Mikey - pardon my complete ignorance here, but could you please walk me through what you do with the aloe vera?

I'm assuming you slice open the leaf and take out the aloe - put it in a blender with some water to make a paste mixture. Put the mixture on your scalp and let it sit for at least 45 minutes and then rinse out....is that correct? and you are only doing this 1x per week?

Second dumb question - where do you find an aloe plant?!

Yea, i asked my mom again, but she said that she doesnt use water, so forgive me for mentioning water, just blend the aloe part. and apply it to your whole head let it sink in, try to get it on da scalp as much as possible and do it once a week, or maybe every 4 days or something.. dont let the aloe vera dry up in your hair, tahts why you leave it in for 45 mins so at the end of that rise it out and dont wash your hair for like 1 or 2 days so it has time to sink in even after you rised it out.

Perfect. Do you shampoo immediately before or after putting in the aloe or do you just rinse it out and then let it go?

I tend to shampoo before using the aloe vera because that cleanses my scalp of oil and stuff, so then i apply the aloe vera and it has a better chance of sinking in. Once its time to rinse, jsut put some water over your head and rinse, and dont shampoo for the next 2 or 3 days...

Mark - what are your thoughts about copper peptides. As you know I'm anti-Rogaine so I was doing some reading about this and wanted to hear your thoughts.

I think they can help us yeah, The anti inflammaotry nature can help some and i believe it will help keep follicles in anagen for longer.

The aloe vera thing is actually a good idea to try, i also recommend emu oil if you haven't tried it yet. I use that for both the hairloss and accutane induced rosacea and it instantly calms some of the inflammation and with doubt stimulates some regrowth.

how is the laser going? I have seen definate improvements but i have been using one form of light therapy or another for a long time now...

I lost over 500 hairs today and yesterday. I am about ready to give up and shave my head. I cannot take another high shed period. I'm seriously losing my mind.

Mark - gave up on the lasers -thought they were increasing my shed so i went back to all of my old regime stuff,i.e. activ f and KGF hair serum.

I just ordered some aloe plants so i will try that soon. I still can't believe this madness is starting all over again. I was just thinking that i was finally out of the woods and then bam, nightmare begins again.

hey gracie, dont stress it so much, the more you stress the worse it will get. Try the aloe as soon as you get it and it will make a dramatic improvement in your hair like it did to mine. It's amazing this stuff works.

And if none of this stuff works for you, consider a topical steroid. Trust me it is the best thing for our hairloss and it won't damage your scalp i have been reassured numerous times by my derm and he isn't the sort to lie.

Thanks guys. Mikey - what does your hair look like after rinsing the aloe out. I got the plant today, but i'm concerned about putting it in my hair tonight, rinsing it out tomorrow and then having to go to work. Does it make it look greasy or oily?

Nope gracie, the great thing about it is that no one ever knows. Because when you rinse it out it gets out of your hair completely, there is not residue your hair will feel alot softer and it will be more flowing as in it will move more..like my hair was really hard and after applying the aloe it got really soft and its great. It will start working the same day you will notice a big difference in the mourning but give it a week you will see regrowth, so try to use it every week. Its really good. and dont worry about how it leaves your hair because after you rinse it out, it comes off.

I was an idiot and didn't mash up the aloe with a blender so it was little impossible to put it on my scalp last night! I will try again this evening. Fingers crossed.

Skipped last night - had a dinner to go to and was way too tired to deal with it when i got home!

btw - how do you apply the aloe - do you just use your hands and apply it to your scalp? I have long-ish hair, so i'm thinking about using a syringe to apply it to my scalp.

did you really see an immediate decrease in shedding? nuts. do you think it would be okay to do nightly or do you think that is overkill?

I just use my hands and massage it in to my hair. Yes i do see an immediate lower in shedding and tons of regrowth. if can try to tie your hair up and try to get it on all your hair so it can smooth out the texture of the long hairs to. leave in for 1 hour and make sure it doesnt try up. then rinse and your set. Just do it once every 3 or 4 days. I think everyday would be overkill. Im not sure.

pretty much the way u described....I split a aloe vera leaf in half, took out the hard gel stuff, blended it and massaged it into my scalp.

I used it twice in 3 days, I guess because I was anxious. I'm gonna use it for another 2 weeks and then give my opinion. I can say this though - immediately after rinsing it out and for a few hours after, my hair definitely feels smoother. Not sure the effect it's having on my shedding though. I'll update when I can be more sure of the impact it's having.

Mikey - have used aloe for the last 3 nights in a row and had the WORSE shed of my life this morning. I know it can't possibly be from the aloe though.
