I was on Solodyn for about 6 months or so before I switched to generic Minocycline. Before that, I was on Doxycycline.
Solodyn worked okay for me, but not perfectly. My acne isn't awful to begin with, but it didn't prevent breakouts at that time of the month. It didn't do much overall, I just switched to generic because Solodyn was so expensive and my insurance didn't want to pay for it ($1000 for a bottle that lasts a month...really?)
hey. I also dont have insurance. So you used it for 6 months and it cost $1000 per month for a total of $6000 during that time?? I wouldn't mind spending that much type of money for it if i know it works but from reading reviews, i dont see much good things about it.
How is generic micocycline? Did your derm prescribe you a topical along with it? I ask this b/c my derm prescribed me soloydn and epiduo but i dont have insurance and if im paying 1000/month for solodyn and 200 dollars/month for epiduo and it doesn't work, well that would make me not want to use it.
Hi. I have had acne for the past 5 years (I'm 18) and its exhausting. I have a bunch of dark spots around my mouth and my forehead. I also use cerave cleanser and lotion. I go to a dermatologist and have been on retin-a micro gel and just started solodyn a week ago. I'm not seeing any change. I can't deal. I hate to look in the mirror.
On another note, does anyone know of a concealer that won't create flaky skin that will cover blemishes.
