@Thinker5No, even after I suggested it, he brushed it off like it wasn't necessary.

We all knew or will know the samescenario : trying conventional medecine, visiting a lot of dermatologists, testing all antibiotherapy existing, then, tired by conventional medicine, we try natural treatments and so spending a lot of money in essential oil,miracle ingredients (grapefruit seed extract, soap etc.), alternative medicine (accupuncture, homeopathy etc.), testing many diet (without dairy/sugar/gluten, paleo etc.)... until wenotice that (almost) everything is useless.
Do not waste your time, your money and your energy as I did !!! Buy Benzoyle Peroxyde in gel and cleanser (no bacterial resistance), try sulfur soap if you want, andcontrol the elements that increase your folliculitis (do sport or mediation if you are very stressed, solve your personal problems if it makes you anxious, eat less sugar etc.)... then wisely wait for science to find a real cure.
@FungalAcneHey! I just ordered it off amazon anyone will be fine. Another thing I noticed today, I visited some friends and we went out for food, feeling confident with my good skin day! Any way in the evening I noticed my skin was so oily it was insane, like a real oil slick, I have not done anything different with so much oil I noticed some miniature red marks appear which will no doubt turn into pustules, I came home and immediately washed with the sulphur soap. Face is dry as a bone again but the damage was done in that I think il be waking up with a couple of pustules.. interestingly I had a huge meal and there was some diary involved.. I started thinking I wonder if this triggered an insulin response hence my super oily skin the the evening. Needless to say Im not sure if it was this or not but it seems strange I was making good progress then this happened. I had a red mark on the side of my nose and one on my far left cheek, I havent had one there for so long I cant even remember, I dont normally eat dairy or bread so perhaps this could be the culprit also.. once thing after another.. just a thought if you guys eat dairy also, perhaps an intolerance. Il see tomorrrow if my skin is back too normal come the evening and report back!
BP works my skin is clearing
i only have active 1 pimple on my hairline which I feel is coming to a head. Rest of my acne has dried up. Been washing my hair/scalp with it morning/night
but underneath and corners of my eyes are constantly red and above eye area is a little swollen. It's weird cuz no BP touches my eye area yet that's the only place we here I'm reacting
Only using the 5% wash. I can't tolerate the cream at all...fuck.
Hi guys another update, my skin is so much better consistently. I have been using Sulphur soap morning and night but in the evening after the sulphur wash Ive been apply honey and oat mask as I said before. I figured seen as my skin is improving a lot Id take a gamble therefore introduced Finacea Azeliac Acid 15% tonight after washing with sulphur soap then honey and oat mask then wait 10 minutes and apply AA. I had to apply more than the dose said, twice the amount in fact as I didnt spread it quick enough and it evaporated almost instantly, my face is tingling ever so slightly at the moment, il get better at application with each attempt, will keep posted. This is the best my skin has looked in years and its consistent!
@deadesKeep doing BP ur skin is getting used to it. First week i looked sunburned and i kept going because I wasnt getting pustules.
jcbdigger your skin resembles mine. Ive been trying to treat mine with antifungal and antibacterial washes with limited sucess. I never really thought it could be rosacea until recently I started noticing triggers like sun exposure, eating tomatoes, flushing and stress.
Have u tried dela cruze sulfur or bp? Also have u had seb derm at all?
Right now im using tea tree oil soap. It works but is also irritating.
Ive also found shaving every second day helps.
@OptimumcureHi dude, yeah occasional flushing, sensitive to heat also and believe it or if I eat to big a meal Ive since discovered probably to an insulin spike which in turn causes oily skin. Im convinced I have the beating of this now with a solid routine Im still doing a bit of trial and error but my skin if already worlds apart from last week. Im pretty sure I have seb derm also I tried the caveman regime and think that was the initial cause combined with rosacea it was looking horrible, red inflamed etc..
i was using Nizoral for a while to good effect cleared the seb derm however still having outbreaks. This is the beauty of sulphur soap, it treats fungal, bacterial and helps rosacea its bloody fantastic.. Im really having to fine tune everything and it will probably be different from you to me but the underline issue is the same, as soon as I started usin sulphur soap I saw a assume improvement however I had so much flaking skin because it essential peels off the top layer of the epidermis, I left it on but this then clogged my pores so the following night I exfoliated with Manuka honey and Oats today got rid of the dead skin but irritation then caused more pustules I think, I had a build up of dead skin every time I used the sulphur soap so decided Id apply the honey and oat mask every night after sulphur soap for 5 mins then depending on the level of dead skin I either just let the shower wash it off or I would do a quick k exfoliation first. This has been working really well, my skin has improved a lot Im about a week in now.. last night I introduced Finacea Azeliac acid after my normal routine, let my skin dry for 10 minutes then applied it. FYI i gent used any moisturiser for a few weeks now as a trial, so initially my skin felt so tight after the Acid and tingling woke up this morning and my face was red in patches but the pores on my face looked visible smaller, my skin was crazy oily though probably from over drying and no moisturiser. I immediately regretted using it, jumped in he shower and did my normal sulphur soap for 20 seconds and I have a ton of dead flaky skin again much like when I first started using the sulphur soap, as my face dried it vanished however I know it has the potential to clog my pores later so il be sure to exfoliate off tonight, hopefully my skin will adjust to the AA like it did with sulphur did in a few days time. But as the day has progress my skin looks great today. Il almost flawless however Im going on holiday tomorrow so travelling will the ultimate test, changing environments do flying normally cause havoc on my skin. Il report back next week when return. Either way I definitely know Im on the right track now just a matter of perfecting the routine, for the first time I feel like Im going to beat this! Recommend trying the the same thing be gentle.
For info, AM - sulphur soap 10% derma Medico in the shower. No moisturiser
PM- Sulphur soap again, then Manuka Honey and Oat mask for 5 mins exfoliated it off if lots of dead skin. Dry for ten mins then Finacea 15% Azeliac acid (as of last night) andNo moisturiser.
Couple of notes I grind the oats so they are fine as sand.
i try to only leave sulphur soap on for max of 45 seconds

