Propecia shed? It happens quite often, how long have you been taking it for?
What you need to remember also is that our hair may by in 'sync' now. Alot of the personal experiences of TE that i have read say that they go back to having normal heads of hair but seem to loose no hair for a while then loose more now and then, that's simply due to the hair growth and shedding being synced due to the bowt of TE they have gone through...
My guess is that it is the propecia working for you, like when you took the minox? you had the classic shed with minox, no reason why you aren't doing the same with propecia!!

Im thinking of trying propeica, is it only for mpb tho?
well it has only been clinically tested for MPB, but im pretty sure it can help with pther forms of hairloss, due to how it raises free testosterone (anti inflammatory) whilst lowering DHT, which causes MPB. But dolph man i really don't think you should be using it at 16, you haven't finished growing you don't want to mess with your hormones, plus you won't need it believe me...

I didn't shed this morning in the shower. I really have no idea what's going on.
I agree with Lamarr. Rudolph, you should hold off on Propecia. You're too young. You don't want to mess yourself up. I also agree that you won't need it.
Good stuff that you didn't shed Andy, it may of just been the shock of starting propecia, you can get shedding via two means on propecia, one by the shock of the change in blood levels of test/dht, and two from TE...
Dolph i think propecia is only prescribbed for over 18's isn't it? (i know it can be obtained by other means).
I think it is to early for me to tell, but i think my working out theory seems to help with my shedding, very strange indeed... I also still have TONNES of regrowth, it is just that the longer my hair the thinner it gets towards the end, for obvious reasons...

I'm glad you still have a lot of regrowth, buddy. I do, too. It just hurt me very deeply to see 20 tiny hairs, which I had been so proud of, in my hand last night.
What worries me about this shed is that I only just started Propecia. Last night was my sixth pill. I am just going to keep taking it, keep using Rogaine, and hopefully in another six months I'll look somewhat decent. But this whole thing is killing me. It really is.

Well im pretty sure that in 6 months you will have a considerably better head of hair, your shedding stopped, your folicles werent out of action for very long due to MPB (if they even where). So you have great chances!!
My hair that regrows is the same as the ones i loose, the ones on my temples start off smaller but become terminal hairs over time, hair growth is far more complex than anyone realises, it is never clear cut and is like acne in many ways, it will take time for us to determine the full extent of the damage done...
im still losing a ton of hair everyday, I don't see that biotin working, this sucks so much.., Im most likely to go on minox soon, but i heard once you stop the hair you grew from minox falls out, how true is this?
Mikey,
Apparently, it's only true if the hair loss is due to MPB. If it's purely do to TE, then you can use minoxidil until the hair comes back and then stop.
I am personally of the opinion that every guy in the world should use minoxidil. If I have a son (if a woman will marry me after this catastrophe), when he turns 18, I'll tell him to start minoxidil at 18. Why the hell wait? Even if you don't have MPB, at least you're protected in case you do.
By the way, I do not work for Rogaine. I am just a hair activist. ...

Isnt minodoxil just rogaine? Are you sure its okay to use just for TE and the hair wont fall out if you stop using it? Does it actually help if you have TE?
Is this good enough?

Yes, minoxidil = Rogain, or Regaine in the UK, apparently. And I've read at multiple sources (I don't remember which; but you can probably Google it) that it's not only recommended for TE, but the hair you gain will not fall out once it grows back from TE.
Doctors recommend 5%, not 3%. If you get it, be sure to get the foam. The liquid is really messy.
Dolph man, you don't need any treatment other than try and eat healthy and do some exercise, i garuntie you will be fine man, please take my word for it!! You where on the drug for 1.5 months, imo that isn't long enough to have any permanent effects on the skin!!
I just scheduled an appointment with a trichologist (hair doctor) in New York City. It's on Saturday. I hope to have some more answers after meeting with this guy, who seems completely legit.
Cool Andy, i have been looking for one in my area, but firstly i don't trust the tricology society over here (uk), you don't need much to become a member, i probably have more knowledge on the subject than the person i would likely see!!
Secondly i'm pretty sure the cause of mine isn't anything a tricologist could treate ( i know it's not MPB, i know there is more to it than plain TE) so i need to get my arse down and tested for lupus, i have had two lovely new ulcers pop up today just inside my lips, nice when your trying to eat more after hitting the weights *sigh*...
I need to excuse my spelling btw, sometimes i rush my posts !!If you start using rogaine at 18 for the rest of your life will it prevent mpb from ever happening?
I don't know, but it will delay it for a very long time. The key is to think of the lifespan of a normal hair and slowing down cycling. In other words, if you preserve hairs with 5-year lifespans through Rogaine, then you'll cycle every 5 years, instead of preserving 3-year hairs and cycling every three years. So that if you have 4 cycles left, you'll go bald in 20 years instead of in 12 years. Does that make sense? Let me know if it doesn't. But the point is that Rogaine preserves the hair you have. I wish I had started at 18.
I agree rogaine is a good product, but i just really wish i didn't have to become enslaved to another product, i have had to use stuff for my skin for years!! (and still do). How much effort is it to apply twice a day Andy? i don't see how i will be able to get it down to my scalp, don't know how much help it will be with me either, seens as i think my is due to some auto immune condition, propecia will be of help though, so i plan on crushing it into a minox solution to kill two birds with one stone (this does work btw).

I've read crushing Propecia doesn't work. But maybe it does.
About applying the Rogaine: when you're hair is wet, you just run your Rogaine-filled hand through your hair. It's not so bad. It's like applying gel (not that I do this), only you press a little deeper. I mean, it's annoying, but it's worth it if it works.
just as a bit of info or whatever, merk (original propecia patent holders) are applying for a patent/copyright on topical finesteride. They also proved topical finesteride works in stage three of there original trial... so it does work and i have heard some people have good results!! i may use a finesteride/minox combo in the morning and a spiro/minox combo at night... will leave it a few months yet tho!!

So I didn't shed this morning, either.
This is a bit out there, because my diagram crap is out there already. I think I can explain my shed according to my diagram. If I made you a diagram, you will see what I mean. The hairs I shed are from "Regrowth I." They shed at the end of "Regrowth Telogen." Hence, it makes sense that they are short hairs. They are the right size, too.
It's a crazy theory, but I'll take solace in it. As long as I don't shed anymore. And I still have a lot of regrowth.
