@Liam, I have used sudocrem too, but it made my acne worse.
At first the red zit would go away pretty fast, but then it would come back 10 times worse.
. I also might add that i supply a heavy dose of sudocrem to my affected areas. Is this bad? It sort of dries them out and covers them so i dont have to see them. Should i use a facewash, moisturiser and a acne face cream of some sort on my affected areas, along with your regime? Or is this not a good idea?
Thanks
A good skincare regime is important.
Topicals are covered extensively elsewhere on these forums. The problem with asking for advice on topicals is that if you ask 100 people to recommend products you'll get 100 different products! The truth is that it's largely a matter of trial and error to find a product that is well tolerated and effective for your particular skin type.
Over the last 20 years, I have found a line of products that I consider first rate, that is almost certain to contain a product mix that will help your skin greatly.
But this thread is not about topicals. For this reason I only discuss them via private message. If you PM me, I am happy to share.
@rusko - Yeah man, it's strange, because sometimes it does really help, but not that much, I am just so used to putting it on that i dare not stop using it. It covers them up so i cannot see them, however it gets all over the place! And obviously i cannot go outside with it. Im going to start a facewash regime very soon to see if that helps seen as though i don't have one. Hopefully that will help, and also try and get a strong acne cream to apply to my affected areas to bring them down. I hardly ever get whiteheads, just these big inflamed red spots what stand out so much because of my pale complexion. If i could get the inflammation down and the redness I will be more than happy!
I'm new to this forum but i just want to say thanks wingedserpent for your post!
I've been juicing for the past 4 days and my skin feels much smoother, although i did get more breakouts than usual, (i have mild~moderate acne) i read that it gets worse before it gets better somewhere, so i'm hoping to get some results after a week or so. I feel much more energized than usual, and i wake up before my alarm rings, a miracle i would say because i NEVER get up before the alarm.
i will keep posting and share my results
You're welcome.
One of the great things about juicing is that you can really feel the difference in your energy and mood. Smoother skin was one of the first signs I noticed also -so much so, that I had to stop myself touching my skin!
Of course, I hope in the longer term it heals your skin, but in the shorter term, keep focussed on these other benefits.
I'm going to start the juicing tomorrow since my mom has a juicer and I was thinking about going there and making a gallon or two a week to take to my house and drink a cup or two a day. Does anyone have any good recipes they use? For the past few months I have been drinking that "Naked" brand veggie/fruit juice combo and really like it but the OP mentioned that store bought veggie juices aren't good. So I was wondering I anyone uses strong tasting fruits in their home made juice to offset some of the vegetable taste?
Hello everyone.
wingedserpent, thank you so much for sharing your regimen with us. I am roughly two weeks into trying it. I haven't seen much improvement in quantity of acne yet but what does pop up definitely heals faster and are overall less virulent. I am prepared to stick with this long term and have faith my face will show improvement in the coming weeks and months.
I have a couple of questions though. I believe someone already asked this but, do you have any thoughts on l carninite vs. acetyl-l carninite? I am taking the latter and wonder if you think that might make any difference. Also, as I couldn't find vitamin B5 at the market, I bought pantothenic acid which I read was the same thing essentially, but if that is the case it seems odd that there is no mention of B5 on the bottle anywhere.
Thanks again for your wisdom & I will keep updating my progress!

You should really drink juice within 30 mins of making it. It starts to degrade after that and loses its potency.
Exercise caution when taking fruit juice and vegetable juice together -many combinations can cause gas!

You're welcome; I hope the treatment helps you.
I have only used L Carnitine, so I can't comment on other preparations, other than to say that taking another kind may require modifying the dose I quote. I will update the FAQ shortly to this effect.
Pantothenic Acid = B5.
The juicing hasnt cleared my skin and its been up and down since juicing, but after my Scotland trip (I did juice over there then when I got back, wasn't jucing every day) I am getting back into juicing as I always feel healthy after making one and its nice and relaxing just to do all the prep work eg cutting juciing the vegies etc....
Wingedserpant, I have a question. I know you stated that you've cut sugar out. Now that you're clear, have you tried introducing small amounts? Like, a little bite on birthdays? And has it affected you?
Been following your regime for almost a week, without the supplements. There's definitely a glow.
Thank you for sharing, easy to read and very motivating! I'm very grateful for your post!
Let me answer it this way. Can an alcoholic 'introduce small amounts'? Can he have a drink 'on birthdays'?
To have a sugar-free diet you have to get out of that denial mindset. It's not so much that a little sugar will affect your skin (it won't), it's just that before you know it, it's a little here, a little there, and then you're back on that sugar rollercoaster, and your skin is oily and spotty again. So say no!
Thank you for your response.
You couldn't be more right. I went off sugar for 3 months, it really worked for me. Started with the occasional treat here and there, didn't break out. Went over board without realizing it and now I'm paying.
It's a lifestyle choice. No more sugar!
