my head that made me feel just weird idk how to explain it. it felt like as if id been watching hours upon hours of tv without a break and u couldnt take anymore of it and i woke up every morning with this feeling. after taking 11 or 12 of these 40mg pills i stopped. actually right after i posted this i called my derm and he called me bak and said to stop taking the pills. since i didnt take the pill today i think thats wat helped this weird feeling go away otherwise it probably would still b persisting. other than this feelings i just have the regualr dried lips and several nosebleeds throughtout the course. the days before today i would wake up and feel kinda funny then that feeling would go away but an hour after i took the pill the feeling would come bak and go on and off throughout the day. i cant feel the pressure when i raise my eyebrows maybe cuz the pressure is nearing the bak of my head

I think it's a good thing you stopped, I know it really sucks but as I have learned the hard way, any very noticeable pressure feeling in the head on this medication is not something to be brushed off. I think tension might be a little different. But the feeling I had was something very noticeable and bothersome, and I had never felt anything like it before. I hope you caught it in time and that its gone for good.

Hey everyone! I just started accutane around 12 days ago. My dermatologist was super eager to put me on this drug and I started off on 40mg a day. After a few days I became horribly depressed and couldn't stop crying.

I told my derma about this and she told me to stop the drug immediately. I was feeling much better after I stopped, but after a visit from her she told me to keep going with 20mg a day and to call her if I was feeling strange.

Today, after taking the 20mg dose in the morning, I've been feeling extremely tired and slept basically the whole day. I woke up with this weird pressure feeling in my head which wouldn't go away after a long jog. I'm pretty concerned at this point.

I mean, I really want clear skin so badly but I don't want to sacrifice my mental sharpness or my happy nature for it. Does anyone have any advice or experienced similar things? Please let me know! Thanks :)

You obviously are not having a good reaction to Accutane. It is a very serious drug, I am not sure if you are still taking the 20mg or having issues, but if so please stop and re call your derm!

Also, I am not sure what other things you have tried, but take a look at the holistic forum or if you have hormonal issues treatments for them. Also, some have had success with light therapy!

Good Luck

I feel the exact feeling you desribe and the pressure is in the same exact spot. What should I do? I am halfway through my second month.
