I've struggled with adult acne for many years. I started using Acanya in November and have had ZERO blemishes since then (3 months). I was using BP 10% daily previously with mixed results. I believe Acanya includes a topical antibiotic (Clindamycin) so it must be this component (or the combination with BP) that did the trick. My daily regimen is to scrub face and chest with a medium stiff synthetic brush, rinse, dry and then apply Acanya gel once daily. I have experienced NO redness or dryness and NO increase in acne. IMHO this stuff is PHENOMENAL. I wish I had known about it years ago.

my derm prescribed acanya and atralin and adoxa for my adult onset acne.. ive been on it for about 6 days now so far i see some results- they say it can dry out your skin but my derm told me to use cerave AM and PM and cream cleanser which works great and it doesnt dry out my skin ,.. so i honestly dont know if acanya can have such side effects.

it is expensive though my insurance didnt cover it and with the coupon i had to pay 50 dollars for it and 25 for atralin.

I had been using acanya and I LOVEDDDD it! Helped my acne clear a LOT faster and never dried me out too much, even in the winter. Sadly, my pharmacy (RAid) said their supplier stopped producing it. Does anyone else know about this?? Should I go back and get another script from my derm and take it to another pharmacy or do they all use the same supplier? Anyway, TRY THIS MED! Its expensive but it really was a savior to me in my post-accutane re-breakout stages.

I have been on acanya for over 2 months now and I am still breaking out. I still a mixture of whiteheads, pustules, and large inflamed pimples. Overall I like it because it is gentle and once your skin gets used to it then you're good to go. I do not find it overly greasy either, but I use it in the evening. Last year when I was breaking out bad, I was only Acanya in the AM as a spot treatment, Aczone in Pm all over, and doxy and it took some time but my skin cleared. I eventually weened off of the antibiotics and stopped using the acanya gel and my skin was wonderful up until November. Now i'm back at square one. I'm going to give acanya another month to see if it is doing anything and if not, it's back to the drawing board.