I just tried a carrot and sweet potato blend and it was delicious. But it took my crappy juicer forever to make 4 ounces.
Wingedserpent: many ounces of juice are you drinking per day?
I make a pint, but that's using 6 or 7 vegetables of various juice volumes. Carrots juice easily so if your juicer can't handle those well it is time to get a new juicer!
Incidentally, I would tend to use either carrots or sweet potatoes rather than both, since there isn't really a need to duplicate sources of beta carotene.
That was a long read but you make some interesting points.
I'm definitely going to start drinking vegetable juice
I believe that'll be a benefit to me. I already have a good water intake
And I try to avoid sugars as much as possible.
OK Winged, day one for me. I had carrot juice and the supplements, along with no sugar and extra water. I feel good (Ive been avoiding sugar anyway in the past few weeks) so Ill update you guys on here soon. Plan to try cucumber and carrot juice tomorrow. Beets are on the list also.
Btw I read you usually drink a pint of juice question answered.
Good luck everyone!
btw Im also taking zinc and fish oil tablets, just to throw that in the mix>
GREAT JUICE...
Beetroot (whole/ peeled and diced)
Carrots
Celery
Pineapple (fresh pineapple sliced)
One Apple
Takes real good!
Just bought a juicer today. One from Philips seemed okay I made the one with Beetroot, Carrots, Celery, One Apple.. It tasted good an gave me energy immediate after. I just think that it needs one or two more ingredients so make the taste perfect. Tomorrow I will add the juice of a lemon. Good for acne also. Need one more ingredients though, any suggestions? Thanks. I have this one called Jack laLane and it seems to work really well you dont even have to peel or dice the stuff as long as it fits in the chute. I tried one yesterday with cucumber and ccelery anc carrots youre right it does taste nice. I might add something like watercress or parsley. I have a few beetroots in the fridge but they look kind of intimidating lol.
This is my best recipe so far..
Beetroot
4 Carrots (Big ones)
3 Celery sticks
1 Apple
1 Lemon (without peel)
5 Lettuce Leaves
Cucumber (5 centimeter) LOL
This recipe produces about 3 glasses and it tastes fucking awesome!! The Juicer is my best investment this year! Be careful with the beetroot. To much of it can ruin the whole juice because the taste is strong and the aftertaste is horrible! [Edited image out] .. The energy you get it amazing. Almost like a drug. Fuck redbull this is the shit! [Edited image out]
Edit: Day 3 = My skin and eyes are glowing.. can't tell if my acne is getting better but I know it will in a week or so! [Edited image out] No matter what I aint stopping this juice thing!
Ok, hi guys!
I am going to start the regime. I really like the sound of it,. I have been off sugar since the start of lent. Had the odd thing here and there but i think i've laid a good foundation. Have also been off dairy for about 3-4 weeks.
Bought a juicer today £99 from Argos. Did my first juice but added Leeks!!!!!!!!! tasted lovely apart from the AWFUL after taste. wont try that one again. Only just read your warning Wingedserpent!
Also ordered the supplements today which should arrive by the end of the week.
I have also prepared a spreadsheet (geek i know) to monitor my progress as WS has suggested. Will start taking notes this Sunday! This should give me a good base to start from.
Have drunk only water for the past 2 months. Other than one occasion when i had some alcohol.
Couple of things of note from the past few months. I have been pretty rigid about my diet and my skin was generally improving but on the very rare occasion i have slipped up - once i had a pizza and had a terrible flare up in the following days and once i had some cake (with cream) and again had a terrible flare up. So i am convinced that diet plays a huge part.
I hope that adding the juice/supplements will help me even further.
My spreadsheet takes me to my birthday in September. 20 weeks! I will follow The Winged Serpent Regime to the letter - no matter what. And at the end of the 20 weeks I will come back and let you guys know how it has gone. I think its unhelpful to give you updates along the way! Full analysis at the end of September!
Wish me luck - I have been plagued my acne for almost 20 years. Here goes.....
Good luck Ruibinbai.
By taking such a determined and organised approach you are maximising your chances of success.
Make sure you come back with an update!
Winged, I have been doing this a little over a weel and I cant say my acne is worse, in fact its diminished. I still have a few small tiny dots--clogged pores?--but overall its better. I dont expect dramatic results for another month or so. I have been doing exactly as you suggested, no sugary junk, the juice (I use carrot celery beet cucumber parsley romaine lettice and half an apple occasionally. I dont like tomatos and I rarely eat peppers.
I have one small concern, in a few weeks I plan to go on a trip for anbout 5 days, I wont be able to take the juicer. I plan to substitute with commerical carrot juice which is refrigerated not canned, not ideal but do you think this would be OK if I follow everything else?
I am glad Im doing something proactive. It feels right. I guess we shall see in a few months how much I improve, but its definately not doing me any harm. Ive even got my husband drinking juice for weight loss, I dont need to lose weight but Im glad he cares more about being healthy )