i wash my face with BP before going into the shower. i wear aviators to make sure non of it gets close to my eyes but im only reacting around my eyes nowhere else. my manager asked me if i was sick today. i legit look ill. i should never have started with the BP cream. that was a huge mistake. i shouldve just started with the wash ffs.
also when i wash my scalp with it i dont apply it to my head facing downward like you normally would washing the head. im bending kinda backward while scrubbing and when washing it off so there is zero BP running down the front of my face.

Have you tried changing your diet? Coz I definitely noticed a difference with the pustules when I stopped consuming meat and I also cut off sugary food. It might help you.
@jcbdigger365Hey! I'm so happy it worked out for you! What do you think was the most effective product in your regimen?
@FungalAcneI would say the Azeliac acid really kicked everyone up a notch once and for all, Im literally eating anything and everything with no effect on my skin anymore. My skin is completely used to it now so its great.
@jcbdigger365Awesome, great results, thanks for sharing your experience!
I still believe there must be a connection between SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) and Rosacea. When you research SIBO, you will see that Rosacea is very often listed as one of the symptoms. Also, I don't believe that Rosacea comes out of nowhere.
Therefore, I will continue my SIBO treatment for another while and see if it helps longterm. If not, I will try to get the Finacea...
@jcbdigger365 hey man! Looking great right there! Thanks for sharing what actually helped you.. I have been dealing with this crazy thing for a long time now and been looking/trying lots of different pruducts just to get rid of this and just yesterday I decided to buy Azelaic Acid 10% and give it a try and WOW I could not believe it really does work! I mean I literally had 3 active pustules yesterday and after applying it twice, woke up this morning,(didnt look in the mirror haha) had breakfast and washed my face... then BAM! All 3 pustules were gone! I was shocked! I did not expect it to work this quick.. right now, I still have red marks from the previous pustules but this it waaaaaaayyy better than dealing with the shitty white zits!
Here's a photo of yesterday before AA and today using AA!
@Lazy
@jcbdigger365
Did either of you have white zits inside the nostrils? And if yes, did they disappear with the Azelaic Acid? (Did you use it in your nostrils?) Thanks
Also:
@jcbdigger365
Do you use the Finacea gel or foam? I assume gel, because you say you apply it after washing, right? Thanks
So glad I found this site. Man oh man. Have I had some days where I literally want to punch my face that it goes splat and all is healed and well the next day. I too experienced a traumatic career change in 2015 and after 7 months walked away from the job and lost everything. The job consumed me. I was on 17 whatsapp groups, all job related. Little sleep. High stress, fast paced. During the 7 months, I developed this skin issue. I have been through multiple antibiotic courses. It clears up for a week, maybe two, but then it returns with a vengeance. Just this morning, I finished a course of antibiotics, this time, it was a strong dose, 3 times a day, and instead of my face getting better, it inflamed and I received about, maybe 6 new presents on my face. Red, swollen, itchy, painful and unsightly. I am going to try a similar recipe that jcdigger365 is using, as I believe the trademarks are very similar. I would also like to thank everyone that has contributed here. I'm glad to see I'm not alone, even though, I stare at people my age, with healthy skin, and silently envy them for it. I literally know not one single individual around me, with this same or even similar issue. It is devastating to say the least.
@jcbdigger365Congrats for those improvments ! Continue to tell us if your treatment still working at long term. We don't know if Azelaic acid is usefull in the long term and if folliculitis can develop resistance to it.. This article seems enthousiast https://simpleskincarescience.com/azelaic-acid/ !
So to summarize this thread :
- We have 3 very usefull products : Sulfur (soap or serum), Benzoyle Peroxyde (in gel and cleanser) andpossibly Azelaic acid (cream).
-Combination of these products with Chlorhexidine(kills gram positive bacteria),povidone iodine (kills gram negative bacteria)and also some essential oil could be usefull to provide resistance.
- Many people suspect a link between insuline and folliculitis outbreaks.
- Many people have folliculitis and seb derm in the same time.
- We don't know if leaky gut or intestinal dysbiosis have a link with folliculitis.
- If I don't make a mistake, no one solved its conditions with antifungal treatment ? It seems always bacterial..
