I was only on accutane for 3 months, had back pain the whole time but attributed it to an injury that I had gotten instead. I had constant achiness in all up and down my back, particularly low back and near my neck. Neck cracked all the time. I've been off it for 2 months and still feel pain. My armpits smell awful too. I'm 19 years old and a serious athlete, take care of myself and have never had any physical issues before. Everything hurts. Can't believe this drug is legal, the doctors don't know a thing. They said I wouldn't have side effects a month after I was done taking it yet I still do. When I told them I had body odor, they said they'd never heard of it and that it was probably something else. So, I did some research and found out they were just idiots. There are a million fucking supplements out there and I don't know what to take that will work. Vitamin B, C, E, fish oil, zinc, hyaluronic acid... I can't ask a doctor because no one knows a fucking thing about accutane. Unreal, might have to quit sports
Leaving a reply on this despite being 18 years too late.
I took accutane twice between ages 14-16 to treat reoccurring face, back and chest acne.
I am now 22, and while my skin has greatly improved the effects of accutane persist. Since I was 16, I have had consistent pain in both knees with no way to help them. Doctors quite literally do not know what is wrong with them, but I know in my heart of hearts its the accutane, and the way it completely dried out my body which I am still dealing with today.
It is both nice and sad to see people who are also suffering from joint pain in the long-term alongside me. Its nice to not be alone, but I wish there was a fix for this.
